I see exactly why the parking lot is always empty when I pass by. This location is nothing like the Camp Creek one. I ordered baked chicken with rice, sweet potato soufflé, mac and cheese, and potato salad. I also purchased my grandmother a plate with meatloaf, collard greens, and sweet potato soufflé. What really set the tone was having to stand there and watch the young lady fix both of my plates. She was extremely stingy with the portions. I mean tiny dabs of food. The amount of rice on both plates was honestly shameful -- you could clearly see the bottom of the container. I almost turned around and walked out, but since I had already driven an hour to get there, I decided to continue. Watching someone fix $15 plates like that, knowing the price, was very disappointing. The baked chicken was dry and hard. The mac and cheese was not creamy and not cheesy at all. The potato salad was just okay. The only thing that was actually good was the sweet potato soufflé -- and it was a 10/10. This was my fourth time giving this location a chance. I usually buy at least eight plates when I come, so you can imagine how much money I've spent trying to support them. At this point, the only reason I would ever return is for the potato soufflé -- and nothing else. They really need training from associates at the other locations because I want to root for them. The other locations know how to: * Properly portion food * Cook it the right way * Offer real options Here, the bar looked pitiful, and to charge that much for so little food just doesn't make sense. I'm used to going to This Is It and seeing real ribs, spicy ribs, pork chops, and variety. I understand business -- if things don't sell, you focus on heavy sellers -- but this bar looked like bare minimum effort. For the price, I can go to A1 Soul Food, get way more food, and it tastes good every single time. I think I'm done with This Is It -- at least this location. Good : *the flavor and cook of the food was perfect *reasonably priced *ample parking *plenty of indoor parking The Not So Good: *the wait for entree to come was a bit long *they kept forgetting items from the order...which meant even longer wait time for certain items. *although shrimp is on the menu, (which we ordered) we were told it was discontinued all together AFTER waiting and paying for it. we opened the box and it was chicken wings that's when we brought it to the cashier's attention and that's when she told us about it being discontinued and said they thought chicken would be fine. We told her we were pescatarian so we don't eat chicken so she offered fish instead...which was more wait time *also ordered biscuits but never received them. After asking a few times and them "going to the back" to get them, they finally said they ran out and offered us cornbread instead. My husband loved the liver n' onions, the sassy rice, collard greens, and fried chicken and My father had the ribs which I ordered online at 6pm for my father's 81st birthday. I did not walk out the door until 7:55 pm. That is ridiculous. The staff was friendly but lacked enthusiasm to fulfill my order which was already paid for. I was only in town for a short time and was looking for fast soul food. "This Is It" is just that. I ordered meatloaf on top of potatoes, with cabbage, greens, banana pudding, red velvet cake, and peach tea. The server was very nice, made suggestions, and knew what he was doing. The place was very clean and since it was closing time there were only a few customers there enjoying their food. There were only a few people in line ahead of me, which is something I needed. I took my food to-go. But next time I will enjoy it at a table. When I made it to a gas station I dove in and was not disappointed. The food was good but I couldn't eat it all. Let me start this review by saying that I really try to work with people/businesses and give them the benefit of the doubt until they try to play in my face. At that point, the lack of customer service is evident and I have to take matters into my own hands. I ordered and paid in advance for food during the recent holiday and it was supposed to be ready by a certain time. Upon arriving about 45 minutes early, I am told that my food wasn't ready and won't be for another hour and a half. What??? I waited for about 2 hours and a half on my prepaid food. After asking for the catering manager, who I had dealt with when I ordered, I was given the owner who was really no help. During this long wait, no one came back to keep me updated about my food. I saw several people come and go with their food and several employees helping others, but not me. I really feel that they were taking so many non prepaid orders in their drive thru that they sold my already paid for food. I was probably one of the last cars there and one of the ladies asked another what I was waiting on....MY FOOD!!! Upon getting my food, I went home very upset at my experience. On Thanksgiving, I realized that my food was not what I ordered and paid for. I have been calling the restaurant since 11/28 with no answer. I finally got someone on 12/3, 12/4, and 12/5, but not who I needed so that decisions to take care of ME (the customer) could be made. This was a terrible experience that I don't wish for anyone. Let's review the long awaited opening of this location to Douglasville Ga. Outside looks just like other older locations around metro Atlanta. Upon entering it looked like walking into a cafeteria immediately met with a couple L-shaped stem table and chairs no booths are decorations just open area with separated tables. Is this what they think of us in Douglasville? I guess so. I've gone during the day and again about 7:00 pm and the food on the steam table look like it did when I visited earlier in the day. Veggies under the juice so you have to ask what t is. Sauce on meat looked like left overs from the fridge and when I got it home about 4 miles away I had to put in microwave. Veggies were not really seasoned. Staff friendly enough but always running around bumping into each other as those they don't really know what they are doing. Service very slow! Very disappointed in the brothers for this awful location e when we compare to others. A new cook may also be in order. Just speaking my mind. We deserve better than what we got. read more

I tried to tell the young lady my sides in advance and she told me she would come back over to me to get them. They use to go plates so it would be helpful to write it on the box to cut down time. The workers are teenagers and move in slow motion. Now I have always loved This Is It on Camp Creek! I was super excited about this location. The sides were awful! I'm still in disbelief! We had collards, Mac & Cheese, baked beans, and fried okra. My husband's fish and my sons shrimp was over cooked. I will stick to the Camp Creek location! Very disappointment.
