I saw a great picture of these mimosa flights and a huge breakfast in a skillet, I was sold! This place is offering inside seating or also outside seating off to the side of the building. Good service. The mimosa flight is an absolute winner! Very decently priced and just tasted so good, you can pick 4 flavors! Very big menu but I ate the Yolk Grill breakfast (3 eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, home fries, biscuit) which comes in the cool skillet. Humongous portion!! I can not wait to visit again. read more

Great cozy atmosphere! The menu was one of the best I've ever encountered, anything you could want and their sweet breakfast creations were fun. The kids got the Reese's pancakes and s'mores stuffed French toast, both were delicious. I got the Irish eggs Benedict which was one of the best I've had (it's my go to, so a lot). Ordered take out for breakfast on a Saturday morning. I had the Cinnamon Pancake combo. OMG!!! I have never in my life seen pancakes that huge. I ate about 1/8th of one. The eggs were light and fluffy (scrambled). I had sausage and after I ate part of a pancake, a forkful of egg, I could only take a bite of one of the 3 sausages. My husband ordered the ham and cheese omelet with home fries with a side of bacon and hash. The portions were huge!!! He said it was some of the best hash he has had, and the bacon was cooked perfect. I did try one of the home fries, and I don't know what they use for seasoning, but it was delicious!! There is so many leftovers. My husband will be eating breakfast for the week now. We will be ordering from them again. read more

I highly recommend eating here! I ate here for the first time and everything tasted amazing, and the best Belgian waffle I've ever had! The only thing that was not the best was the service. We sat for about 10 minutes before someone acknowledged we had a table, and confused our drinks that also took a while. After that the service picked up. My boyfriend noted it was a little chilly inside but I was comfortable. He also said the corn beef hash was the best he has had, and that he can tell its homemade from it being so good. If you a person of color, the broken yolk isn't a place for you, my son and I went there for a son and mother time, we stood there for 20 minutes waiting for someone to just wipe a table, figured out there was 2 hosts standing there looking at us like we didn't belong there. Tried this out. We ordered the traditional Egg Benedict and since it wasn't on the menu I piecemeal an Irish Breakfast. Start with over easy eggs done just right and the sausage had a nice little bite to it. The baked beans were ok and tomatoes were obviously greenhouse. The English muffin was so cold the butter just sat on it. The "traditional" egg Benedict was not traditional. It had a too thick slice of ham rather than Canadian bacon. The ham was so salty it made it impossible to eat the second egg. We will wAit awhile to try again to see if they improve with time. We do like the atmosphere and people in the place. read more

We had a late breakfast today at the Broken Yolk. It was our first time to The BYG and it certainly won't be our last. The place is huge, much to our surprise. We had never been to the previous establishment - Alicia's Diner - and thus are not able to make any comparisons with today's experience. Having lived in Pelham for the past 5 years, we've been aching for a reputable breakfast/diner spot in town. At the recommendation of our neighbors and certain Yelp reviews, we felt we finally had one to try out. There are booths lining both walls, a huge counter in the far back, and several tables for small and large parties in the center. An interior makeover was apparent and it is an inviting one indeed. Their menu is vast for both breakfast and lunch, featuring a multitude of creative items we have not seen anywhere else. They do serve alcohol and their mimosa flight is a first for us. We each ordered an omelette with my wife getting tots and I getting home fries including an added side of baked beans. Together we had asked for several revisions to our orders. The coffee was served in BYG's own special mugs, which kept our coffee hot throughout our meal. Everything came out exactly how we wanted. The wait seemed about average compared to other local diners. The regular coffee tasted okay for diner joe, although it lacked some flavor. The portions were vast (we took home leftovers) and we liked how they served our tots, beans, and home fries in individual skillets. Everything tasted great. My Farmer's omelette (i.e. veggie) was filled with vegetables and a lot of cheese, having much moisture and flavor, which is a combo you don't typically get in veggie omelettes. The wife's steak bomb omelette had a huge amount of shaved steak, cheese, and mushrooms (she had asked for no onions), and it earned her approval with an 'it's okay' (she has very picky tastes, so this was a big win). The home fries themselves had a unique flavor and were delicious. The only complaints we had were the lack of cleanliness on some of the silverware and the glass jar that our milk came in, and the 10+ minute wait before we saw our waitress. Otherwise, we feel if BYG is able to hire more help (they do have a Help Wanted sign up), they'll be rockin'. We were very pleased with our visit and look forward to returning. read more

Pleasantly surprised with the fare. I had the country skillet which was very filling. My husband had the waffle and liked the vanilla flavor in the batter and had a fluffy texture. The strawberries seemed to have been treated overnight to a sugar bath but not overly sweet which is better than the forced strawberries that have zero taste in other establishments. We waited 30-40 mins to get our food and it wasn't even that busy! On top of that, we received our meals and it was EXTREMELY cold! Cheese tasted processed and fake, the tator tots had a freezer burn taste, seemed very rushed. I started to get nauseous and didn't finish the food. The table next to us got the same thing and they actually spoke to the owner, who is also the cook & all she did was give them a gift card for next time... she did not take initiative and was making excuses as to why the food was cold. Ordered the Italian sausage breakfast plate, pretty sure it wasn't fully cooked, as 30 minutes after eating I was non stop vomiting all day into the night. I also reached out to the owner through a mutual friend and the owner wanted to blame me getting sick on something I must have eaten the day before. I'm 27 years old.... I know my body. Let me just start by saying that I rarely go out for breakfast. I can make 95% of the menu items at home just as good, if not better. I decided to go against my better judgement and try The Broken Yolk. It affirmed what I've believed for years. You're better off staying at home. Like other reviewers I had the chicken and biscuits with sausage gravy and the dish was so salty I could barely eat it. My son had a breakfast skillet. If you love quantity then it's the best choice. We were a little disappointed that it didn't come with toast. Probably our bad for not reading the details close enough, but after waiting a half hour for our breakfast to come out we didn't dare ask. We went on a Saturday afternoon last weekend. They were full and had to wait about 15min for a table. Once we got seated, it took about 15 min for someone to come over to take our drink order & took another 15min for the drinks to come and give our order. I ordered the Irish Benedict and DH ordered a scramble that has eggs, tater tots, cheese, hash, etc etc that came in a dish. It did take a while for the food, but when it came, it looked good. However, our napkins had a fork & spoon and no knife so we had to ask for one. We also asked for ketchup and it never came, so we had to ask another person and we finally got it. Be careful with the salt & pepper shakers, the holes are huge and it comes out fast! The food was good, much better than the previous place, which we really disliked. The Irish Bennies were made with homemade hash & poached eggs w/ a side of home fries and was good. DH said the kitchen sink egg scramble was also good and he didn't finish it and he can usually polish everything off. They need to tell the bus boy not to wipe the table tops onto the floor. We watched him just brush everything off and the floor looked really dirty all over the restaurant. So, decent quantities for the price and we each brought about half our meals home and ate the rest for dinner. We will go back again. read more
