Always helps when you know what you're craving and can find it quickly! Seafood boil was perfect. These seasoned. Grateful for the gloves and the cocktail! Decorated as expected without going overboard without being garish or over the top. Service was friendly.

We've had shrimp boil prior but what sets this one apart is it comes fully seasoned and dry. It isn't swimming in a bag of sauce. It was "neater" & easier to eat. We only ordered these two dishes for the three of us & it was more than enough. The gumbo paired very well with Creole seasoning of the shrimp & crab boil. These were sweet & soft, too! The dining hall is very casual with large tables for big groups / families. Food was served within 15 minutes of ordering. The wait staff checked in often. She. was very friendly & pleasant. After a day of walking & exploring, it was such a relaxed meal that we truly enjoyed eating with our hands!

So glad we came here, the crawfish boil came in 3lbs and it was perfect for the 3 of us. It was seasoned great, I do wish there was more potatoes, corn and sausage. My mom got the catfish and that was also excellent, cleaned really well so it wasn't murky tasting and she didn't get sick! (She has a sensitive stomach). We'll definitely come back the next time we're in town.

1st seafood boil, and I'm still thinking about it. Good food, good company, good times. Unfortunately, crawfish season is January-July, so we didn't have any, but the Shrimp Joubilee combo platter we got was amazing nonetheless. The shrimp, sausage, and potatoes were soaked in the salty, spicy, buttery, and intensely garlic sauce. There was certainly no shortage of flavor here. The snow crab and corn were ok as they didn't absorb up the flavors as much, but still good. We also got their Boudin Balls as an appetizer, and they were perfectly crispy and seasoned! The aioli paired well with the balls too. The restaurant is well decorated, and our waiter was so kind and down to earth. He helped us decide on what to get, especially this being our first time. Great food, lovely service, and highly highly recommend coming here!

Good food. It's a 2-story restaurant. The 2nd floor has the live band, so can be noisy. The restroom is on the second floor as well. The service was great; very friendly and attentive. Got my boiled crawfish I wanted and a side of red beans and rices the crawfish must order 3lbs but it was great for sharing. It was a good birthday meal.

    On point cocktails!

Recommend! Stopped in for a quick appetizer and drink. We ordered crab cakes and some cocktails. The drinks were on point. One of the best Mint Julep in NOLa. The crabcakes were full of flavors and ultra tasty! Stop in, sit at the bar and enjoy!

This place was recommended to us by our hotel staff and we were happy to say that the shrimp and crab boil was delicious!! Perfectly seasoned (with a little spice) and they allowed me to substitute some extra potato instead of the andouille sausage. It was soooo yummy! We used the sauce to dip the potato and every other thing we could think of. My son got the friend chicken with red beans and rice. The beans were great, smoky and flavorful. But while the chicken was fried well (nice and crispy) there wasn't much seasoning. He ended up using the seasoning from my boil to add flavor. The ambiance is fun...kind of local flair with indoor/outdoor vibes. The bathrooms were upstairs...which can be a little annoying if you have to rush (waiting for the elevator every time was a bit irritating). And the service was adequate. Got the job done...not overly nice but not rude either. Kept it pretty professional and steady without feeling ignored. We would def come back if in the area again bc the whole the boil was a little on the pricey side, the food was worth it.

The food was delicious! We are already planning our next trip back to come here during crawfish season! The gloves and bib that were given to use! LOVED ALL OF IT! I'm not a fan of getting food under my nails. So this was a great service given by the staff! They were friendly and helpful. It wasn't busy when we arrived so we were seated right away. The had tables, high tops, and a bar area. Can't wait for the next time.

A good place to grab something to eat in the French Quarter while out sightseeing. The corn was so good with a nice kick to it and crawfish basket is the best.

Our server was amazing, very attentive and accommodating. It's right in the middle of everything and the hours are good, so it's a very convenient option. The food was all very good. I would recommend the snow crab legs.

    Chicken & sausage gumbo

First try and visit in NOLA travelers, we sat on the balcony upstairs. Atmosphere was relaxing. Live music inside the building second floor was loud (hurting ears), but once we were outside the balcony, the music stopped, probably they r on break. . By the time we r about to go, they were back. So sad couldn't hear their singing and playing much. Food here was very salty. We ordered chicken & sausage gumbo, crawfish étoufféé & jambalaya! Both the gumbo and the étoufféé were super salty. For the crawfish dish, I expected there were real crawfish (w shells). However there was not. I disappointed bc I saw other restaurants had crawfish w shells on their menu but not theirs. Their food was overpriced. For the price like that, I expected more and tasted better. ~~7/2/26

Stopped in for lunch while on a friends trip. Ordered our food and then noticed a strange smell. I think their drains were backed up. The food was tasty but we got out of there fast cause of the smell.

Walking in at 1:30 on a beautifully sunny Wed, we fully expected a wait. Instead, our two empty seats beckoned to us like a pretty girl winking at us across a bar in college. Marvin has been promoted to Beverage Manager. He left his bar in very good hands. The two young dudes carrying his torch were great. Very friendly and well aware each time we finished our drink and needed a reload. They're well-trained in the art of concocting the Sazerac we love. Sitting for 2 hours watching the regular turnover of the precious seats at the Carousel is still big fun. And having a friendly chat with the constant turnover of strangers sitting next to us is part of the unique charm of the Carousel Bar. As we were leaving Corey the bartender let us know management is shutting down next month for a few weeks for much needed repairs & renovations so the Carousel can add another 50-60 years to its legacy.

The cocktail list looked interesting, but the two we had tasted pretty standard, inline with what you'd expect from a hotel bar (it is inside Hotel Monteleone). There is a small bar bites menu - the Cubano was tasty but a bit overpriced at $18. The service was okay. We ended up getting water from our server that brought us food as the bartenders were too busy making cocktails. There was a jazz band playing on Thursday night when we visited.

Before I start, this is my review based on my experience. I've noticed some people complain about…read morethe music, paying the cover charge, seating or the size of the venue. I'm not here to argue any of those points. I will say this: expecting live musicians to perform for free until you decide whether they're worth paying is ridiculous. The cover is usually only $5...$10 max. If that's a dealbreaker, this probably isn't your place. Stay home and stream Spotify. Now... I have some friends in town, and whenever that happens, a Monday night trip to the Spotted Cat is basically mandatory. I've been coming here for years and years. Yes, it's super touristy now, but it still gives me the warm fuzzies every time I walk through those doors. So I'm presenting the "compliment sandwich" review. Never heard of it? You start with a compliment, slip in some constructive-ish criticism, then end with another compliment. Supposedly people receive feedback better that way. Let's see. First, the music. Outstanding. Chris Christy wasn't what I thought I wanted to hear until I actually heard him. I felt completely transported. Man, can that guy play the guitar. It felt kinda like gypsy music. Then came the Frenchmen Street Allstars. The last time I saw them, they had a different lead singer and, honestly, they kind of felt like a completely different band, aside from the phenomenal drummer. This version did not disappoint. It was a great mix of jazz and New Orleans standards. Both bands were great! **Now a note to management.** Great music isn't enough. The bar should be every bit as memorable as the stage. Forgive me, I didn't get the bartenders' names, so I have to describe them by physical traits. The first bartender, the guy with the mountain of curly hair, was friendly enough and made decent drinks. Later, another bartender with a short haircut took over and made the best drinks of the night. Then there was the bartender with the black and hot pink hair. She looked like she'd rather be anywhere else. She rarely smiled, her demeanor felt unwelcoming, and it almost came across as hostile. On top of that, the drinks she made were so weak I genuinely wondered if there was any alcohol in them. Seriously. They were that bad. Here's my philosophy: if you're going to be grumpy, aloof, or have some other off-putting trait, you'd better make a mean drink. Years and years ago there was a bartender named Curtis who wasn't exactly sunshine and rainbows, but that man could make a cocktail. I didn't need him to smile because the drink did all the talking. If the drink is mostly soda, though, friendliness becomes a lot more important. Unfriendly and bad bartending is a double whammy. She must be somebody's child or partner because I can't think of any other reason to employ a bad bartender. I hate to belabor the point, but the drinks aren't cheap. Cheap and bad I can take. For another comparison, there's another bartender there, I'm pretty sure her name is Chris. She's been there for years. She's all business. Maybe a little surly. Who am I kidding? A lot surly. But she's a character. More importantly, she makes a great drink. That's the kind of personality that somehow fits the Spotted Cat perfectly. Now let me end with the final piece of "bread" on my compliment sandwich. The doorman deserves his own review. That gravelly-voiced "Welcome to the Spotted Cat!" is part of the experience. Then he absolutely hammers that stamp onto your wrist. Somehow you don't even mind because you know what's waiting on the other side: incredible music, a fun room, and one of the best nights you can have on Frenchmen Street. Just don't let the bartender with the pink and black hair make your drink.

We had a great time, chatted with other patrons and a few of the band members. Good drinks, prices are on the higher end at ~$15, but still affordable. I had a Pimm's cup which was refreshing, they are served in souvenir to go cups that are really cute. Glad we decided to stay! A great time was had.
