    Amazing!!

During our little getaway in Newport, I came across this place on Groupon. Just communicate what intensity you prefer. Every little thing felt amazing. I left relieved and full of life. Will definitely come here again when I'm in town.

Thai massage was one of the few massages I have left to try and I was very pleasantly surprised at the massage I received at Tida Thai. My masseuse was Swan, who also goes by the more exotic name of Black Swan, and she was had perfect pressure and asked what I would like within the massage and the personalization is much appreciated. If you are questioning whether or not to be stretched.. just do it. Remember to relax and let it feel incredible. The hot stones were also a great touch and melted in my tight muscles oh so nicely. The Thai tea at the end which was absolutely delicious and was just the cherry on top of the cake. Not sure if I've ever felt more relaxed.

Having booked the service, we were allowed to utilize the amenities located in the spa. In order to get to the spa (if you're not staying in the hotel), you had to drive into the front entrance of the hotel. This is located on the side opposite of PCH. The only real option to park is through valet service which the spa takes care of as part of the cost of the service. Our massages were booked for 2pm but we arrived around 11:30am to have lunch and enjoy the amenities. The food was pretty good and the servings were plentiful. We got a chicken Cesar wrap and the charcuterie board. You're able to eat and have the food brought over just like you were ordering room service, it was definitely room service cost and they charged for delivery to the garden. After we finished eating, we lounged in the garden to catch some sun. This is the part where I say that it almost fit the bill... the weather loved tents providing shade had mold on the canvas. Maybe it was just weather warn because it does stay outside all year round? Not sure but I'm thinking that it definitely looked like mold to me. After the sun, we enjoyed the indoor amenities of steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. For me, there a few other patrons enjoying the amenities but my boyfriend said that he pretty much had the men's locker room all to himself. My favorite part about the amenities was the shower. The shower had a rainfall shower, a handheld shower and then several steam shower heads on three of the walls. The products in the shower smelled great and I would definitely use them again. For our massages, we have the couples suite. The room was absolutely gorgeous complete with 2 massage tables, 2 sinks, a gorgeous tub, 2 separate showers this beautiful stone piece on the far wall. Massages were great and relaxing. After the massages, our massage therapists led us out to the garden again to pretty much recover from the service and it was definitely needed. Upon checking it out from our service, we perused the gift shop. There were cute clothing pieces there as well as the products that were utilized as part of some of the services. When paying, they let us know that the gratuity was already covered in the cost so that was nice. Given the cost for each service, I thought it was a generous but also fair tip. Because we finished late afternoon, we decided to walk down to the pier and venture around there. We were able to keep the car there and the hotel bellman allowed us to store our gym bags in the hotel as well, all at no extra cost. If I was looking to splurge again, I would probably come back. What would sweeten the deal is if we were able to use the hotel pool too but they said that it is only allowed during the weekdays when the pool isn't too busy.

They have various spa options from facials to massages. About $300-$400 for selected services. Day spa ticket to use facilities was $100 included hot sauna and jacuzzi, locker rooms, showers etc. Their spa store had a lot of high quality selections too including clothes, scents, candles and jewelry. Next to it was the access to the workout room. Which had various machines and weight equipment.

They give you a robe & slippers to wear when you put your stuff in your locker. There's a cold plunge for your feet & then also a eucalyptus steam room. I decided to get a facial & had a great esthetician Jeri. She really helped me understand what my skin needed & fine tuned my facial to do that. After your facial, you can go to the private pool & enjoy a dip. They've got a cocktail menu but mind you the cocktails you get are not made from the bar. They're premade cocktails in a small glass bottle that they didn't make themselves. I found that part to be pretty overpriced. They even gave us $50 off for if we come back to get a service done here. I was very relaxed!

The pool didn't have many chairs - we were lucky to get two, other people that paid to use the spa facilities for the day didn't have anywhere to sit. Service was terrible. Our server spent a lot of time chatting with large parties and we couldn't even get a drink. Then she went on lunch for an hour and there was no employee in the area. It took me - no joke - 90 minutes to get my bill. And they keep your card so I couldn't leave. I almost missed my dinner reservation. I would never go back. There are so many better options - don't have your special occasion spa day ruined by picking Vea.
