I wanted something healthy and satisfying for breakfast when on vacation with my husband. I searched Yelp and found Thrive. I knew I wanted more than just a juice or smoothie so I was excited to see that had smoothie bowls! The vibe was great- it reminded me of a shop you would find in Nashville. The staff working was very friendly even at 7:30 am. I got the berry bowl and added cocoa nibs to the top. It was so tasty and very filling. I couldn't finish! My husband got the berries bowl which was essentially berries and granola and almond milk...maybe some yogurt? It was jacked up cereal and he loved it. The salad bar also looked yummy! I love love this place! A rarity in this parts where you can have a hearty and nutritious meal of salads and smoothies. I had a large salad bowl of local greens, topped with organic kale shredded carrots, zoodles, roasted mushrooms, roasted corn, basically whatever your heart desires. I threw in a side of broccoli salad. I wanted a smoothie but thought it might be too much so I opted for an iced tea in their refrigerator. My husband had a small salad and PB cookie. I would love to see more of this kind of restaurant in more parts of Acadia. A good and healthy break from all the lobsters establishments. read more

My favorite place in Bar Harbor for healthy, gluten-free, vegan as well as non-vegetarian breakfast and lunch options. For breakfast we enjoyed the Local - a breakfast bowl with your choice of granola or quinoa with fresh Maine blueberries, bananas, strawberries and hemp seeds. For lunch we tried the make your own salad bar as well as the pre-made sandwiches, a choice of faux "tuna" salad (made with garbanzo beans) or a light chicken salad made with grapes and walnuts. We also enjoyed the green detox juice as well as green and fruit smoothies. And finally, the staff was super friendly and they had a cute small outdoor sitting area. Yum! read more

In a town filled with the same commercial filler foods, we were pleasantly surprised to find this gem tucked away on a side street. I got their soup of the day (curry potato chickpea - amazing) and my husband made his own salad from the salad bar. Everything was delicious - the staff is so nice and friendly. I ate here a few times in my stay at Acadia and loved it so much. The customizable salads are SO GOOD and they have a large variety of choices of what to put in it, so it will be sure to fit many peoples tastes. I put in a bunch of things I enjoyed and it made a very unique and absolutely delicious salad bursting with flavor, while being very affordable. It also manages to fill you up unlike other salads I eat and is a very healthy place! I also got a smoothie with each meal and they were also full of flavor and tasty, being that I love fruits! This place was my absolute favorite in Bar Harbor, hands down!! We went there many, many times during our week long visit. The smoothies are delicious and fresh and the salad bar is AMAZING!! My favorite salad bar items were the chipotle BBQ cauliflower and the sweet potato lentil cakes. My favorite only two complaints were the hours (we literally RAN the last half of our hike one day to make it here in time and I just wish they were open a bit later, till 5 or 6), and the vegan "baked goods." I do a lot of vegan baking and it always makes me sad when I buy vegan treats that taste bland or yucky, because vegan desserts can be SO good and I don't want anyone to think they're not. But they still get 5 stars because this place has amazing salads, juices, smoothies, and super friendly employees! read more

This place was really bad. Spent the day hiking in Acadia. Went looking for burritos--couldn't find any. Settled for a raw vegan gluten free juice bar. Big mistake. The only edible part about the Tropical smoothie bar was the pineapple. 12 bucks later and still hungry, I'm going next door to get some onion rings. read more

Just like the other reviews, it was a treat to come upon Thrive while in Bar Harbor, and after one visit, I made sure to go at least once a day every day for the remainder of my vacation. I tried mostly their 'Green' options, and man oh man their smoothie bowls are superb! On my last visit, I quietly sulked in my head upon how much more I wanted to try. I don't know whens the next time I will be in Bar Harbor but I know for sure I want Thrive to be there, so alongside enjoying their menu I bought one of their hats (the only souvenir of Bar Harbor I really wanted). Make sure you all visit Thrive when in Bar Harbor, so worth it. read more

Thrive is an excellent option for healthy, fresh snacks/meals for people on the go. We come from a healthy mountain town as well and I didn't want to spend my time at Acadia filling my body with tourist crap (fudge and fried flavorless you name it). This place is the BEST!! Went there to get a drink before work and I got Blueberry Brekky. It was amazing! It kept me going through the day. We went here three times during our one week stay! The shakes are amazing! I had the energy balls, Chocolate Indulgence (banana, raw cocoa nibs, peanut butter, flax, dates and almond milk plus a protein powder add-on) twice and then the Rise and Shine. This place is extremely difficult. I'm allergic to kiwi and asked to have strawberries instead because I'm allergic and they charged me extra. Seriously I have an allergy and you got to keep your kiwi so why the extra charge. Will not visit again due to their unwillingness to work with me. read more
