Random hole in the wall little spot. They are located to the right of a church parking lot. There is a lot of parking and seating. The people are nice and quick service. I highly recommend their fish tacos. Although I wish they would give consume like most places. But the reason i came here was because I was told their birria tacos were good. We did not get our orders correct and they said that WE were wrong and they'll be polite enough to not charge us even though they clearly made a mistake. It's 2017 and you're driving through San Diego, maybe in Chula Vista, or National City, or El Cajon. You see a food truck in a parking lot with "Mariscos-Something," written on it. Next to the truck, a pop up tent lined with people sipping consommé and patiently waiting. You've never tried the place before but you're confident that you can score a tasty bit of Baja in the form of a Dollar Fish Taco at anyplace with "Mariscos," in the name. You park and you're damn right. But even in the pre-Covid beforetimes the Dollar Baja Fish Taco was on the decline. Prices were steadily creeping by the quarter, first to $1.25, then a buck fifty, a dollar seventy-five. Worst still was the shrinkflation in the size and quality of the fish filets. Prices rose and still some trucks started serving what was essentially fried batter with the mere suggestion of fish. And after the pandemic, I fear it'll never be the same. Recently, I went out to hunt for my old lunch plate of 4 fish tacos under $8 and found the median price of a decent fish taco is now well above $3. The Dollar Fish Taco is my metric for measuring the inflation and growing cost of living in San Diego, alongside the once $5 carne asada burritos and $6 carne asada fries. And really, I can afford whatever price our crack-like fish tacos are these days. But it's the principal. That feeling of a good deal you can taste. Scrolling through yelp and menu photos, I accepted defeat. Fish Tacos were no longer the poor man's realm. Looking for any nearby fish taco, I chanced upon El Sabor's page. I realized there is a God. I made my way to Him. I say this because in my search for this random truck in Eastlake, an area where already you'd not expect to find a truck like this, I quite literally found myself at God's House. El Sabor is tucked between Eastlake High and Parkway Hills Church, parked peacefully in the lower church lot. Hallelujah. Better still, I happened to come on Tuesday. Taco Tuesday doesn't seem to be a thing anywhere anymore (in terms of taco deals) so I didn't expect much. But here, the fish tacos are $1.90 on Tuesdays! Oh sweet nostalgia, I found you at last. My verbose, wordy ass will now actually talk about the tacos. They were divine. Soft, warm tortilla, tender with a slight chew, a mix of thin sliced cabbage and light dab of pico de gallo, both creamy chipotle and creamy cilantro sauces lovingly drizzled over the gold buillon that were the hefty and perfectly fried fish. The batter is so crisp, and has that great slight eggy flavor, and the fish itself-- flaky, still moist, huge in size, and so damn good. Come here for fish tacos. Even if it's not Tuesday, you'll be getting one of the best fish tacos in Chula Vista and San Diego in general. Five stars. Please tip my guys well, they're doing the Lord's work. read more

Okay so I see this truck has grown during a pandemic and i says to myself 'self, NOW is the time to try this pandemic-proof birria' but the spot is out of birria. That's protip número uno: show up early; the birria runs out. Protip 2: taco Tuesday is the best deal for birria tacos. Two tacos per person (three if youre a hungry growing lad such as yours truly) and brunch is handled. Protip 3: the Salsas are amazing. I was only able to try two, but I think there are two more. The red salsa is tiny but mighty and amped up my birria considerably. The soy-sauce-colored birria salsa was very tasty as well though not as hot. There's a chipotle one available too. The place likes to tout itself as the best birria in town and yea that's debatable, but I'm willing to concede it's the best birria east of the 805. And probably the best deal in town. The bad: ticket times were surprisingly slow for only a handful of customers. you gotta ask for napkins. And more salsa. And more limes. The ugly: Staff wasn't wearing gloves. read more

Even though there are a number of good Mexican restaurants near us while El Sabor De La Baja 2 is about a half hour drive away, we go there at least once a week (usually Taco Tuesday) because we find the quality to be well worth the drive. The fish tacos are delicious--freshly cooked, crispy fillets and a variety of tasty sauces--and are only $1.90 each on Tuesdays (and are still a bargain at $3.00 on other days). read more

It's amazing to have a good truck near Eastlake and we'll say it's worth the try . I went for a breakfast order can say it tasted delicious for the first visit I go. Absolutely love this taco truck!! It's a a staple to authentic Mexican mariscos and dishes made with love! I can never resist coming here whenever I have a seafood craving. Their aguachiles are delicious, especially the red(preeettty spicy, try green if you aren't that into spice) nonetheless the birria tacos are SO BOMB and fish tacos are always on point! They're not stingy with their servings either, they always load up all their tacos with allllll the fixings! Nothing tops this taco truck compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. This place is not what it used to be. I'm pretty sure they changed ownership and since then the quality has not been the same. Food has been terrible all the recent times I have visited as well as the customer service. Ordered a almost $7 spicy shrimp taco and was given a plain shrimp taco no spice for the price of a spicy one. Very very disappointed in their service. I tried to phone in an order. They answered the call (didn't say anything) but immediately went to the customers standing in line. Which I totally understand. And then there was no response from them. And there were no more orders being taken. A lull of at least 5 mins. And then they proceeded to take more orders. I only stayed on the phone to see how long this was gonna last as i was already driving there!!! It lasted for almost 20 mins. Long enough for me to hear them tell the last customer that they were not taking anymore orders...just as I was pulling into the parking lot! And only then did they hang up the phone!!! This place has the best friend tacos in town hands down. The prices are very reasonable and the quality of the food is consistently excellent. The rolled tacos are very tasty as well as are there quesadillas. They make their own salsa which taste very good and goes well with any of the seafood that they sell. The staff is always friendly and they are always very prompt with the orders even when they are busy. I usually eat here every week and I don't ever get tired of their delicious shrimp tacos. We had fish ceviche, fish and shrimp tacos and it was just like eating in Ensenada!! this food truck is one of my favorite in town. Im gunna make two key recommendations. Number one Fish Ceviche, by far one of the best. They serve it in small chunks absolutely delicious. Instead I was told that if I was not satisfied with their servicié then i can go somewhere else.
