I would actually give them a 4.5/5...overall, we came here on a Saturday night and it was delicious and the waitress was really nice, typical of ski resorts ( I swear people at ski resorts are significantly happier than other places). It was really yummy, I highly recommend this dish. 5/5 All the pastas were make your own... Chicken with pesto and spaghetti: 4/5 it was really creamy and pretty good. Chicken parmigiana: 4/5 if the fettuccine pasta was better...maybe it'd get a higher rating. Meals come with bread which is always a plus! This restaurant has always been a 5 star experience. Great staff, great food. This last trip my boyfriend and I went in for an appetizer and early dinner and sat at the bar, it was empty (also 3pm). We ordered the Burrata, which is one of our favorites. I was really looking forward to this as everything we'd had so far has always been pretty good. It came out super cold, on 3 of the palest most flavorless tomatoes I had ever had. The Burrata was so cold it was tasteless and when the owners son came over to ask how everything was I said the burrata was pretty flavorless and asked if they made or bought the burrata. He says purchased, I was going to say they'd be better off making them as their food is stellar but I was rudely interrupted by him getting VERY defensive. He claimed it's their best seller and they tried it against "40 different brands." Funny because between the few Italian food distributors in CO there's maybe 6 or 7 kinds, total I said maybe it was flavorless because it was so cold, and we'll cut it and wait for bread. I smiled to be polite because his tone was harsh and made us uncomfortable. He then would not even make eye contact with us and basically tossed our bread basket at us, with the most poorly toasted bread ever. It would be an insult to call it toasted, it was still cold in the center and was barely thawed. Maybe his way at getting back to us for "insulting" him. He then had the waitress who was wonderful finish serving us, never even looked at us again and didn't say another word. It was probably my most uncomfortable dining experience, ever. The waitress got a 40% tip for being so nice and apologetic, the owners son could take a que from her. Being in the food industry requires thicker skin, maybe he was having a bad day but no reason to take it out on paying customers who gave a polite, honest opinion. This was my favorite restaurant in Beaver Creek and we would stop in and spend at least $60 not including tip almost every time we go. Because of the way we were spoken to and how defensive and quite frankly, rude he got with us I don't feel like I will be back. I should also add the pasta we had after that was really good. It's a shame it was ruined for us. Thank you to the waitress who then served us, this place is lucky to have you! 4 stars for food, zero stars for the sons poor attitude. We were staying at the Westin Riverfront Hotel in Avon and thrilled to find this place so close. I am gluten-free and don't eat a lot of cheese, but had no trouble choosing a pear salad and vegetable gf pasta with the spicy tomato sauce. My hubby chose the lasagna and absolutely loved it. We decided to walk here with our three kids from our condo. It was much further than expected, and after having a hard time finding it, we were exhausted. We walked in at about 7:20pm, and they close at 9pm. We were just a couple feet in the door, looking for the host, when the bartender yells "can I help you??" As if we were lost or something. I said, yes we had five people. He just "nope. We cant." As if we came in near closing or something. They still had more than an hour and half left. I understand if it was busy, maybe say, okay it will be a long or something. This place was bomb.com! The staff was awesome and so was the food! We started off with a caprese salad (Sliced tomato, mozzarella, fresh basil, balsamic reduction) which was delicious. For entrees we ordered the La rosa penne pasta (creamy red sauce with a kick) and the Osso Bucononna Rosa (Braised vealshank in a robustred wine rosemary sauce, pan‐fried polenta, sautéed veggies) Everything we ordered was amazing! Went back last night, food ok service pleasant, but, ordered drinks, were noticeably small and asked for some red sauce to go with the pasta that came with the most , by far, expensive entry. The little dish of sauce was ice cold. I did not want to complain, so I didn't. When the check came, I noticed an upcharge For each drink and a charge for the sauce. When I asked about the drinks, I was shown the menu where one was ordered a double for additional charge. First of all we did not ask for a double and the drinks we were served were tiny. Haven't been here for several years but hit Ticino's several times in the past. Went recently and had a wonderful and creative salad nicoise with fresh grilled tuna. Missing some veggies of a Cote d-Azure French one but more than made up with the fresh rare grilled tuna. Nice. Had the ricotta cheese raviolie with aribbiatta sauce which was plenty spicy. This place was amazing! My wife and I were in town on our honeymoon and were craving Italian. A staff member at our hotel recommended this place and he was right. All the sauces and pastas are homemade, so of course we had to try them! We ordered the Alfredo pasta with shrimp and it was amazing! We walk in on a Thursday to set a reservation for the upcoming Saturday. It was my wife, myself and our 14 month old. We made a reservation for 3 at 5:30 on Saturday. When we arrived on Saturday, the dinning room was empty. They tried to seat us at a table in the middle of the room with no high chair. Since the restaurant was empty was asked to be seated at the wall with a booth and high chair. We were told we could have the booth but no high chair, they were all reserved for others and they had no more high chairs to use. We insisted we get the high chair or we would leave and go to Pazzos or Gondola's Pizza. The old guy then copped an attitude and raised his voice and asked us what he was supposed to do, they had reservations for the high chairs. We didn't care about his "problem", we had the reservation for 3 and we had out little one in front of them when we made the reservation. After a hands in the air motion he said fine give them one. So we sat down pretty annoyed about the whole situation. Heres the kicker and why Im giving this review, the old bald guy then went and got two more high chairs from somewhere and brought them into the dinning room. About 30 minutes into our meal, the restaurant filled up with a 50/50 split of families with small kids and just couples. None of this had to happen. The female server who sat us forgot about us. After 20 minutes the same lady sends over a male server who tells us they forgot about us. He returns with three small pieces of bread and says, this was the only bread left from the kitchen and more fresh bread will be ready soon. The bread never came. A little hidden gem in Avon. It is tucked behind Bob's Place. I never knew it existed until my friend mentioned it was his 11 yr old daughter's favorite restaurant. My husband and I have the eating habits of a 10 yr old so we had to try Ticino. The pasta is freshly made which is a must for Italian restaurant. I got the chicken picatta, it was very good and it came with fresh tagliatelle and sauteed vegetables. I made a joke to our server that I don't eat vegetables. He told me I could have gotten a double order of pasta. Our server was super nice and very attentive. He had worked there since the restaurant's opening. That is a good sign that the owners treat the employees well and as a service industry veteran, I like to frequent places where I know the employees are treated well. The owner stopped by our table and was very generous with his time. We told him how polite and effective our server was and that we were very pleased with our meal and we looked forward to returning. Who said traditional Italian home made pasta can't be Michelin quality in a place like Avalon, CO? You can say I'm simply lost for words how they make the classic Italian dishes perfectly. I had the penne pasta with bolognese sauce and meatballs. The bite of a perfectly cooked homemade pasta really gives a diner's mouth the satisfaction like no other. From first glance, I thought the meatball would be dry and I would have to mix it with the bolognese sauce in order to give it a little moisture. I was wrong. The meatball was perfectly cooked with the right amount of flavor and juice. The supplement of the bolognese sauce was merely just giving the meatball an extra dimension. However, drum rolls.................................. Nothing prepared me to taste this next dish. The rosa sauce pasta with italian sausage. First off, the sausage was definitely homemade because it just felt so organic and you feel like they really put thought into doing this right. The rosa sauce was another level. The creaminess and the hint of tomato sauce with a little spice makes this such a delightful pasta dish that not every day or anywhere one could try. After the two pasta meals, I thought about giving up and pull the white flag as I am super full. I was really on the fence whether or not to get the dessert. My advice? GET IT! I decided to order the Tiramisu. I just could not believe it. If anyone has made this italian dessert in the past probably knows the ladyfinger is easily oversoaked with coffee. Not this dessert. Ladyfinger felt soft but not watery, chocolate shaving was on top instead of cocoa powder. It was classic and perfectly made. No fancy plating. Just using pure and genuine ingredients.
