Great little restaurant in Beaver Creek that you must try while in town! We called for reservations around 5pm during spring break time knowing they'd be full for later and they were very accommodating to get us in and out before their later reservations arrived! Cheesy garlic bread w excellent marinara dipping sauce was a great starter. We also had the lasagna, a pepperoni pizza and 2 salads both delicious! Husband said the lasagna was the best he'd ever had! The salads were extremely fresh and tasty! The rucola w mixed greens instead of arugula and the pear salad were the ones we had. I ordered the meat pizza and it was perfect, everyone wished they ordered it. Service: The service was good, no complaints. But when your a server in an Italian restaurant, you should always ask if anyone wants parmesan cheese, I did have to flag someone down to get parmesan for my pizza. My mom and I visited Ticino for an early dinner this evening. We really enjoyed the beginning of our meal - relaxing outdoor seating, great server, delicious food... until I found a fly buried in my pasta. These things happen, and I wasn't upset about the event in and of itself, but the way Sacha, the restaurant co-owner, handled the situation was unprofessional and amateur. He offered 50% off the pasta (no other part of the meal), insisted a fly would never be seen in his kitchen (which he could not prove), made us to feel if if we were trying to merely receive a free dinner, and did not apologize for the experience. To be treated disrespectfully is unacceptable and unfortunately, despite the delicious food (sans fly), we will not be returning to this restaurant because of how Sacha handled the situation. read more

The restaurant itself is kind of hidden inside a building. Inside though, it's a cute but small place. The three star review is more due to our experience with our waitress rather than the food. I ordered spaghetti with olive oil, garlic & cheese with meatballs. The pasta was cooked a perfect al dente with just the right amount of garlic. The meatballs were juicy and full of flavor. Our waitress seemed very impatient and had nothing to say when we asked about specific menu items. She barely came over to our table to check on us or to fill up our waters. At the end of the meal, a man who I presume to be the owner was going around asking how the dinner was. Besides us, there were only two other tables besides people at the bar. He stopped at both the other tables yet did not stop at ours. I thought that seemed a little rude. The pasta was fresh and well crafted and the pizza was great, which is an accomplishment at this altitude. It's obviously a bit pricey, but you have to expect that in this area. The staff was also super helpful and was able to get us in during a busy period, even without a reservation. It is a small space, so I wouldn't rely on that...definitely get a reservation if you can. read more

Tucked into an unassuming building next to a sports bar, this place is a gem. Service was very friendly and attentive. House bread basket was delicious. Would definitely order their handmade pasta, and you can customize your dish with whatever noodle type, meat add-on or sauce (pesto, rosa, bolognese etc) that you want. I ordered the tuna which ran pretty steep (around $35) and wasn't as delicious as my partner's pasta, so I will stick with noodles next time. Also, they have an enclosed tent for those preferring outdoors-ish seating. Will definitely be back to try more pasta and to try their pizza, which looked great. read more

I found this restaurant here on Yelp many months and several visits ago but recently realized I had overlooked writing a review. In an attempt to rectify my oversight, I've compiled my thoughts based on six visits (three personal, three business). The first sign you may have found a worthy place to eat is the decor. Before a server or host/ess can begin forming the words to welcome a famished patron, the aesthetics of an establishment can make or break the experience. For Ticino, it handily makes it. I've not been to Italy, but I have to imagine there is a cozy restaurant (perhaps hundreds) somewhere in the country shaped like a boot that looks very similar. It is small and cozy with a woodsy warmth. I've only patronized this establishment in the hours prior to dinner, so I would not be surprised if it filled quickly after 5pm as seating is limited. The next critical element in the timeline is service. Some businesses make you feel like a burden the moment you cross the threshold, rather than the reason they are present and open for business. During each of my visits to Ticino, the employees have quickly greeted me and shown me to a table. During the meal, the servers have been professional, friendly, attentive and accommodating. Finally, the cuisine. I feel compelled to fully disclose my choices from the menu as they are limited. I have sampled their lasagna, a special they have on occasion. I've also ordered Gnocchi with Bolognese. I enjoy a good Gnocchi dish and it is uncommon enough that I usually opt for it when available. That said, it is the Bolognese that makes the dish. The hearty, flavorful sauce is simply amazing. My wife adores the Capre e Pera salad, having enjoyed it more than once. Other table companions have complemented the Marinara and Pizza. Other portions of the meal I can vouch for are the Cappuccino and Tiramisu. If you like either, don't pass up Ticino's renditions as they are quite satisfying. Ticino, a family-owned/operated Italian restaurant is worth every bit of the 5 stars of my rating. During six visits over the course of more than a year attest to their superb quality and consistency. I pray this business thrives and doesn't change their winning formula as they will continue to be a must-stop location whenever I traverse the higher elevations of I-70. read more

This was a delicious find while we were up in the mountains. It's in Beaver Creek in a non-descript building that houses a few other businesses as well. Visited Ticino for a late dinner after a big debate about where to eat. The good reviews and the delicious smell drew us in. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent knowledge of the waiter of his wines. Wow - he knows his stuff. I'm not sure why we were so surprised except that often you get the "oh, merlot is good..." versus a great explanation! Good work! p.s. the waiter is the owner's son. We also met the owner - super nice, super friendly and you just wanted to be friends. So, as to service...definitely a 5. The atmosphere was casual, but nice...a bit dated, but pleasant...a 4. The food was pretty good...though I was a bit disappointed that the pizza was a bit "wet". The flavor was good and I liked the crust, but the middle was somewhat wet and not great texture-wise. However, it was tasty. The pork was delicious and nicely prepared. The cheese plate was nice. I think overall, there were some highs and lows in terms of food...I have to go with a 3. Bathrooms...standard and clean...a 4. Value is definitely there - it's reasonably priced for the quantity and quality is high. The wines are especially nicely priced...a 4. First of all, the staff is uber knowledgable about the food and have great food language around how to describe Italian food profiles. Bravo, Bernardo!!!! Okay, what you really want to know, how was the food!!! I die... I had the parpadelle with the creamy pesto and chicken breast. The pasta melted on the tongue with wonderful basil, parmesan notes and finished with almost a buttery taste. I lingered on every bite, and enjoyed every morsel, my only regret, is that I left sauce on the plate. Bravo - best pesto sauce and homemade pasta, I have had outside of Italy!!!!! The good: The wait staff was really good, seamlessly covering each other to refill water or wine, clear dishes, etc. The atmosphere was really nice, and the smells were great. The good: The Asiago al' Forno appetizer was quite flavorful! The good: The Piccata di Pollo was on the small side, but quite flavorful. except for the pasta component - it was plain. The good: The appetizer bread and saucer of olive oil. The meh: I had two glasses of Chianti. I can't prove it, but both tasted watered down. The disappointing: My wife ordered the Caesar salad with chicken. It was delivered, cut chicken on the side. In what must have been an attempt to make the salad look bigger, it was crammed on a medium plate. There was no way to eat it (much less mix it) without spilling salad on the table. Again and again. There was almost no Parmesan cheese (I couldn't see any in fact) and the dressing was more than sparse, it was flavorless. I mention this because my wife usually applies very little dressing to her salads while I drown mine. I couldn't see any dressing from my spot, and afterward, she said she could barely taste anything. The croutons had the blandness of taste and consistency of supermarket cheapies. Again, the staff was helpful and pleasant, but our experience left a lot to be desired for a ~$70 dinner. Perhaps the pizza is better? Recommendations: Serve salads on an appropriately sized plate, or better yet, a bowl. Caesar dressing is supposed to be delicious with a rich flavor. Provide that with the salad and, again, a bowl or dish big enough to contain the salad during mixing and eating. Spend a couple of more bucks (Chianti is cheap) on this most basic Italian wine or don't let it be watered down. Thanks read more

Amazing homemade pasta! We came early on a Friday and it was packed with other tables reserved. Very hole in the wall, old school Italian vibe. I was worried we wouldn't get a table. They got us in. Two high chairs was a challenge but we worked it out. The waitstaff was incredibly helpful and VERY attentive. Huge points for all the attention and excellent service. Very top notch on service.
