Food - I went with a friend and I ordered the Mexican Plate which had a good portion of food so much that I couldn't finish it all. The only thing I would say is that it tasted okay, not a lot of flavor, but I was content with it. My friend ordered the fideo loco which was on a lunch special and they said it was good, the salsa was good and the homemade tortillas were also good. The chips were a little too greasy for my taste, but other than that I would give it 5 stars if there was more flavor for the food. Service - the service was really attentive and good, it's a seat yourself kind of place, didn't take long to get service, and you go up to the counter to pay when you're done so do not wait for a check. The staff was minimal like one or two waiters/waitresses for the floor, but they were very quick to see if we needed anything. If you're looking for a quick morning drive thru for some tacos. This is not the place. I've been in this line 30 minutes for 5 tacos. Three of them being bean and cheese. Wanted to get out of line to go somewhere else at one point but there's no way that you can get out of line because you become blocked in. If you can't produce fast food don't have the entire menu available in the drive thru. 30$ for 5 tacos and two small kids teas. Wait time was 30 minutes. I normally just go through the drive-through but today I decide to go inside. I really wish y'all hired people because they were only like two people in the store and then some people just kept like coming in the door and going behind the counter. I couldn't tell if they worked there or if they were trying to rob the place. I placed an order which was completely wrong by the time I got home. So that was a nice $35. I'm not gonna be fucking eating. I also waited there for 30 minutes for them to call my food out and finally I got up to go get a drink because I never got the one I fucking ordered so I went to the liquor store next-door and bought a Coke. Came back in and asked when my food would be ready and she handed me a bag that says curse and not Curtis. She took my order, but she also questioned if I actually order the drink that was sitting right next to the bag so I was like you know I guess not I just fucking left. I requested they not add any rice or anything and I got double rice and salad so I mean that's kind of like a fuck you to me so unfortunately I'm never coming back so thank you very much. This is a seat yourself type establishment. They are very, very, very slow!! When we went, there was really only one person taking orders, delivery the food, and she acted as the cashier too. There was a guy there, but I'm not sure what his role was. They do have good chips and salsa. The food itself wasn't great in my option. The food is good and affordable. The service is INCREDIBLY slow. I have eaten here 4 times. Each time I have been here for more than hour. They basically have 2 servers for the whole restaurant. You will sit down, they take your drink order. 25 minutes later, they will take your food order, then 25 minutes after your food will come. If you're not in a rush it's good. If you need to be in and out, this is not the place. I have never seen it crowded. I have come during lunch during the week, twice on Sunday, and another time on the way home from work during the week. read more

I wish I had better things to say to be honest. My boyfriend and I saw an Instagram Reel that highlighted Tia's Taco Hut with huge pancakes and tacos and they looked so good. We sat down and the waitress who was also the cashier up front asked for our drinks. She was nice throughout the entire interaction we were there. We asked for orange juice and chocolate milk. They stated they do not sell chocolate milk even though it was on the menu. I asked for water instead The orange juice was a Tropicana bottle and a cup with ice. For $3 and change, this was disappointing. The least they could do would be mention that it was a bottle from the store. The water was clearly tap water and sure most restaurants may or may not have tap water but it tasted unfiltered and like I was drinking straight from a lake or something. Needless to say we ate without drinking anything. My boyfriend ordered 3 tacos: migas, and barbacoa. They weren't the best but not bad at all, pretty typical breakfast tacos. I ordered the chilaquiles. In any Mexican restaurant this is not chilaquiles. This is clearly migas with pico de gallo in it. Chilaquiles are either fried tortillas or tortilla chips with a green salsa on top (or otherwise other salsa) with or without egg. Needless to say we were very disappointed and would not come back. This place is usually hit or miss. I came on a Tuesday morning and we were one out of two tables in the establishment our food took so long for a plate and bowl of menudo. The food was good though. Our waitress was very nice. Now a HUGE complaint I have is there are no changing tables in the restrooms. Is this not a family friendly restaurant? I cannot name another restaurant I've been to where I've had to take my 7 month old daughter to the car to change her. Our waitress suggested leaving a review as she said she's had multiple complaints about this and has even mentioned it to management. Please listen to your customers and staff. Try this place for the first time and it was absolutely delicious! I am so happy that my son has a really great Mexican restaurant right down the street from his apartment and he's able to eat authentic delicious Tex-Mex food. My enchiladas were super delicious shows and the tostada as well and I was excited that they had big red soda. I love the decor in the restroom. Looks very authentic and the service was perfection. I can't wait to return to visit this establishment. I definitely recommend this place oh and also try their breakfast tacos. They're amazing. read more

It's clear that you should consider hiring someone new to take orders, or at the very least, the current person needs to work on his attitude. Absolutely amazing!! I ordered the Laredo Plate and asked for green enchiladas instead of the regular and omg was that best decision I made for the day. The plates are large and filling. My husband and I have always enjoyed visiting Tia Taco Hut and have never had any issues, but our experience today was incredibly disappointing. We ordered ranchero salsa as a substitute for the regular salsa, and the waitress brought it to us in a small disposable black cup, which seemed fine. When we asked for a second serving, she brought it in a larger salsa bowl, which also felt normal to us. However, things went downhill when my husband ordered a mineral water. Instead of bringing it to our table, the waitress slid it across the bar to us while we were seated. This caught us off guard and felt very unprofessional. At checkout, I noticed a charge for two ranchero salsas and asked the waitress about it, as ranchero salsa is more water-based than the regular salsa that comes with chips, and I thought the charge seemed odd, though it was only $1.25. While I was speaking to the waitress, the woman at the register (who I assumed was the manager) loudly interrupted from across the bar, rudely explaining that we had been given the wrong size of ranchero salsa. Her tone was harsh, and she addressed us across the room in a dismissive manner. When it came time to pay, I told my husband not to leave a tip, and the manager asked if there was something wrong with our service. I told her that her attitude was uncalled for and unpleasant, and while she was still demanding a tip, she remarked, "But I wasn't your waitress." I responded that while she wasn't, her behavior had pushed us to that point. If she truly wanted to help, as the manager, she should have approached us respectfully, walked around the bar, and spoken to us directly. The entire interaction left us with a very negative impression of this location. Dining out is about enjoying the experience, and no one should have to deal with unprofessional behavior or poor attitudes. Sorry to say that time didn't help get it together. I said sour cream and guacamole three times. They repeated it back to me. Got sour cream but still no guacamole. Maybe they just need to not list that on the menu. The shell was a little overdone this time as well. I was in the drive through this time. I really can't recommend this salad that could be so great unless you eat there and can ask for what is forgotten. If guacamole is not important to you then I say try them out. read more

Went to this location for the first time usually go to the location on Bandera and Huebner I ordered a few breakfast tacos, to make this short all tacos lacked flavor beans taste liked bad canned beans will stick to location on Bandera in the future they seem to have better cooks. The food at this location NEVER disappoints. The entire staff is kind and while they do feel a little understaffed, so long as you are PATIENT the food is too good you'll forget about the wait. The portion sizes are great for the price. I come here with my family all the time and each time I feel satisfied when I leave.
