Until recently, I was a pretty regular customer at Three Graces, but I was really put off by how one customer was treated. When she came in, the baristas told her they couldn't serve her anymore because of an "incident" a few weeks ago. I don't doubt that it happened, and it sounded like it was contentious, but when I talked to a fellow customer, they said that this woman has been a respected member of the community for decades whose overall character is unimpeachable and that what had happened was clearly an isolated incident. They essentially called BS on the shop's reasoning for banning her (which, and I quote, was "Well, we have to work here."). It was very troubling that this is how Three Graces treats a community member they decide they don't like. If this person had been harassing customers regularly, I could understand refusing service, but that was clearly not the case here; it's clear that they will pick and choose who to serve based on something that makes them uncomfortable (let's face it: human beings have conflicts from time to time - not everything is a titanic battle for truth and justice). It smacks of self-righteousness and intolerance, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. It's also very expensive. read more
