The pulled pork is awesome and the shrimp taste and feel like fresh. They text you when ready so you don't have to stand in two lines.

His game plan was to…read morefigure out the perfect dinner spot where we could catch an epic Sanibel sunset, then still have enough time to roll over for a hallmark view of the July 4th fireworks. Mission accomplished. Lighthouse Waterfront is huge with a big dining rm on one side and another section closer to the left overlooking the outdoor deck sitting right on the water. If you're chasing sunset vibes, this deck is where it's at. We started with a dozen meaty oysters and a hot crab dip with crispy wontons to dip. For our main plates, hubs ordered the thick-cut bone-in pork chop and loved it while I went with the seasoned grilled swordfish. I had the Dubai Chocolate cocktail and I'll give them props for that pistachio rim and the dark chocolate drizzle.....that Hershey's syrup crap. The only downside was it could've packed a punch. But then again- between my recent trip to Miami/Ft Lauderdale and now Sanibel...I haven't had a drink that would know the shit out me here. No offense. Anyhow, to wrap things up, we shared a slice of key lime pie. That's basically mandatory when you're down here. It was good, but honestly, the real treat was watching that Sanibel sunset. Service was ok- I just wished our young server was more present. On the plus side, when he'd showed up, he made sure to help at any given moment. We finished dinner, headed out to the deck and soaked in every second of the sunset before making our way to catch the fireworks elsewhere.

So very disappointed. This used to be our favorite place to bring out of town guests. Not…read moreanymore. Where to start. 1)Our servers were amazing. 2) Drinks - pathetic. $16.00 for a lime martini that tasted like a melted popsicle and was a total of 6 oz. Tasted no alcohol. 3) crab dip a 3 inch skillet of carb dip with 10 small pita chips. No taste at all and $19.00. 4) shrimp with garlic and butter over linguini - it was basically pho soup. $28.00. 5) and the best of all. Lobster Mac n cheese. It was macaroni with (I kid you not) seafood bisque over top and a small ramekin of Parmesan cheese $50.00. The man playing music (nice island vibe) in the corner was so loud I could not hear my husband across the table. In fact most asked to move to the other side but it was closed off or outside because it was so loud. Did I mention it was 95 degrees. 5 or so parties were seated after us, and while we were not at all in a hurry, every one of them received their meals prior to us and left before we received our food. Our server felt bad so she offered us some bread for the extra wait. (Shouldn't that be standard). We didn't complain and paid the over $150.00 bill plus a nice tip and the 3% charge for using a card. No manager came to ask how the meal was and at this point we were over it. Asked for a take home box and left. I can also tell you the menu was extremely limited. No crab dishes, no scallop dishes? A seafood restaurant not anymore? What happened? New management, owners? And yes we've been there since IAN so can't blame the hurricane. We will only visit Lobster Lady from now on. I sound like I just want to complain but I don't. I know it's off season and don't ever expect perfection. This was worse than horrible. Beware. It's not what it once was. Sadly! Sorry no pictures mostly out of shock but the water feature that used to be so picturesque outside was green algae.

WHEN WERE READY WE WILL LET YOU KNOW ! ( OUCH #2 ) so another 10 minutes go by and I look up at the same young man who is now behind the bar serving drinks, he Nods his head and points to a newly open booth I confirm with him if my wife and I should sit there and he nodded YES , great we now have a table. Time goes by we sat there with no drinks , menu or place settings for another 7-10 minutes (OUCH #3). now i notice a staff member with a pencil behind his ear who seemed to be a ''Host'' / server / bartender walks by us 4 or 5 times and looking at us like we had had done something to offend him. now I notice him seating another two couple's WHO CAME IN AFTER US and puts table settings along with menus on the table..... I ASK Him, excuse me can we get some menu's? His unprofessional BAR STYLE Answer was --- IF you would have waited to be seated i would of given them to you!!! OUCH #4 my answer i told him the gentlemen working behind the Bar told me to sit there so he plopped two menu's down and walked away OUCH #5 . NOTE * I'm out to have a good time with my wife, so I Really Restrained myself from telling him what i really thought of him .... bottom line -- it was a waste of my time as WE walked out and will never return .... However, we found a good meal less than a mile down the road at BUSTERS for much less and an efficient friendly staff .

When we got there, I noticed that several of the items on the menu that had been gluten free no longer were (their "GF" labels were whited-out). The miso salmon was labeled as GF and we double checked. We were assured that it was. When it was served I was eating it and decided to double check since miso normally has soy sauce. The manager came by and we asked him. He said it was good, but that he would check with the chef. The head chef wasn't there, but the sous chef gave note to the manager. The manager insisted that it was okay. He never said that gluten-free soy sauce was used. I'm pretty sure it's not, because I'm sick today. Frankly I'd skip this place next time, although the ambiance and views are stunning, and the wait staff was very attentive.

I did call the restaurant later the next day to inform them so they were aware and could correct the situation. I was only able to leave a message. Hopefully they received it as I never heard back from them.

My favorite Mexican food truck is unfortunately no longer there. I always used to get the Birria burrito from there. Now, I mostly order from Gigi Gourmet and get the Triple Threat burger, which has 3/4lb Wagyu beef, cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, applewood bacon, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and a sauce. The Pattie's are crispy on the outside since they are smash burgers and so juicy on the inside. The toppings are piled high. This burger is one of my favorite burgers in the whole area. We also like to order from The Lobster Chef truck. The lobster tacos are out of this world! The portion is generous and the price is fair. They are on flour tortillas with cheese, cabbage, guacamole, pineapple salad, cilantro lime crema, and a really generous portion of lobster. They are an absolute must-order. My husband loves the tuna poke bowl. It's a massive portion with sushi rice, carrot, cabbage, cucumber, edamame, seaweed salad, avocado, crispy onion, spicy mayo, and ponzu sauce. He says the tuna tastes very fresh. Can't wait for our next trip to The Slipaway!
