What a great place. The bartender was excellent. Je provided recommendations and then even gave directions when I discovered they sold only beer/wine. I actually left and went to two other places - one regrettably wrecked by hurricane and one only accepting cash. I returned due to how helpful and welcoming they were. The bartender recommended the fish tacos of which I am not usually a fan. He quickly offered to sub chicken or shrimp. The shrimp tacos were delicious. We'd driven past this place more than once coming in and out of AMI the last couple of years and really never even noticed it...except that the parking lot was generally always full. So after checking around it seemed that the people who responded to my questions were very high on rating this place as a great place to get some great local food.... They were correct! The hostess was very accommodating to our needs and found us seating quicker than anticipated. The server was a bit slow on the soda refills though, which is a pet peeve of mine. The Fish Tacos were Blackened Mahi with a sesame-ginger sauce....ohhh baby are they tasty! Blackened Mojo Chicken for the Mrs was rated as excellent as well. Our associate had the Fried Mahi dinner and it looked as good as it was in size...a good portion! The sides were average fair but decent...no complaints just seemed abit short as compared to the meals. We'll definitely be back again in the future. Seafood amazing, grouper superb, bartender inviting... well once you are in.. I couldn't wait to go again after going with my friends 2 nights prior. Walked in, sat at the bar, no hostess in site... till I sat down!! Watch out, hostess came and gave me a 5 min lecture.. don't enter without her knowing, she has full knowledge of all things... I asked her if I needed to leave and was the bar taken... there where only 8 seats available.. she paused and said well... no but next time.... And lectured me again. . I've met bouncers in Vegas night clubs more inviting!!! Quite embarrassing and mind you this is an outside dive bar type place... sand and picnic tables ... good lord! Despite all that- go go go!! I really like this place because it's food is really good but when you order a combo plate they don't allow you to change the way it's cooked for example they offer fried, grilled or blackened and the combo has shrimp, scallops and mahi mahi but I would like my scallops grilled instead of fried but you can only have it one way. Scallops fried wasn't my favorite personally. Our waitress wasn't the best service she was slow and I saw her talking a lot instead of working but hey maybe that's the atmosphere here. The location is so amazing and that's why I'm giving this place four stars otherwise food and service would get three stars. read more

Right before you go over the bridge to island on the left hand side beside the trail park on the water was this great little place for seafood. We ordered 3 different entrées and a bowl of gumbo. Let's just say none of us 4 we disappointed with what we had received. Everything was fresh, warm, and tasty! The fish, shrimp were lightly battered with good flavor while the fries came in hot and crispy like i had asked. Now the coleslaw was good and fresh but could use a little attention but i just can't put my finger on exactly what? We sat out doors which gave a picnic feel with cool breeze good food and lots of laughter. Waiter was fantastic with answers and suggestions and was very knowledgeable about the different types of fish etc. We will definitely go back for some grouper bites :) read more

We stopped here wanting to get more seafood while on the island and was very happy we stopped here! We both got the combo baskets and swapped out the mahi for the grouper for an upcharge. I got mine fried and she got the blackened. They were both very yummy! She was raving about their beans so I gave it a try and it was very tasty! Looking for fresh seafood? This little restaurant is a joint, the outdoor seating is likely to be filled with vacationers wearing beachwear, lots of sunscreen and consuming lot of bud light in cold and chunky mugs. The salt air is heavy this time of the year and the Florida sun is relentless but it still takes a few days for those that travel here to understand the sun shines most days so give yourself a break from it when you can - me I rather eat inside where the air conditioning is working overtime and the beer tap is never more than a few feet away - it's small and quaint inside but has lots of character, a few tables and a long bar that's worn and dated, it's a beautiful example of the old Florida charm that I seek out again and again. Griffin was our server and although he provided great service and we never wanted for anything - he was busy, but he managed the bar and food coming from the kitchen like a pro. I muddled over the menu while gulping down my 1st ice cold draft. I decided to try a cup of the chicken and sausage gumbo, I'm a pretty tough critic when it comes to gumbo being from Louisiana but still I love trying the different versions even though I'm frequently disappointed, I knew immediately upon seeing it this version wasn't going to measure up to my expectations but it would satisfy my curiosity, tomato soup was the base, no roux discernible or spices, the vegetables were plentiful and the small cubes of chicken and silvers of sausage legitimized the description but added nothing more than protein, but since this wasn't the reason I came here I dismissed it as no more than a taste test. The real reason in my opinion to come here is the fresh grouper and shrimp - the fresh caught grouper is off the charts delicious (believe me all grouper is not created equal) like any fish the fresher the better it's obvious that this fish is served only hours after coming off the boat and the preparation here is spot on - I prefer it freshly breaded and fried in fresh oil, they checked all the boxes here. The shrimp were as described "jumbo" and fresh some confuse jumbo with colossal trust me colossal shrimp are for shrimp cocktail never for the fryer. This place is ultra casual and could be considered somewhat expensive if you only consider portion size and the price for the portions- if you place quality at the top of the list this place is a bargain like no other, it's rare that quality and quantity come in the same package but this may be the exception to the rule... read more

After exploring Longboat Key and Ana Maria Island, we decided to have a late lunch at Tide Tables. The reviews here are spot on - our experience was fantastic. The food was amazing, and our server/bartender, Micah, was the best! We had wonderful seats at the bar, and were able to watch the boats come and go, as well as the pelicans and other birds. We started off with an order of conch fritters, which as new Florida residents, we've been very interested in trying! They were crisp and flavorful, with lots of meat. These are a must-try if you come here! We ordered Mahi tacos with slaw and fries, as well as a cheeseburger and a Mahi sandwich with the same sides. Everything was cooked and prepared to perfection - the portions were huge, and we couldn't finish it all. We got a slice of Key Lime Pie to go because why not, and because it's soooo Florida! From the moment we turned off the road into the parking lot it was a wonderful experience. There was a person greeting and helping us park. That peaked our interest! She gave us instructions on where to go and told us to save room for the dessert. :) We were greeted and sat quickly. We opted for outside near the water. Beautiful day! The server appeared quickly and was super nice! Our beverages arrived almost immediately as well as our food. The strawberry mimosa beer was a hit with us. The food was delicious. We ordered the peel and eat shrimp, conch fritters and the scallop dinner with baked beans. Was so excited I forgot to take any photos. A few weeks ago, I lost my jacket while visiting, and not only did they find it, but they also shipped it all the way back to Georgia without asking for anything in return. We are so sad to say we will be the ones to not give this place a good review :/. We just arrived in town and were so excited to eat fresh seafood and based on the great reviews, we were sure we would eat amazing fresh fish! To our disappointed our grouper and mahi mahi were tasteless, dry and super well done. The waiter was good enough to order a new grouper that came juicier but still tasteless, although somewhat enjoyable after some salt, butter and lemon. My husband just wanted to be done and leave so didn't bother asking for a mew mahi mahi. Unfortunately We either got extremely unlucky or the cook does not know how to make fish. Service was also terrible and we had to ask other waiters when we needed anything, one of which was super rude and ignored us walking straight passed us. We give 2 stars for the view, and the shrimp that was decent. For over $100 in 3 dishes and not even drinks or dessert, we left pretty disappointed. read more

While on vacation my family dined at tide tables. There was a parking lot attendant directing you where to park. The restaurant was directly on the water, if sitting outside you can choose to sit at a picnic table or at the bar. The bar's wait was quicker so we chose to sit there. Our backs were against the water so we had no view, we probably should have just waited for a table. I had the blackened shrimp served with remoulade sauce and French fry's. The shrimp and sauce were delicious but the fry's were mid. My husband had the shrimp po boy, he enjoyed it but like me didn't enjoy the fry's, there was an odd coating on them.
