I came thru the drive thru. The lady greeted me by saying "hello" nothing else, I ordered and she said okay pull up. The lady never came to the window until my food was ready then she took my payment and gave me my food. Taco was okay. The plate order was wrong. The food was very bland. The tortillas looked like HEB mini tortillas. The salsa for the chips was good, and the restroom was actually clean. I don't find that often in Mexican restaurants. When I went to pay, I had to wait about five minutes for the lady to finish a conversation with a customer that was sitting at the table in front the register. I think we may have found our local neighborhood Mexican restaurant here at Taqueria El Rodeo on Potranco. It's not fancy and they don't have a gimmick. What they do have is consistent service and food quality. The tacos are large (if my photos don't already convey) and filled to the brim with the meat of your choice. And the meat of my choice is their pierna/pork leg. I have never heard of pierna until I came to Taqueria El Rodeo and it is what I dream about. Flavorful, fatty, tender bits of pork leg in whatever form you want. Tacos? Yes. Tostada? Yes. Gordita? Most definitely! The salsa that comes with their homemade chips is also made in-house and has a nice bit of spice to it making you crave more. Overall, the portions are huge for what you pay for, and the service is quick with no frills. Beans and rice aren't dry, haven't seen a wilted green, and no bad tomatoes here. Last thing, GET THE PIERNA! You won't regret it. read more

Realistically, there are SO many options available nearby to eat but me and friends decided to stop here and were greeted by warm welcome! The service is rapid and food is amazing. The prices are also very eye pleasing. Lastly the waitresses are so nice and inviting! Especially Arleth, she had such a big smile and made us feel welcomed unlike other restaurants. Despite there being many Mexican restaurants to choose from in this area, El Rodeo de Jalisco on Portranco Road is our favorite. The restaurant is ALWAYS clean and the staff is always friendly, greeting us upon entry and at departure. We always start with Bean & Cheese nachos - even for breakfast - and we have never been disappointed with stale chips or a wonky cheese to bean ratio. When we dine in, our servers always provide prompt service - taking drink orders and bringing us chips and salsa almost immediately. We have at some point eaten nearly everything on their menu and all of their food is extremely flavorful and authentic and the portions are perfectly sized. When we order to-go, the orders are always correct and ready in a relatively quick time. And the beans ... the beans are next level delicious. The beans here are better than my grandmas' - both of them! We love the food and I highly recommend this restaurant for a filling breakfast, a quick lunch on your own or with colleagues, for dinner with the family or for take-out at any time! read more

I used to eat at this restaurant often. It was my favorite in my area. A few weeks back I was contacted by my bank about a suspicious change to my tip amount. I've never gotten anything like this before so I looked into it and it turns out that someone did change my tip amount. I contacted the manager with the date and card number and the managers response was that she was busy and would try to look into it. I never received an apology, I never received any type of refund not even just the added amount, I never even received a call back. I went in to talk about this and the manager was off. They stated that she would look into it and give me a call. I have yet to receive a call. This action is appalling considering I was a regular customer and can't even trust this restaurant. read more
