First time coming here for my husbands birthday. Service: 9/10. They gave us nice seats overlooking the rest of the restaurant. Josh was our server he was great, friendly, frequently checked up on us. Food: 4/10. The appetizers saved the entire meal. The lobster pothole dish was great, the ahi tuna was amazing. We got scallops and surf and turf. The scallops were overcooked hella chewy. Felt like I was a baby again on my teether. Everything was so dense it was way too heavy of a dish. It lacked acidity to break out the butter of the dish. The filet mignon was phenomenal only to be obscured by subpar sides. The entire meal took a turn for the worst when it came to desserts. We got a crème brûlée and chocolate hazelnut to-go. Once we got home we opened a horror scene of a mess in one box and the second box had pink colored Elmer's glue. It looked like the chef had a personal grudge against me and threw my shxt in the box as hard as he could. The crème was so liquidy it was NOT properly set by a long shot. I called to ask where my dessert was all to find out they forgot the chocolate hazelnut which I drove back for. And that I indeed have the crème brûlée. The staff member explained getting crème brûlée to go consists of it being deconstructed because they have to keep the dish..... weird as hell considering I paid $250 for the meal and they cant afford to go dishes for the crème brûlée? This is my new favorite restaurant, possibly ever. I was given a handful of recommendations to try this place since I love seafood. Third Coast Provisions definitely deserves all the compliments it's given. The interior is so intriguing I found myself constantly looking around. It has and updated east-coast charm with a good amount of hipster. Faux marble inlaid table tops, Edison style lighting, various seating styles and levels. This is a great date spot. The service was great, our server made sure our water glasses were full and our plates were clean. On to the food. I wanted to return before I had even left. Each dish we ordered was spot on. - The Steak Tartare was incredible with a good portion size. - Rock Bottom Shrimp had a great blend of new flavors. - Lobster Potholes were AMAZING. Let's be honest, I'm not a chef and have no idea how to eloquently talk about food. But quite literally everything that touched our table was DELICIOUS. We couldn't get enough. The drinks were perfectly concocted and really added to our amazing night. We had candles on our table and the entire ambiance of the restaurant was spot on. So cozy, romantic and inviting. To top off the night, our server (Caitlin) was TOP TIER. She was so knowledgeable, friendly, genuine and personable. I am giving Third Coast a five, since I am rounding up. I made a reservation, with 80 minutes allotted before having to leave for a musical at Marcus Center. Schedule out more time if you don't want to be rushed! The interior is beautiful and cozy. The modern fixtures and sea inspired decor is understated and polished. We ordered a bourbon cocktail, which I am not finding on the online menu, but it had vanilla and mint. It was sweet and refreshing. We then got four dishes to share between the two of us. Our server was friendly and attentive and answered questions that we had about recommendations. We ordered the crudo tasting and the salmon was delicious and had great, coarse, finishing salt on it. I did not care for the scallop, it was overwhelming fishy, even with the creme fraiche. I think the expeditor made a mistake because a table who ordered after us received their tasting first, and our server asked twice if we had gotten ours, since it should have been served before the other dishes. Next were the lobster potholes. What a creative way to serve these little pots of goodness! The buttery sauce was rich and I wanted to drink it out of the bowl. However, there was not enough bread to soak up the buttery goodness. A larger amount would have been more practical and represent a better proportion. The blue crab and pimento croquettes were crunchy and oozed with creamy filling. The sauce with dill was a great addition. Lastly, the lobster mac and cheese, the creme dela creme. The chunks of lobster were large and the sauce was so so cheesy and thick. I would have liked it to be served with spoons to better scoop all of the cheese, as it would drip through the fork prongs. Since we were in a rush, they boxed the complimentary dessert, chocolate trifle. It was quite good, I would have liked more brownie bites for the amount of pudding. A great place to celebrate! We went out for an anniversary dinner and it was delightful. The server brought out complimentary champagne which was very nice. Our server was knowledgeable with the menu. I had the scallops which was delicious. We also had the oysters Rockefeller. I really liked the ambiance of the restaurant itself but my husband said it was a little too dark inside. The tables were nicely spaced out for COVID but that made it more intimate in my opinion. Elegant restaurant in the heart of Milwaukee! It has a great atmosphere suiting for different styles. As it has more of a modern design and decor, you will still feel at home, Milwaukee! Our server seemed a little overwhelmed with his section. It was a busy night and he seemed to have forgotten our presence multiple times throughout the night. Nevertheless, the rest of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I was impressed by the varied selection of spirits and other alcohols. I was extremely happy with my choice of a Balvenie 15 yrs. while the price for a single was a little steep, I enjoyed every ounce of it. The food was amazing. I highly recommend spending a couple extra bucks to taste a savory meal. I tried the lobster pothole, the winter striped bass, and the creme brûlée, while my husband had the mushroom ravioli. Everything was presented elegantly and the quality of the food was superb. After we were done eating, our plates sat in front of us for about 10 minutes before the sever noticed and took them away. While waiting for our dessert, we were approached by Cameron, who me asume is the manager, to asked us about our overall experience. We engaged in a short and nice conversation making the whole experience more personal. My wife and I went to Third Coast Provisions on a Saturday. Our experience didn't start out great. We had reservations and showed up on time, but we were sat in the back of the restaurant at a table with a heavy curtain that blocked off 2/3rds of the restaurant. The waiter came by and was very well spoken about all the items on the menu. Unfortunately it sounded like he was sick as he was sniffling loud enough for us to hear every other sentence. This was a bit off putting as he handled our drinks, silverware, and plates. I didn't want to be thinking about catching someone else's cold/flu when eating dinner. Food came out and it was really good. We enjoyed the Ahi Tuna small plate and the lobster mac n' cheese. We also had the mussels, which were good, but we'd try something else next time. Finally, the end of the night came and we were ready to pay our bill and head out. We waited 10-15min for the waiter and he came back to us with a dessert menu. He didn't ask if we wanted dessert and didn't take any time to explain the dessert menu as he put them on our table and promptly left. We waited another 10min for him to come back so we could tell him we weren't interested in dessert. It was another 10-15min until we finally got the bill and paid. We stayed +30min longer at the restaurant just waiting to get our bill paid. Not ideal. Overall - the food was great. The poor seating, sick waiter, and long time we had to wait for service at the end of the night was off putting. Possibly it was an off night? Based on the high price we paid for dinner, I don't think I'm willing to give it another shot. read more

Incredible food, service and atmosphere. It's 5 star food without the stuffy setting. Try all of the courses...you will not be disappointed. The tuna tartare was fresh and satisfying. My husband and I both said we could eat several. The lobster pot pie is out of this world, but trust me when I say it's HUGE. I recommend sharing if you plan on having any of the other courses. The scallops are perfectly seared and filling without being heavy. The service really sealed the deal, though. Another restaurant, another great experience. I took my wife there as part of our anniversary celebration, and right away our waiter mentioned it. They also brought us champagne to toast with and a free appetizer. What a great way to start. Like many have said, the interior is very bright and uplifting. We are used to the darker, more intimate settings so this was a nice change of pace. The food itself was very good. To be honest it wasn't the best thing I've ever had in my life, but it didn't disappoint us either. We went with a bunch of small plates. The crab cakes, lobster rolls, and crispy shrimp were all very good. I think we both can agree that the hashbrown with braised beef was the best, however. The hashbrown was crispy and the beef melted in your mouth. Overall it was a great experience, from the food to the courtesy of the wait staff. I hosted a business dinner (about 65 people) at Third Coast Provisions and had the entire restaurant to ourselves for 2 hours. Joe worked with me to perfect the menu for the group taking into consideration food allergies and preferences. In addition, he put our logo on the menu,and named drinks for our themed event. The service, food, drinks and atmosphere were amazing! I got raving reviews from everyone that attended. It was so good that a group of us went back the next night for dinner. The decor is awesome and I found myself actively taking it in, and the noise volume reasonable for a place like this making conversation easy. Notable recommendation - the Steak Tartare. Just go for it. While the quality of the food, depth of menu and level of service are all fantastic! I would recommend the restaurant as a date spot for sure. I am a sucker for seafood and oyster so it was with great anticipation that we visited Third Coast Provisions. Hubby and I would have our last meal be Chargrilled Oysters from Bourbon Street if we could so I was skeptical to see if a restaurant in Milwaukee could compete. Well played Third Coast well played! I gotta be honest these tasted just like my favorites from the south. Oysters chargrilled with garlic butter and bread.....tastebud Nirvana. Between the oysters and the scallops hubby and I were stuffed. Third Coast is beautiful inside! You walk in to a beautiful long bar and cozy tables with an upstairs with more seating. Hubby and I were seated upstairs which was romantic and glam. If I had to describe the atmosphere I would say city chic, definitely a great place for a date. Our server was amazing. He was great about making recommendations and telling us his favorite menu items and he was spot on! I wish I were better at remembering names because he deserves a mention. First, I have to say the food is delicious. There is certainly no lack of flavor here. I had the clam chowder, shrimp n grits, and tilefish. The clam chowder was excellent, definitely recommend it to start. All their seafood is fresh and you can really tell with the clam chowder. The shrimp n grits is really good too, I just wish it were an entree instead of a small plate cause I could've used more. The preparation of the tilefish was really fancy too...I wish I could tell you which fish dish to have, but that's the only one I've tried so far. This is a pretty fancy place and the vibe is very "ritzy." Personally, I prefer their other restaurant, Merriment, for a more laid back experience and much more food. Physical plant was attractive, aesthetically things looked appealing. The server was new - and obviously scripted, saying exactly the same thing to each table. How many times can you hear magnificent when the reality was something totally underwhelming??? The entire meal (in our opinions) was not good. The crab dip consistency was odd and there weren't any crab chunks, the lobster pockets were too salty and didn't taste like lobster, there was no uni in the pasta dish and it turned into a coagulated pile quickly, the rabbit ravioli was just ok. Insult added to injury was a Wellness charge added to our guest check, small portions of wine at $20 a piece and upset tummies after dinner. Disappointed and will not be returning. read more

I ordered whitefish with a potato pancake. The whitefish was heavy and the pancake much too salty and a weird texture. There isn't any bread or crackers at the table and the prices were way too high. When you walk in the doors, the decor is very trendy. Everything from the lights, seats, and marble tables, made you feel like you were in a swanky Chicago restaurant. It's very warm, welcoming, yet very intimate as well. For those who like to people watch, I highly recommend sitting upstairs in the loft section to view all the action. My husband and I initially wanted to order a few plates but since it was so good, and each plate just got better and better, before we knew it, we ordered 8 plates in all! Steak Tartare - Best we've had in the city. The Steak was very tender and didn't need much chewing. The Bone Marrow, Capers, and cured egg yolk gave it a unique creamy flavor. I almost didn't want to share this dish. Ceviche - The zesty ceviche was also a good dish. The Saltines complimented it very well and helps cut into the lemon taste but also adds to the avocado pieces as well. Well done! Fried Oyster Sliders - This had Pork Belly Pastrami and a Slaw that paired well with the breaded Oyster. The Oyster was perfectly cooked! Lobster Potholes - It is a fun play on an Escargot dish. Where the potholes are filled with jumbo pieces of crab. The butter and very garlicky and herb sauce was heaven. The brioche toasts that were provided was a good portion and was welcomed to soak up all that creamy goodness. I didn't want to let anything go to waste. Shrimp & Grits - Having ties/roots in the south, I always gravitate towards Shrimp & Grits every time I see it on a menu. This had an Indian spice blend twist to it. This knocked my socks off. This is not your mama's Shrimp & Grits, its better. Lobster Mac & Cheese - Again, this southern girl at heart loves a good Mac & Cheese. The cheese blend included a 2 yr Sharp Cheddar, Farmer's Cheese among others. The Lobster was perfectly cooked and the cheese sauce was sinful. Even though my pants were tight at this point, I still managed to eat my half of the dish and probably even took some from my husband's half. Lobster Roll - The brioche bread was very buttery and by toasting it, brings it out even more. This is a great plate to share among friends and I felt the Tarragon-Mayo didn't overpower the Lobster itself. Some tend to overdo it. Key Lime Creameaux - Recently, my husband and I got married in Key West and had to try it. This is a very creative dessert where it is a deconstructed Key Lime Pie and very playful. It was very light and when all the components were married back together on the spoon, It felt like I was in Key West again. The owners Chef Andrew and Cameron are very welcoming and even gave us a tour of their establishment. Both visited our table and even stayed a bit to chat. Both really wanted to make a connection with their customers. The Oyster Bar downstairs is casual where you can get great food and drinks and let your hair down a bit more. You must ask to see this room! I need to give thumbs up to our waiter, Matt who did a fantastic job and his suggestions were spot on. He was ok but god, that voice! Noise- terrible. Crazy-assed lady laughing like a wild animal. People next to us obnoxious. Bartender shaking drinks loudly right near us. I really enjoyed my meal at Third Coast Provisions. Great atmosphere, very nice staff, and good seafood. Pros: Everyone at my table enjoyed their meal. I had mussels and lobster mac and cheese, the broth the mussels were in was truly excellent and the lobster mac and cheese was quite good. They also have a great wine list. In addition our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to answer all questions we had. Cameron, one of the owners, came over at the end to check in on us which was a nice touch. Cons: I would love to see Third Coast offer a few more side dish options or small plates (e.g. frites to go with mussels). This would be great especially if you're planning to eat at the bar or just want a light meal. I found myself ordering two small plates because I wanted something on the lighter side, but one small plate didn't seem like enough. In terms of delicious seafood, I think this place takes first place in MKE. (You really can't beat Harbor House with the views, though). Since it was my birthday, we started out with a complimentary appetizer, which was very nice. It was the Parker house rolls. They were good. Seemed like they could have been provided anyways as dinner rolls. This is where the mediocrity ended. We continued with the crudo tasting. Each piece of sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth fresh. Honestly probably didn't need the extra sauce and garnish. I'll admit, though, they complimented well and did not overpower the taste of the fish. We split the oysters - half east, half west coast. Both were delicious. I enjoyed the east a bit more and had more meat on them, as east coast often do. Clam chowder and lobster rolls were very good. Instead of getting an actual entree, I just ordered more of the scallop crudo since it was so off-da-chain. read more

All jokes aside, wow, I couldn't eat more than two bites of each dish because everything was crazy salty. We ordered the hash brown royale, rock shrimp, mussels and lobster pot pie. The only saving grace was the loaf of bread the mussels came with but that wasn't enough to save the meal. I feel like the flavors were all there had the chef decided to lay off the salt so "hey chef!! Please read this review!" :) As for the infamous lobster pot pie, it's simply not worth the $45 price. There are three pieces of lobster on top of the pie and none inside. So all you're getting is loads of potato, baby onions, carrots and peas after you break into the filo dough. I'd go with another entree for half the cost. On the bright side, the decor was lovely, the wait staff was amazing and the valet was very affordable. read more

A place for a nicer date or wanting to impress family and friends. One thing that was pretty disappointing was that we both ordered a prix fixe and one entree was served then the other one came out 25 minutes after. When the first entrees came out we were told it would be five minutes, but it turned out to be a lot more. Our server didn't update us it would be longer or apologize. I came here for the second time on my Birthday 3/11 and had the most incredible dining experience I have ever had in Milwaukee. The restaurant is elegant, simple, modern, and sophisticated. I love the atmosphere and ambiance. The staff is extremely attentive and works hard to ensure you have an exceptional experience. Mine was just that, perfect in every way. The oysters are fresh and delicious (both raw and cooked). The scallops are to die for sitting atop a stunning risotto with incredible sage butter and incredible wild mushrooms. Solid-ly OK. My husband and I came here for dinner on a Friday night. We got there around 6pm, and the place was not too busy. We were seated upstairs, We each got a cocktail - mine was pretty good, the "spilling ribbons"! Sweet but not cloyingly sweet. For our food, we ordered 4 items to share between us. The first to come out was the Salmon Crudo. This was just ok. The "toppings" that were on the salmon were arguably better than the salmon itself. I really liked the puffed rice, but when puffed rice is the star, something is up!. The salmon was cut pretty thick, and I had 2 pieces that were distinctly fishy in flavor. So, I am not sure if the cut in general was not as clean / precise as it should be? Second was the steak tartare. This was good! No complaints here. It comes served on a toasted slice of hearty bread. I really liked the smokiness that the bread lended to each bite. Third was the chargrilled oysters (hatch chile). These were good, but nothing to write home about. I wanted there to be maybe a stronger pickled pepper flavor, or maybe spiciness? Last entree was the crispy rock shrimp. These are basically popcorn shrimp, tossed with a honey / vaguely asian-ish glaze. These were just ok. I wished they were spicier, or maybe had more of a calamansi sourness (calamansi is listed as an ingredient in the sauce but I couldn't taste it at all!). Lastly, we finished up with a dessert. We ordered the strawberry semifreddo. What we actually received was a block of strawberry ice!!! OK, maybe I am exaggerating, but this dish certainly did not need to be as cold as it was. It was borderline impossible to get your spoon into. Everytime you would put your spoon on it, it would slide around and MAYBE break off a tiny piece for you to eat. It is a shame, because the flavor was good. It was filled with lots of fresh strawberry pieces, and a creamier base ice cream flavor. Overall, it was just ok. This place made my day. We had a party of three at 6:30PM on a Thursday; we were seated right away. Christine was our waitress, and knew right away how to sway the table. We ordered the oysters (the west coast are my favorite; the smaller ones), Steak Tartare (fan favorite!), lobster pot pie, and the scallops. All portions were perfect. The scallops... so delicious. The lobster pot pie is in a league of its own. Christine told us that if there was anything on the menu that you should get; that would be it. Food was rich and "beautiful".
