I decided to put my @shabachyoga birthday coupon (because a true Virgo never lets a coupon go to…read morewaste!) to good use, by trying a new-to-me service: Reiki/Chakra Balancing Details: If you've been feeling emotionally stuck, the likely reason is an imbalance in your emotional energy. During this deeply relaxing session, the practitioner focuses Reiki energy to balance the 7 major energy centers (chakras) in the body. Expect to feel a release of negative energy and limiting thoughts. Expect to gain a sense of clarity and peace. This session will also aid in stress reduction and promote an overall sense of well-being. This session is heightened by the use of sound and scents, as the practitioner employs singing bowls, tuning forks, and essential oils to bring you back to a place of emotional balance. The session lasts 30-45 minutes depending on the state of your chakras. * I walked in with no fear and ready to get started, because I trust Courtenay's judgement. I just wanted to explore a new method of #selfcare.‍ As always, I left this session with lots of 'wow' exclamations.‼ (If only these sessions could be recorded/photographed. Then again, everything isn't meant for public display and stuff like this should be kept sacred.) Since beginning my #yoga /#meditation practice, a lot has changed (and will continue to do so) between my CROWN and my ROOT chakras. There's hope. Don't let #covid get you down. Consider #yoga as a way to get "unstuck" from the rut of #quarantine ‍ Namasté! __ IG: @f.hux Keep reading... #foodieHUX #yelpelite #yelpeatsdc

This is terrible customer service in my opinion. As someone who made a first attempt at starting something new, this wasn't a good first impression on the energy being put off to me as a patron. Especially when you're attending something that's supposed to be relaxing and inviting. What if someone needed to build up the courage to come in a new environment in which they we nervous or self conscious about. When I arrived at the door the instructor simply just shook her head at me and didn't even think to offer me a refund or another session slot, she was just going to keep my money. Mind you this class cost $20. This doesn't seem very inviting and I would recommend another studio.

While I definitely felt my core more the next day, I was turned off by the notion of not being allowed to do certain moves and things if you aren't in a certain class or level. I finally especially interesting when you take into consideration that this very intro level was so easy for someone like me. I definitely left the class wanting more and feeling like/knowing I still had to work out that night. The instructor was nice but the whole experience was dry AF. Ohhh bring your grip socks so you don't pay $16+ for a pair here.

BEWARE of Club Pilates' Cancellation Policy -- Especially Waldorf Location…read more I am posting this to strongly warn anyone considering a membership at Club Pilates, Waldorf. Their cancellation policy is one of the most unreasonable and customer-unfriendly policies I have ever encountered. Even after freezing my account and submitting the required cancellation form, they still charged me additional fees and hid behind "policy" instead of doing the right thing. They make it extremely difficult to end your membership, and it becomes very clear that once they have your credit card, their priority is your money -- not your satisfaction, circumstances, or fairness. What should be a simple, respectful business process is turned into a frustrating runaround designed to squeeze out extra payments. If you value transparency, integrity, and basic customer service, think twice before signing anything with Club Pilates. Their policies are rigid, punitive, and absolutely not in the best interest of members. I truly wish someone had warned me -- so I'm warning you now. Proceed with caution.

DONT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE... Very weird owner and she's disrespectful, I came here for…read moremy first pole session and there was no one there as if the place was closed... Literally on maps & google the place had said OPEN, so i was very irritated about that.. I went next door to a hair salon spoke with them to see what's going on and they literally agreed it's unprofessional to have things that way... I have called multiple times before arriving with no answer (just assuming they were busy) ofc since they were reading OPEN online... Anyway, after so many attempts to reach her or someone who works there at all, I don't get a call an hear back from the owner until 4pm and it was 11:50 when i arrived at her studio!!!!!!! I explained to her that i just moved back to DC from ATL.. So knowing anything beyond what a normal person would see, i would have no idea of. However, I was recommended her studio by a friend and wanted to give a try. I also let her know how i even caught a uber there an back which totaled $54 with change. Now her response to everything??? Very nonchalant she didn't seem to care until i expressed myself further, letting her know how unprofessional that is to have your studio say open when it's indeed closed. Also when i started to record our phone call LOL SHE FELT VERY GUILTY.. I even started to ask her politely how do she plan on compensating me moving forward from this situation beings though i was interested in starting there.. Whether it be my first class free etc. But she literally went back to the beginning like ABC pretending to not understand

At any given time, the thousands of mounted TVs show Fox News , ASPCA starving puppies, and some sort of graphic drama like SVU. Those three channels are on ALL THE TIME. I go to the gym to escape, not to continue seeing the horrors of our world blasted in my face. There are tons of machines, but about 1/3 of them are janky or broken. The majority of free weights and barbells are so old and worn that they don't have visible weight numbers , so I have no idea what weight I'm actually lifting. We were initially excited about the childcare they offer, but even that space is sad and uninviting so my daughter never wanted to go. (Also they incentivize members who leave 5 star reviews so take those with a grain of salt)

I am writing because the situation with one of your janitorial staff has become completely…read moreunacceptable, and I am done tolerating it. This is not a minor annoyance--this is repeated harassment, targeted behavior, and a blatant lack of professionalism from someone who has no business confronting members the way he does. This janitor has approached me multiple times in the locker room, following me around to lecture me about "making the floor wet" because I came out of the sauna sweating. Meanwhile, there are always several other members exiting the sauna at the same time, equally sweaty and using the facilities exactly the same way I am. He stares at them, says nothing, and then zeroes in on me. Every. Single. Time. Let me be incredibly clear: sweating in a gym--especially coming out of a sauna--is *normal*. Expected. Literally the entire point of the facility I'm paying to use. The fact that your employee thinks it's appropriate to tell a member to "stop sweating" is absurd. The fact that he told me to wipe down the floors myself because I was "too sweaty" is even more ridiculous. And the fact that he escalated this by running to the front desk to complain about me sweating is beyond unprofessional. He has threatened to "report me" to management for doing absolutely nothing wrong. I'm telling you right now: I will not to be harassed by an employee for using the gym properly. I will not be singled out while others are ignored. And I will not tolerate being followed or spoken to in a disrespectful, confrontational way in the locker room. I've been a loyal member here for more than three years. I pay for access to the sauna and locker room like every other member. If your staff cannot handle the incredibly basic reality that people sweat at a gym, then your training and supervision protocols need immediate attention. I expect this issue to be addressed swiftly and directly. If this continues, I will cancel my membership and make it very clear why. I am not going to keep paying for a hostile or uncomfortable environment created by an employee who seems more focused on harassing members than doing his job.

I understand the importance of safety and keeping walkways clear, but this rule doesn't seem to consider members who use small gym bags to carry essential items such as lifting straps, resistance bands, belts, water bottles, personal hygiene products, and other workout necessities. If this policy remains in place, I'm seriously considering switching to another gym that better accommodates members' practical needs. My bag is very small, and I've been using it responsibly on the gym floor for over four years without issue. Many members don't want to place their personal belongings directly on the floor, and forcing people to leave items elsewhere can actually create more clutter when belongings are spread out around equipment. A small, designated bag area near workout stations or allowing compact bags would be a much more reasonable solution. Planet Fitness has always promoted convenience and accessibility, so this policy feels unnecessarily restrictive for members who are simply trying to keep their workout essentials organized and SANITARY
