If you're looking for food with a story and you're curious about the who's, how's and why's of every ingredient, this place is for you. Makes you feel like you're in a secret dining club or something. A hostess will greet you out in front of the building, and lead you upstairs to what appears like someone's apartment. But, this building basically has a bunch of small businesses located in said apartments. It is intimate, with literally about a dozen seats. But, the foraging and the research and results of many trials that Chef Jay will bring to you, is very apparent in each bite. Seasonal menus are curated here, as well as a playlist and specific song for each dish. Everything is very intentional, and you are able to add on special items, too. An absolutely unforgettable private dining experience for our group of eight at Three Three Seven. From the moment we arrived, the evening felt special. Beginning in the nostalgic living room for happy hour immediately set the tone -- warm, intimate, and full of character. It felt less like entering a restaurant and more like being welcomed into a beautifully curated memory. The 11-course experience was extraordinary, but what truly elevated it was Chef J's storytelling before every dish. Each course came with a thoughtful narrative -- where the ingredients were sourced, the personal memories that inspired the dish, and the story behind its creation. This added an entirely new layer to the meal, almost like an additional "texture" and "flavor" beyond what was on the plate. Hearing those stories evoked memories and emotions of our own, making every bite more meaningful and immersive. What an experience. When you know the "why" behind something it completely changes the experience. It definitely makes you feel more connected. We arrived at 6:45 and the other 6 people were there on time as well so we all walked up with the hostess. When you walk in, it's very nostalgic. They have an old tv playing movies and other memorabilia. There are two couches to sit on and we were given a sparkling rose for the happy hour. We all sat and chatted until they started calling us in one group at a time. When you enter the dining/kitchen area, the seating is set up in groups of two and we all faced the kitchen. Chef Jay explained how the evening would go and then someone came around to take the orders- add ons, etc. There is some really cool art work and it was fun to watch the chefs at work. As I said earlier, the stories behind the food give it so much more texture. Not only is the food great, you're understanding why you're sitting there eating that particular course. Everything we ate was so flavorful and balanced. My favorites were the oyster and the drumstick. The oyster was huge and meaty and everything the chef added complimented it. The drumstick was absolutely fantastic. The chicken skin was crispy and caviar was the perfect topping. Chef Jay is certainly talented! The only thing I would change is offering drinks by the glass. You can only add on the wine tasting at this time. Chef Jay said this was a new wine selection that he curated himself. My husband and I finally got to see this place and how amazing was it. We did the 6 course meal and it was a splendid experience. The head chef told his story through the plates. Naveah maître d' was on top of it and the sommelier was super knowledgeable. There were only 10 seats available which makes it a very intimate experience. The only one thing I will say is was it was pretty cold in the place so bring a jacket! Definitely interested going back for the 11 course menu! read more

I want to start off by saying that please do not be deterred by my rating! If i could i would do a 3.5/5! To start: such a great and neat experience! I definitely recommend it. It's unique, intimate and warm. Chef and his staff are absolutely welcoming, professional and kind. The setting is charming and quiet. Very well put together! The food was good, some items were delicious and other items were okay. What really upset me the most was the wine pairing. I do not recommend adding this on. Approximately $120 (6 glasses). The price wouldn't have been such a big deal if the wine served was actually good and if the pours were actually full not just 3oz pours. Sorry but not even NAPA wineries charge $120 for tastings! On-top of that, they paired the dessert course with Roscato (literally a $10 bottle you can find at any grocery store). I highly recommend going to wineries and snagging wine bottles that can only be bought at the winery. And to add, two of the six tastings did not pair well with the course, the wine tasted bitter after. I was extremely disappointed in that and thats the main reason im leaving a 3 star review. read more

We did the Six at Seven and every course felt like a story, Chef Jay Fernell, a Louisiana native, combines southern soul food that have meaning to him growing up with California freshness in a way that's both comforting and elevated. Honestly, I almost don't want to leave a review because I know it'll just make it harder to get a reservation... but it's too good not to share. Chef Jay is incredible. The whole experience feels like you're dining in someone's chic loft in Soho, New York with black walls, wood floors, and seating for only eight guests at a time. What a wonderful experience we had! This hidden gem had been on my radar since the pandemic. We arrived at a historical landmark 2 story building on a busy street. Three Three Seven is located on the second floor. We were buzzed in and a kind lady escorted us up the stairs. The calm and observant Chef Jay delighted us with stories behind each dish. All of our senses were engaged as we soaked in the stories and took each bite, while another diner exclaimed, "It's the Ratatouille moment-- where the food critic is brought back to his childhood after a bite".
