Was this place sold recently? I have been loyal to 3 Chicas for years but the last two times I have ordered from there, the food has been sub par. I always order the fajita vegetable burrito and the last two times it has been primarily filled with rice, limited guacamole and they even added a few pieces of meat, even though they are suppose to be totally vegetable. Needless to say, I went back again after having this happened once but from now on, I'm going to Chipotle or Blue Moon. During my first pregnancy I literally ate there 2 or 3 times a week but this time, I'm going elsewhere. read more

Every time I come here I get charged a different price, even if it is something I've ordered in the past. I think they also charge extra on the weekend. The food is good MOST of the time. If you get takeout make sure to check your order before you drive off because they've given me burnt food before and I've had to come back. The portions are also quite small. read more

This is the worst "Mexican" food I've ever paid money for, and I've ordered Mexican food from Koreans in Queens, NY. The flavors were awful, the chorizo was bland (how is that even possible?), and my enchiladas, if you can call them that, were cold. One visit is more than enough for me, thanks. read more

For being NJ - this place has great Mexican food. I am originally from California and have a hard time finding real Mexican food on the East Coast. So I must say, they have great guacamole, yummy fish tacos and a decent wet burrito. The only thing that bothers me is their use of plastic and Styrofoam. Had the tacos with the chipotle salsa last night. It was very good!! It had the right amount of kick and was cooked to perfection. The decor was ok, the place was cozy and somewhere you can stop in and grab a nice bite. The price was very reasonable, and I think I will be back again. read more

Great for takeout. Solid burritos, enchiladas, arroz con pollo, quesadillas, rice, salsa and guac. The food is always fresh. The kitchen is right out in the open and always clean. Coupons are pretty easy to come by too. read more

May 5, 2018 - I placed an order by phone: 1 regular meal and 2 specials, the total was $30. When I went to pick up my food - I was told $38 . We decided to come here for a quick bit. Even though the burritos were a good portion, the food was blend. But what turned us off were the people preparing the food. There was a woman with long nails who was slicing, dicing and preparing food without using gloves. Would I go back? Probably not. Also the place look dated. read more

I don't understand why this place has good reviews. I ordered my Carne Asada rare and got a few strips of over-cooked/reheated beef in a large bed of onions. It would have been more accurate to call it "Jerked Beef". The accompanying rice and beans were bland. I will not go back. read more

If you give this place more than 3 stars then you have never had good mexican food. The rice and beans are bland almost to the point of me not being able to eat them. The Goya beans that you get out of a can in the grocery store are better than their beans. This place has obviously never heard of salt or seasoning. The only good thing about this place is that the veggies appear to be fresh. That being said, you could enjoy a taco w/it's loaded tomatoes, onions, and cilantro but if your meal doesn't have a mound of that on it, then you might as well go to Chipotle and get something with flavor. I've been to this place 3 times, each time hoping my last visit was a fluke but each time I am disappointed by the lack of flavor. I make better mexican at home and I'm Italian. I came here for a second time recently, the first time being this past summer. Both times, I found the food to be subpar. The service was great, however, so no complaints there. The chicken in my fajita tasted a little rubbery in my opinion. My party consisted of myself, and 4 other people and in total we spent almost $95! We're not insatiable eaters mind you, so I would agree with other reviewers that 3 Chicas is overpriced. I'm open minded, SO I'm willing to give it one more shot, perhaps in the Spring. read more

Stopped here for lunch and was very impressed. I ordered the solo steak taco, veggie taco, and chicken taco. All three were bursting with favor and you definitely got your money's worth because the tacos were bursting at the seams. Highly recommend for the taco foodie. My boyfriend got the carnitas platos and said the pork was cooked to perfection, "Melts in your mouth." Will definitely be coming back. read more

Way overpriced for Mexican food. The enchiladas were horrible. The carne asada was ok. This place couldn't hold a candle to anywhere in the southwest, but in NJ its above average. The food here is usually pretty good and authentic. However, tonight I realized it is best to take out than dine in! About half way through my meal they started mopping the floor in the section behind us with some cleaner that had a smell so strong I couldn't taste my food! My verbal complaint was virtually ignored. That was simply one of the most stupid things I've encountered while eating in a restaurant. Won't be going back there any time soon. read more

Not bad at all...A small storefront with both take out and sit down, with a very good and very fresh assortment of all the basic Mexican dishes. No table service but everything is prepared to order by, I assume, the three Chica's behind the counter. I am not from San Francisco, so I guess I don't know what good Mexican food is, but I have spent alot of time in Mexico on business over the past 35 years. If you're looking for very good Meixican I guess you can't go wrong with a few places in NYC, but for northern NJ I think this is a cut above everything else around. Everything my wife and I ordered was prepared well, except the beans were tepid not hot, and extremely tasty. I would have liked to see a slightly larger selection of complimentary salsas and if they offered totillas with salsa, while waiting for your dinner to be prepared, it would have been much better. It would also have been better if they sold beer with dinner but I guess they don't have a liquor license. I'm a fan, I'm going back again for a quick bite. read more

Been coming here for many years and the food is always great. Clean, flavorful, delicious. Their side condiments bar has delicious home made sauces that really enhance each meal.. I get their fish tacos w black beans and guac most often now but I use to get their steak fajitas when I was young. Both are great and from what I can remember my previous co workers and other family members have always enjoyed the menu item's they've ordered from here too. Whatever it is you get just remember to grabs some of the side salsa's/sauces and jalepenos from the self serve bar. read more

LOVE the food here. Fresh, quality ingredients & very authentic. I usually get a chicken quesadilla or burrito lunch. For $11, You walk out feeling like there is a brick in your bag! Tons of food. By far my favorite mexican place to go, over Blue Moon and Chipotle ANY DAY. The food is consistently delicious. Their veggie fajitas are seasoned and cooked the BEST i have ever had. And I order them everywhere I go. The prices are a little expensive but WORTH IT for fresh food. There isn't table service but who cares because you don't have to pay tip... so there's the few dollars difference right there. The place is great! I go at least 3 times per month. This place has taken a very bad turn. Prices have been increased tremendously. An enchilada was 8.99 very reasonable and it has been bumped to 11.99 as an example of just one increase. I have been priced out of going here all of a sudden. And it isn't even like they have a nice atmosphere inside it is a very small place. So for take out food for a whole family you are now paying expensive "eat-in" prices. No thanks not anymore for me. read more
