We are traveling thru Red River in RV. Went to walk around town today. Stopped to hv lunch here and it was delicious they hv such a fun menu!! All entrees are names of famous people from tv shows husband had a The. BEN ( for Ben Cartwright-Ruben. It was so big he could only eat half! He said it was probably the best Reuben he has ever had. And he loves them! My sandwich was Turkey bacon lettuce tomato and I added pepper jack cheese I forgot the name of it!! And can't get back to the menu right now it was delicious as well and their fries are crispy and great !! Wish we were here longer to go back again! read more

I love chili relleños. I love burritos. Here, there is a CHILI RELLEÑO BURRITO. It's called the Cry Cry Cry and also stuffed with beans, cheese and green chile. Heaven. And HUGE, I could only finish half of it. If you are looking for a good spot to grab a bite in Red River, I'm confident to say this is your best bet. The menu has something I think everyone could like, it's a fun atmosphere, and the last time we stopped in, there was live music! There's lots of eye candy on the wall playing into the old school vibe of this place. Dishes on the menu have creative names paying homage to characters of Grease, Happy Days, The Addams Family, Little Rascals, and more. The food is a good blend of Tex Mex and American staples, and I think everyone at my table enjoyed what they ordered from burgers and sandwiches, to tacos and enchiladas. Now, it's a small place with a small staff so don't expect your food to come flying out. Instead, enjoy the experience! This is our second trip to Red River and with all the crowds down because of the so-called pandemic I wanted to find some place we hadn't eaten before. a smaller place that could probably benefit from our business. We never even set foot inside. The dining on the patio was perfect with the mountain side view just beyond our table. It had a cool diner vibe and a great menu. Diana got a patty melt and I ordered a Philly cheese steak. Hers was awesome as predicted and the battered fries were really great. I got the Philly Cheese steak that was a western twist on the Philly favorite. Instead of thin sliced roast beef it was fairly substantial slices of steak with fajita grilled vegetables and swiss cheese on a ciabatta bun. The steak was lean & tender! It too was accompanied by the awesome battered fries. The food was great. Now bear in mind this is a tourist town. Chill out a little and relax while the food comes in a more leisurely manner than you're used to in the city. Look around at the scenery. Enjoy the 75 degree temperatures with virtually NO humidity. This isn't fast food so chill out. The service was friendly and our server was Cecil. He's a cool guy who owns land in Texas but is living in Red River. He was friendly and laid-back. Exactly what you enjoy when you're on vacation. I really recommend Yesterday Diner. Last year we ate twice at the Red River Brewery which is great, but we wanted to share the love with one of the smaller restaurants. We even met the mayor while we were there. And remember now that all restaurants are hurting and fewer diners means fewer tips. Take special care of the people who take care of you when you dine out. We do. read more

With the sun on us, it was warm enough to eat outside and enjoy the view of the mountains. The service was excellent, price very reasonable, and food was large portions and delicious. Friendly service, order at the counter and seat yourself. Patio seating was not open the day we were here but is an option probably during warmer days. They were kind and allowed me to modify a sandwich to be vegetarian. If you're looking for a diner experience, this is the place. read more

This is a cute little 50's diner. I had a burrito and hubby had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy. We thought the food was very good. In hindsight, I think I should have ordered something more diner like, but my burrito was flavorful and still a solid choice. The service was good and there seemed to be quite a few locals eating there. The prices seemed average. Ate breakfast here and the food was good. Unfortunately the service was a little lacking, but through no fault of the waitress. We sat down on the outdoor patio after letting them know we were there, but ended up waiting nearly 20 minutes for anybody to come out to bring us menus, and that was after going back in to remind them that we were there. Turns out there was a large party (15 people) inside and only one waitress since the other one called in sick. OK, we're willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. We are loyal Red River tourist. We come to Red River two to three times a year. This is my favorite breakfast in all of the Enchanted Circle! Dee & Edward, sister & brother, will make you feel like you are part of the family. I must say that Dee's red chili makes any of the breakfast plates five star! We ate here 3 times over Spring Break 2019 & everything on the breakfast menu was amazing. The breakfast enchiladas were my personal favorite! I hated to leave food on my plate, but the serving sizes were very large. We had perfect 5 star service! This is the best food I have had in Red River, NM! This has been another of our favorites from year to year on our visits. This year, we walked several blocks, shopping as we went, headed for this diner for a drink---adult drink---beer, wine, etc. We get there only to find out that there is no alcohol. They did not renew their liquor license. All was not lost. The kids enjoyed their ice cream treats, as did my 39-year-old son. Still a great place to eat. The staff is so friendly. read more

The green chillies on the burger called a slopper something or other...this open faced burger was amazing, so was the opened faced hot roast beef sandwich with the to die for gravy and mashed potatoes. We stayed in Red River on Thanksgiving vacation over four days, had we come here on the first day, we would have dined here every meal all four days! I wanted to try everything on the menu, I have vast culinary experience so I recognize and appreciate when people cook with heart, these people do everything well and with real culinary passion! We came in for breakfast. Had huevos rancheros and the breakfast burrito. The portions are huge! Easily shareable. The flavors were awesome. The huevos rancheros come with a side of tortillas, which were freshly made and delicious. The one thing to be aware of is that the steps up to the restaurant are icy. They do have a sign reminding you of this. We came in at 8am on a Saturday morning and the temperature outside was -5 degrees!!! We were happy to drink hot coffee and eat warm food. read more
