I've seen Think Coffees all over the city and finally stopped in for a much needed pick me up. It feels like such a new spot to me but then I see reviews saying they've been coming to Think for 15+ years! So, it's just me that is a little late to the party. My cold brew with oat milk was strong, delicious, refreshing, ice cold... all the things you want your iced coffee to be. The barista was super friendly & helpful and the space itself was lovely, with plenty of seating, tables, and just enough bustling that it wasn't a quiet and stuffy space. While I am usually not a chain person, this space and biz felt a little different than your typical chain spot. Worth a visit! read more

Needs to be cleaned and kept up much better. The staff needs a friendly lesson. The coffee is the same as any other shop you'll visit. Just a normal shop, but there are much better ones in the area. They close at 7:00, but they close their restroom at 6:00. If you ask to use it, they flat-out refuse, which is an incredible inconvenience. If you're in the area and need substandard coffee and a subpar place to work, stop by, but I'd highly suggest a simple Google search to find a better one in the area. read more

This is my neighborhood coffee spot and I have come here 5 days per week for a latte for 5 years. The baristas know me by name (I get that Norm! from Cheers vibe) and know my order - even that I transition from hot to iced when the weather warms up. I love these lattes. Imagine my disappointment when I walked in yesterday and was told my two favorite baristas were no longer working there. Nelly and Tootie were the lifeblood of that cafe for me. The other baristas are lovely - do not get me wrong - but those two women provided so much light and positive energy for me every morning. What an unfortunate staffing decision. It's just okay. As a chain you get what you get. I had a matcha latte and a muffin. Latte was good but the muffin was dry. I was there from 9am so I would expect the muffin to be a little more fresh. Think coffee was the first coffee shop I went to when I visited NYC. I went to the location close to NYUs campus (Think Mercer). It was raining so a hot cup of coffee will always fix a cold day for me. I ordered the Spanish Latte, an espresso w/ condensed milk. Very delicious. The milk wasn't overpowering so I was able to taste the espresso which I always look forward to for any latte. Staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable with their types of coffee. Cons: Bathrooms are very dirty and smell, kitchen closes 1pm or earlier (varies), a bunch of weird seating/tables, new kitchen overwhelms the back half of the store. It seems like their management botched up an attempted revamp: 1) They replaced a nice bar area with a huge noisy kitchen (maybe operating independently), that dominates the back half 2) They replaced a lot of normal cafe seating with a weird mix of diner-style benches, big metal tables (like something out of morgue!), and bar-style high tables -- overall there's less seating and it's less comfortable. The number of customers, and food and drinks orders is way down on past years. read more

Super rude workers Came to NYC for a week earlier this year and went here every day, bought multiple coffees/lattes and food each day. Amazing music playlist. Came back to visit NYC this week and sat down to work for an hour. I had just bought a matcha from another coffee shop earlier this morning and was finishing it. One worker came up to me to reprimand me that advertising other coffee brands in their shop is not allowed and the rule is posted on the door. I didn't read all the rules when I walked in the door (I doubt many people) but this is a fair rule so I understand it, however the cup was empty when she came up and I said I would just throw it away but she was a bit rude and acted offended that I didn't follow this rule. Then I continue working for an hour and I usually buy my second coffee of the day around noon. It was about noon and I was working away and the same woman worker comes up to me and says "you've been here for a while, you're using a lot of my WiFi so I'm going need you to buy something, there's rules on the door". I said ok that's fine I will because that's a fair rule and I was already about to get up to get my 2nd coffee of the day. I was in the middle of a task so I didn't immediately get up to buy something. Then maybe 2 minutes later a male worker comes up to me and says "did you buy something yet?" I said not yet and he said well there are rules on the door and you need to buy something. My issue is they were both very rude and immediately had a bad attitude with me every single interaction acting like I was personally trying to sabotage their shop with the outside cup and acting like I never buy anything so I'm just leeching off their free WiFi. They acted offended that I wasn't following these rules that are supposedly "on the door" I'm all for supporting good coffee shops and have had great experiences with other workers here but these two were super rude so I got up and left and will not be coming back. They lost hundreds if not thousands of dollars of life time value by from the way they treated me. read more

Horrible Service and stole our money. Me and my friend were sitting for 30 minutes BEFORE ordering two overpriced lattes the size of my palm just for them to throw it out without a refund. Granted the bathrooms aren't the nicest but this place is spacious, the service was fine, and the coffee tasted like fresh coffee. My friends all know I'm super basic and love coffee. I drink so much of it on a daily basis that the caffeine no longer works on me. I can drink cups of it and still take a 4 hour nap. Regardless, I love the taste. Having traveled to countries such as Brazil, Costa Rica, Vietnam, and Indonesia, I know what good tastes like. Think Coffee offers great tasting coffee. Here's the kicker though, I can drink it guilt-free without having to worry about farmers being abused and taken advantage of. The coffee you buy here supports local girls from where the beans are sourced, and I honestly think that adds to the taste and flavor of it subconsciously. Overall, fast and friendly service. Huge and spacious place to get work done or have a quiet conversation. Furniture in the back feels old Victorian.
