This place is amazing. They roast their own coffee in back and it is delicious. The staff are all so friendly and attentive. They always keep a large number of staff working so you don't have to wait long for your coffee. I am so glad to see the owner kept employees working, even during the slow times when we couldn't sit inside because of Covid. Great cup of coffee! Pricey, but great! I finished it all in one gulp because it's so damn tasty. The cups that use are recyclable, I guess that makes me feel good that I'm somewhat being conscious of the environment consuming coffee. Oh, the cushion seats are super comfy! I've been coming to Thruline for years, and consider myself a regular. They offer amazing coffee roasted on-sight, tasty pastries and a panini kitchen coming soon! The manager, Craig, and his skilled team of baristas greet many customers by name and craft fantastic beverages in a welcoming, unpretentious community environment. The cafe is filled with tables and chairs, and the walls are lined with pictures of regular customers, creating a laid back social atmosphere. Outdoor seating along Kirkland's quant Park Lane offers a perfect place to sip coffee with friends (two and four legged) and people watch. It's hard to find a good espresso milkshake so imagine my surprise when the baristas persuaded me to try one when I popped in for a quick coffee! I can't resist an espresso milkshake, ever. I'll drive all sixty miles round trip for the best one I've ever had (DON'T JUSGE ME; I like to drive!). This is hands down the best espresso milkshake I've had since Renaissance Cafe in Tacoma closed its doors. It's so good that often times the staff will make sure there are extras for them to drink. The atmosphere was warm and inviting; there appeared to be a few students and entrepreneurs working and chatting. Would definitely work remotely from here if I needed a change of pace. I had some time after doing some work in Kirkland and wasn't going to get picked up for another 30 minutes so I decided to pop into some coffee shop. I don't know how I found this place in the first place because it was kind of hidden and it took me a while to actually find my way to it (mostly because Apple maps was taking me in circles). The atmosphere was super comfortable and the decor was kind of unique to me with all the portraits on the wall. There were many tables so there was lots of options for seating. All 3 baristas working that morning were super friendly. They gave me a student discount (which is always a plus) and were just smiling throughout the whole time I was talking to them. I got my drink pretty quick as well so A+ for the service. I ordered the basic white chocolate mocha but oh wow it was wonderful. I've had places make them too sweet or too bland but this was a perfect mix. Definitely made my morning. I haven't been back since because I live pretty far from Kirkland but next time I'll be in town, I'll make sure to stop by again! read more

Coffee here are strong. Just as I prefer it. I often get black coffee but when I know they use quality beans: in house roasting: I try others just for flavors. So far/ cappuccinos, lattes and then some. All great. Extra shots of espressos help! And the most exciting thing of all ~ for me at least is that they hang portraits of their regulars on the wall!! It's fun watching their wall portraits grow! Oh look! I even see some of my friends on there! This is my goto spot when I'm in Kirkland. People are great. I typically pop by about once a month after going to an appointment close by. This location is wonderfully decorated, it never feels too full or too dark; but the dark wood tables and low lighting always feels like a great spot to either hang out and study or enjoy a quick bite or pick-me-up drink. There are plenty of types of coffee if you're a premium roast connoisseur, teas in a satchel if that's your style, but what I love most are their tea lattes. I've had the chai and london fog (each with soy milk) and they were fantastic! They can set up accounts (if you plan on being a regular) and I love how they call your drink by name. Considering how busy they get, it makes it easy to ensure that nobody snags your drink. Great spot and right next to a bakery with some great dessert bars and gluten-free cupcakes! read more

Nice baristas. Got a mocha. Sometimes it's hard for me to say much about the espresso when I get a mocha bc the chocolate flavor is overpowering. I had a vanilla latte earlier in the day already so didnt wanna get another one. Too much coffee, but I can't say no to trying out new spots. The mocha was good. 4 star good. To me, Café Rococo helps fill the void of the now defunct Kahili Coffee that used to be my go-to coffee spot in downtown Ktown. I've been really impressed by the espresso at Rococo and I like that I can get service faster, and there are more places to sit than Café Zoka around the corner. (I love Zoka too though). I'm a business dude, so I measure most of my coffee shop experiences by how well I can have a productive business meeting at this location but not feel like I'm in a churn and burn coffee shop where there is no neighborhood ambience and character. Good coffee shops help foster connections with the people you spend time with there and I can attest that Rococo is one of those places. Maybe it's the fact that it's surrounded by art galleries and boutique antique shops, or that you can step outside and be in the middle of the action between Cactus, Milagros, Tiki Joe's etc. To sum it up, Café Rococo is a welcome new addition to the Kirkland scene and I look forward to trying the myriad of drinkable goodness they have to offer. read more

I'm pretty sure I haven't had their coffee yet, but I love their pastries and love how helpful they were when I came looking for "gluten-free food" for my sweetie. The location is pretty big and I've had some nice interactions with the staff... especially the older gentleman who is frequently at the cashier station. I'm not sure why exactly, but this is one of those spots that feels a little European to me. I'm not sure if it's the decor, the delicious chocolate croissant, or something else... but I like it. While it doesn't seem as popular as its rival down the street, Thruline fared better in our taste test. Though the beans (an Ethiopian, probably dry-processed) were definitely a medium roast, they didn't have any charred notes that I detected in their rival's brew. I prefer light roasts but can respect that others like their beans with more roast on them. read more

I sat outside and watched the world go by as I leisurely sipped my coffee. My friend also had the biscotti and her comments were 'very very good, incredibly flavorful', so there you go. Second, the caffe itself is large, cozy, and inviting. A perfect place for me to do some reading and writing! Third, and why only 4 stars, the treats were a little on the skimpy side, but with coffee as good as this, I'm willing to overlook it. I'm really disappointed with myself for not writing a review sooner. This has been my "go-to" coffee shop for over a year now. I love walking in to see familiar faces with some of the best customer service in the area. The coffee is roasted in house and delicious. I actually had the best Sumatra (which I don't normally care for) I've ever tasted a couple weeks ago. There are free refills and you're even encouraged to grab a cup for the road on your way out the door. The wifi is free for a few hours which coordinates well with the parking limits in town. I am a huge fan of the location and will opt to sit outside on a nice summer day. The final thing I'll say is that the oatmeal here is amazing. I have them use less water than normal as it can get a little soupy but it is delicious and done just right with this adjustment. Always plenty of space for meetings big and small. Great work/study spot. This place is really awesome for working and studying. The WiFi is not super fast but it is free and definitely usable. The environment is both good and bad. Honestly the photos on the wall are a bit confusing and maybe weird to me. But other than that it is a good spot to sit down, put headphones on and concentrate on your work. Simple review - good coffee shop, but... The walls are completely covered by portraits of customers, which happen to nearly all white faces. As this might be a well meaning gesture towards your customers, it seems unnecessarily in-your-face unfriendly to people of color. I wish cafe's would have their own parking lot but like most places, this place does not. Thankfully I was able to find parking fairly quickly but it was about a block away which isn't too bad. But i know parking can get pretty bad during lunch and during the weekends! Definitely worth the hassle though! I ordered a 12oz vanilla latte and a homemade apple cinnamon oatmeal. Both came out fairly quickly! The vanilla latte was pretty good. I don't consider myself a coffee expert or anything but compared to other places, its better than average. Just the perfect amount of coffee and milk and the milk was perfectly steamed. Plus, I didn't have that feeling of the coffee poop afterwards ;) hahaha.. At first glance, the oatmeal didn't look appealing but after mixing it up and tasting it, it was delicious. I would have ordered a breakfast sandwich but I just had an orthodontist appoint so my teeth were in pain. A good ratio of apple and cinnamon. I didn't get an overly taste of either one. The place is a good place to study. I wasn't there long enough to check if there were outlets but there were plenty of tables. If all the tables in the front are full, theres some on the other side of the barista stand. The internet wasn't super fast but I didn't have problems with it. It is fairly loud but I'm the type of person to do work while listen to music anyways. The employees were fairly nice as well. My only complaints are the "booth" chairs. Wish the photo frames weren't right behind the booth chairs so that I can lean against the wall. If you're in downtown kirkland, make sure to check out this coffee shop! read more

I live in Kirkland, and I'm an author. So that means I spend a lot of time writing in Caffe Rococo. I've been through most of the menu, and it doesn't disappoint. All of their espresso is fantastic, and has spoiled me away from lesser coffee. I'm also currently infatuated with their matcha latte, which can be made iced and brought down to the beach a short walk away. Try the affogato if you want a bittersweet espresso gelato creation from heaven. The mocha is always a good choice for those with more of a sweet tooth. The baristas here are all super friendly and know me by name. They have a points system, which is handy when you feel like trading points for a free cherry cream cheese danish or other delight. Rococo is a great place to get some work done, though it can be quite popular and crowded earlier in the afternoon. Try sitting on the street in the sun, though those tables go fast. I enjoyed the cold-brewed smoothness of the toddy during the summer, but needed something warm in the fall so they offered to steam it for me! (Such darlings!) That became my regular and they remembered, even! Every time they accommodated me-and I appreciate it! Such a great local feel and not expensive, especially for those that live and work in the area (like myself). EXCELLENT! I really love finding unique shops that are not replicated on every street corner. That is enough to fall in love with this shop. Don't think that is enough... How about the cozy seating. Great leather couches, window nooks, standing tables, tables for 4+ and plenty of wall outlets for those with many gadgets. Still not enough... How about great coffee selections from drip to fancy with several options of how to "accesorize" your drink... okay, still needing more... Stimulant for your eyes - there are so many people popping in and out because they too think this place is unique! There is also a wall of portraits which is amazing to look at. I wonder what each person in the photograph portrait was thinking when they had it taken... The only downer of this was its location and terrible parking. I like the vibe and service here and that is why they get four stars instead of three. Their coffee is good, but does not stand out to me relative to all the coffee gems in this area. We first tried a soy cappucino (to compare to Zoka's) and then I went back and tried the drip. In both cases, the coffee seems a little on the weaker, milder side. Caffe Rococo is truly an awesome little independent coffee shop right in the heart of Kirkland. Let me list off some of the reasons why I like this place... * They roast their own beans. Which to me means = these guys know what they're doing * Their coffee is awesome. Seriously. I've bought bags of their stuff and sent it to friends of mine in other cities whom I've raved about Rococo to. * They've got some great food options here. Stuff for breakfast. Stuff for lunch. Even plenty of healthy options if you're steering clear of the bread-y stuff. Have tried it all, but the stuff that I have tried (a panini sandwich in particular) has all been delicious. * Most of the staff that I've encountered here have been exceedingly friendly. I do occasionally encounter the aloof hipster-like barista, but all in all, I"ve found everyone here to be super nice. * These guys really do appreciate their customers and your business. So much so, that if you're a regular, you even get your portrait up on the wall. How cool is that??? Unfortunately, I can't say I've been enough of a regular yet to get my mug (pun intended) up on the wall, but I'm definitely going to keep at it. Absolutely love this place. Great ambiance, amazing tea lattes, and a friendly staff. I always get their soy London fog, and it's great every time. It's not overly sweet, but smooth and delightful. I also highly recommend their quiche. Besides their food, I love the environment of this cafe. It has a modern, wooden interior, and it has a very chill vibe that's great to get some work done or just chat with somebody. The cafe goes in deep, so there are more tables further in.
