DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING TO BUY A VEHICLE HERE. Joseph was honestly the only person here who gave any real customer service. I was ready to buy a vehicle but Jonathan honestly blew the sale. He either needs a lot of work on his sales skills or is extremely shady/greedy. He basically told me not to waste 15 minutes his time (he was going to ask his manager if he could drop the price) if I was not going to buy the vehicle. There were no other potential buyers in the lot so it was not like they had anything else to do. I guess his time was wasted. I went to another dealer in Santa Clarita, got a way better deal with a better package. Everyone from the salesperson to the GM to the finance person were very nice. Buy your next GMC here. This dealership is a master class in everything not to do. The tech I've been dealing with , Juan, is a joke. He is short, dismissive, and has poor phone etiquette. He doesn't know how to speak to people and get flustered easily. I don't know if he is trying to be the assistant to the manager or what but I wouldn't let him shine my shoes at the kiosk in the mall. The service manager, Cesar, is also whack. Can't return phone calls, never answers his phone, and when he does he is the least helpful as possible. Everything he has told me has not held true, from when my car will be ready to when the parts are coming. The two people I've dealt with here that are incredibly helpful and courteous are Luna and Vince. Kudos to those two employees for being leading examples of how to be. Juan could learn a thing or ten by shadowing these employees. I wouldn't buy another vehicle here and I hate that I have to come here. I've dealt with another dealership in riverside that has been so much more helpful and polite. It just goes to show that it's the people working at the dealership that suck and make things uncomfortable. Be aware of the service department! I arrived at 9:21 for a 9:30 routine 7500 mile service appointment for oil change, inspection and rotate tires on my 2023 Yukon and was told it would be around 2 hours. When 11:45 rolled around, and half of the people who came in after me already got their vehicle service finished, the service advisor came in and told me that mine hadn't even been started yet. Another hour and 15 minutes passed before I finally got my vehicle, 3 hours 40 minutes total, almost double the time they told me it would take. I gave myself what I thought would be plenty of time buffer before a work commitment, but Thorson Service's dishonesty and disorganization caused me to be late for an important client call. I would not recommend taking your vehicle here for service, especially if you have somewhere to be, I know I will not be going back. read more

My wife and I purchased a vehicle here many years ago (27) when we first got married, then early this year we bought our daughter her first car here. The sales experience was good both times. The problem is the service department. My daughter's vehicle had an issue covered under warranty and we were told in June that the part had to be ordered and we would be contacted as soon as it arrived. We have yet to hear from anyone. Every call goes unanswered and when I called today, September 13, 2023, I was put put on hold so they can check with the parts department. After waiting a while on hold, I was disconnected. We give up. We will find another Buick dealership to patronize and will not be doing business with Thorson anymore. Updated: When businesses drop the ball, what matters most is responding and communicating with the customer in a timely fashion. I have upgraded my rating to 4 stars. While I believe there are still some communication bugs to work out, the GM, Ted Barnes, has been in constant communication with me to rectify the situation and that's all that matters in my opinion. 5/20/2022 We took our 2008 Isuzu 3500 commercial truck to Thorson Motor Center as they have an excellent service center for commercial trucks, and we had purchased our vehicle from this dealership in Pasadena in 2009.   Vince was our service advisor when we had to have our transmission replaced back in July 2020 for approximately $5500.  It had 100,000 miles on the vehicle at that time.  Isuzu warranties the REPLACED transmission for 1 year, unlimited miles.  We had to return the vehicle two times Oct 2020 & Nov 2020 as we continued to hear a whining noise coming from the engine.  At the Nov 2020 visit, Vince, our service advisor, informed us that the noise is normal.  Fast forward to Mar 2022 we started hearing more noises coming from the engine.  We took it to our local mechanic.  They diagnosed a problem with the transmission.   We brought it back to Thorson where they diagnosed that the transmission had failed.  The mileage read at this time a little over 113, 000.  So the mileage was only 13,000 more from the transmission replacement, but it was five months out of warranty.  Our first conversation with Thorson was that Isuzu would replace the transmission.  We received a call on Tuesday, May 17th from Mr. Angel D. Salcido, the commercial truck manager & informed us that Isuzu denied the claim since it was no longer under warranty.  What?? We were super disappointed.   Mr. Angel D. Salcido went above & beyond in working with Isuzu to try and get this repair covered as he felt that it shouldn't have failed in such a short term & due to the fact that we had brought it in to them two times after the transmission was replaced.  Thorson Motor Center has a huge, successful  service department for commercial trucks.  So their relationship with Isuzu Corporation is very strong.  Because Mr. Salcido was very compassionate with us and tried to help us out in getting the cost down.  He was able to get the labor waived from Thorson ($1600) & brought the cost of the replacement transmission to a lower rate.   We can only say extra good things about Thorson Motor Service Center, our service advisor Vince & Mr. Angel Salcido.  We can't say the same about Isuzu Corporation as it is evident that the first transmission had failed in just a short term & should have been 100% covered for parts to us, and labor to be reimbursed to Thorson Motor Company.   We travel all the way from Orange County (1.5 hr drive in traffic) to get our commercial vehicle serviced here at Thorson in Pasadena, CA, & we will continue to do so. He got offended because i offered 6k less than asking price for a used GMC sierra that had 44k mikes but the condition of interior and exterior did not match the 44k miles, 200K mile condition. He came out all pissed off saying my offer "did not make sense", i responded "the truck mileage condition does not make sense". He basically didn't care, he said his truck was a "hot truck", but its still sitting in the lot, weird LOL! Not sure where to start , been a GM owner for long time 3rd generation . I really liked the new GMC Sierra so dropped by to check it out . Of course as always sales people are super nice . Felt different , they were willing to work on they price and even the GM came out to get involved in the deal . Left and called back wanted the truck they had all the paperwork done before I got back I was in and out in hour or so . Very easy process . Of course gotta bring it in for service right this is usually where abut goes wrong and get treated like crap and it's never their fault . Ted the general manager is amazing he runs a right ship . I called Thorson GMC in Pasadena for a Canyon denali, first guy was good, except he was off on the day we went over. His partner took over and he didn't know what was going on. So I informed him on the highlights, except he just didn't know what was going on. Nice guy, but maybe the greed of the dealership took over. Make the long story short, wife has A+ credit and income to back it, but they want you to lay down and sign. I will not recommend this dealership, unless you want to get it in the you know what. Greed is the name of the game in this dealership. We ended up getting 1.9 apr 72 months on a buy. Got a decent trade equity on our truck at Antelope Valley Chevy. I really tried with the place. The first time I went the service wasn't great. However, when I sent the second time. I figured, hey it's been awhile maybe things will get better. I also, needed to tow my car and my usually mechanic does not do electrical work. I needed an ECU replaced. I bought one that was preprogrammed. I told them this, and they decided to argue with me about if it was or not. To the point I needed to send them an email just to prove myself. I told them all they needed to do is put it in and sync it. I would've done it myself if I had the time. It took them 4 days to do this job. I asked them why it took them so long. They told me they needed to drive it longer to check the computer was working. I took the car back, drove it only 7miles and the locks started to unlock and lock while I was driving, and the engine started to act weird. I told them the issue, and that I wanted to have it fixed as soon as possible. The service manager Casey Ruiz starts talking to me like he wanted to fight. I was professional told him not to speak over me. He says "you know what you can bring your car back, but it is going to be two days until we get to it, because we have other customers". Therefore, I contacted the "Service Director" Angel who disrespects me the same way. I had to tell them that I gave them my car in hopes of them doing what they've said. The mechanic/technician said my ECU was fine, and everything checked out. I just want Thorson Buick GMC to do what they've said, and I will be out of your hair. They took my car, and stated I needed new battery cables that would cost them $941 to fix because they needed to find after market cable kit. I was going to do it, but something (GOD) told me to take my car. I did, and found out that I can get this fix about $400 cheaper. In short, don't go here. No matter how convenient it is, or even if they say they will cut you a deal. Go elsewhere. I am not coming back. If it wasn't for one Service Technician named Randy Bruno who was professional. I would've given them a 1 star. Go elsewhere people. This place is not worth the headache. Also the second time, the went joyriding or something in my car and scorched my brakes. SMH read more

If I could leave a negative I would. I REALLY dislike leaving bad review, but this place deserves it! We have a re-call on our 2014 GMC for brake problems. I almost hit a car at the airport becuae the brakes keep failing. I called Thorson with my re-call letter and had it tows EARLY MONDAy morning. It is now Wednesday evening and I just called again. They haven't even LOOKED AT IT yet! We kind of NEED our car to get to work! They won't even give me a date it will be done. This place is a total joke. All they tell me is that they are backed up. I DON"T CARE! Hire more help! I have been super nice and have already given you almost 4 days and my car isn't even in the shop yet...WTF???? HORRIBLE SERVICE..however they do answer on the 3rd ring if that means anything. Advisement: I actually did not purchase a car here so I cannot speak to the entire process. However, my gf and I were in the area today looking for a specific car that this dealership had as part of their current pre-owned fleet. While walking onto the lot we were immediately approached by salesman Jonathan who pointed us to the car we were looking at online. He was very courteous from the start and answered our questions. We've been shopping for a bit and have run into a lot of the typical car salesman. Jonathan's demeanor was warm but affirming and exactly the type of person we want to be dealing with. We took the car for a test drive and after huddling together, we decided it was not the right exact car for us so we bid adieu to Jonathan. We failed to realize my gf left her purse in the passenger seat. We did not notice the purse was missing until we reached Glendale at which we gave a call to Jonathan (thanks to his business card). Luckily for us he was honest and held onto the purse as we hastily drove back. I just want to take the time to thank him and his team for doing the right thing. I just switched from Cadillac to Buick (brand new Enclave). For this dealer's sales side, A++. For service, D-. What a downgrade on the service side, wow. They had no record of my appointment, don't answer their phone or emails. Told me they couldn't take me at all for 3-4 more days and that even then, it would be a situation where I needed to leave the car for an additional 2-3 days for a diagnosis with no loaner or other contingency for getting me home from Pasadena to Studio City. They could not have cared a smidge less when I asked "what's going on with this service department?" and made no apologies other than to say, "I told you, we're really busy". Took my car to Keyes Chevy, where they couldn't have been more professional and accommodating and also arranged for Lyft to/from home. Will not be visiting Thorson for service and this experience really soured me to the dealership. read more

These days while it is hard to get a vehicle in many cases, the staff at Thorson was extremely impressive at communicating with me the entire process as my vehicle was being built and shipped. It got to me sooner than expected and they did everything they could to ensure my purchase experience was quick and easy. I have purchased many cars in my past and this was a very easy process and everyone was extremely friendly, responsive and helpful. I made an appointment for 12pm to have my car looked at. When I made the appt on the phone, the guy said they could diagnose the car same day. This sounded too good to be true, as other dealers were telling me they needed a couple days. When I showed up for the appt, the nice kid that works there could not find any record of an appt. I asked what the phone number was there to make sure I called the right place. He gave it to me, we looked at my outgoing call record together, and I had called the right place. The guy that booked the appt said his name was "Raul". I was told no one by that name works there and further, that the appts are booked by either a centralized location or 3rd party or something. Basically, no accountability possible. The techs go to lunch at 12pm, I was told. I was basically SOL. I asked for the manager and was told he was not available. Rearranged my whole day around this appt and wasted a lot of time. I have taken my car there before for oil changes but will not be returning again. read more

Extremely disappointed with Service I had stopped bringing my vehicle I was told my vehicle needed a new transmission & rack & piñon, CRAAAZY! After knocking common sense into Service Advisor & "master mechanic" working on vehicle I received a call back stating it was a sensor. 1. I knew this had already had the code look up. 2. RACK & Pinon causes loose steering & transmission failure will cause transmission to slip or not go into gear. NONE OF WHICH MY VEHICLE HAD. we had a trailer tow brake fail. I don't even know where to start. I originally blew the motor in my Izusu truck. I went to Thorson to purchase a new motor literally 45 days ago. This job shouldn't take more then 1 week tops. Once they finally decided to work on it 2 weeks later and install the new motor. Until today 3 weeks after the engine has been installed they can't figure out why the engine won't crank. I'm spending 200$ a day out of pocket for a rental because these goofball rookies can't figure NOTHING out.
