I came here for a late dinner on a Saturday around 9pm. It wasn't packed but there were a decent amount of people eating. We got a bunch of different dishes, including kimchi fried rice, tteokbokki, chicken, and cheese rolled egg omelet. My personal favorite was the kimchi fried rice. Overall everything tasted okay, but wasn't super good or that special. Tigs is open late, so I feel like it's probably more of a place to grab some late night food and drinks. I didn't opt to try any of the alcoholic drinks but they looked pretty solid. We had a huge party of 16 and a bit of a complicated order where we split into two separate orders, so props to the staff for dealing with us. They were pretty friendly and accommodating. Overwhelming beer taste but it's definitely strong. Probably served around 6-8 cups. Sweet and Spicy Chicken - we were starving and demolished this so I snagged a pic halfway through. These were some pretty fat pieces of chicken so lots of meat to work with. Juicy and tender as well. Honestly, they might be contenders for top wings on the ave though it's hard to say. Pork Kimchi Tofu - a little bit of everything, there's a blend of textures and flavors to hit every taste bud. Spicy or mild, soft or chewy, you'll feel a bit healthy ordering this. Note that Tig IS OPEN at FULL DINE-IN CAPACITY and for TAKEOUT! My friends and I came here Monday evening, the hottest day ever recorded in Seattle, for some cold drinks and late night snacks. The five of us had originally planned at meeting at Earls, but Earls was closed due to the extreme heat. While this place didn't have A/C, we all had a great experience and are glad that we found a new place to hang out on The Ave. Tig has about 10-12 tables plus a bar area which I don't think was open for seating. It's fairly dark and they have multiple TV screens that constantly play K-Pop music videos. The music isn't super loud though, so you can definitely still have a conversation with the people around you! My one comment is that the floors are fairly sticky, but I guess that goes for any bar on The Ave. We started off with one round of B-52 shots (kahlua, amaretto, and Malibu I think set on fire) ($9 each), and one soju beer tower. As far as food, we ordered one plate of the spicy pork belly and one whole Korean fried garlic and pepper chicken to share. We also ordered a pitcher of Rainier later on in the night to cool our mouths down from the chicken. Tig also offers unlimited complimentary Kirkland water bottles for guests. The B-52 shots were good and definitely a fun experience. The shots were very sweet (due to the kahlua and amaretto) and tasted like dessert in a glass. When lit on fire, they looked like tea candles! The soju beer tower was smooth and sweeter than regular beer. It has Hite soju mixed with I think rainier. We were able to get 7 servings out of the tower. Food was also very good. The spicy pork belly was spicy, but not overly spicy. It was stir fried with mushrooms and onions and came with a side of rice. If you come here though, you MUST order the Korean Garlic Pepper Fried Chicken!!!! I don't even usually like fried chicken, but this was THE BEST fried chicken I've ever had. The whole chicken was more than enough for the five of us and the sixteen pieces were HUGE (sorry Chi Mac, but wings don't cut it for me). The garlic pepper chicken was crispy and had a sweet and spicy garlic honey sauce which was to die for. Service was good considering there was only one hostess/waitress for the entire restaurant during our stay. The poor waitress never got a break and was constantly on her feet taking orders and serving guests. I think there was also limited kitchen staff as well because when we tried to order a round of Lychee shots, she said it would take a very long time and so we got the pitcher of Rainier instead. Review based on drinks alone One of my friends (name starts with an L) recommended me this place as she frequently comes here often and apparently knows the owner. They have a very large selection of drinks and shots, with some that are quite unique! I personally got the B-52 shot which lights on fire which is super cool. It's quite sweet but it gets more and more bitter and stronger alcohol-wise which would've been better the other way around. Regardless, for a shot, I really enjoyed it. They give you a straw to drink maybe because the drink can get quite hot after you blow out the fire. It was freaking packed in here when we went and busy as hell but manage to snag a table for 5 by annoying the staff. There were so many tables and so few staff. Foods okay as it is still a bar. I really enjoyed the creamy seafood udon, had a good garlic flavor. Corn cheese is a must and my friends were surprised by how small it was, they said it use to be bigger in portion but I didn't mind. Just had to order two. They also ordered two kinds of wings. I only ate the black pepper and garlic and that was pretty good. Didn't try the cream onion cus the sauce was a bit sweet for my liking. The staff helping us was nice, we also understand it was really loud and busy so couldn't really say anything negative in terms of his service. He did what he could. My friends and I are huge fans of Tig! This is a go-to spot for us when we're looking for both good food and a fun night out. Starting with the food, very enjoyable. A lot of modern Korean comfort foods like Korean fried chicken and tteokbokki. There isn't a huge amount of options but the ones they do have are pretty good. They're more meant for sharing/family style as less for individuals I think. Onto the drinks, this is their speciality! They have a TON of Korean drink options and I was loving it. Soju cocktails, somac towers, and an awesome variety of mixed drinks and shots. We ordered so many different types of drinks (honestly it was ridiculous), but we enjoyed each and every drink we ordered. No misses here! We were here long enough last night that we experienced both ambiances of Tig. During dinner time it's a pretty chill vibe enjoying good Korean food and listening to kpop while you can still hear your friends. solid 4 stars tldr; (mostly) delicious food, great alc, slow but friendly service :) I've visited tig a few times over the course of the past year - it was a favorite for me and my friends at one point. we always get the sweet potato fries, chicken, somaek tower, and yakult soju ! All are really great. The fries are perfectly sweet and crunchy, and so is the chicken. they also provide water and the appropriate shot glasses for each beverage. Some nights, the glasses are chilled which is even better. On a recently visit, my friends and I branched out to get the fried chicken gizzard and the sotteok (rice cake + sausage) The chicken gizzard was actually quite delicious, but the sotteok was really underwhelming. The rice cake was under cooked + the sausage is not the type of sausage typically used in sotteok back in Korea :/ We still really enjoyed the evening! Worse food I've had in a while. Ordered LA Galbi with side of brussel sprouts. Meat was not grilled or cooked well, it was more like microwaved leftovers. Rice was hard and crunchy. Last night my friend & I went to discuss some things over some drinks at Tigs. Along with our drinks we ordered a side of Korean Sesame Chicken. Being presented with the fried chicken, cooked with tomato sauce, gochujang (Korean chili paste), honey, soy sauce, & garnished with sesame seeds, I could tell it was cooked to perfection. The lighting of the bar also really brought out the already red color the chicken was presenting itself with. Biting into the chicken, feeling the crunch of the skin while the juices from the perfectly white meat oozes into my mouth, as well as the yogurt soju running through my blood, it felt like my veins was coursing with the power of youth. We got a few beers, soju, kimchi fried rice omelette, chicken wings, and bacon cheese fries. The chicken were average - you get 7 pieces. We got spicy sauce to dip on the side which made it taste better. Instead of the omelette that we ordered, we got kimchi fried rice with two eggs on top and realized too late that it was the wrong thing to change our order (we had taken a few bites). The sauce was extremely salty and sour, and there was too much of it. It was disgusting. I had never had kimchi fried rice like this before and I've eaten many kimchi fried rice dishes (even made my own). Anyone remember the good ol' Tig back in the Pioneer Square days? Personally, for me, I miss that location and was pretty excited to hear how this place relocated to U-District. Situated at the far end of the Ave, the new version of Tig is much more bigger and spacious. With the recent remodel, there is much more tables/chairs for the dining aspect and I definitely dig the low key lounge feel with the dim lighting and such. For my large group of friends (10+), I felt that the staff did a great job in checking in on us. Wait time for food wasn't too bad and overall, had a pretty pleasant time here. Overall, if you're looking for a place that can easily accommodate large parties and want a low key place for drinking soju, I would suggest swinging by Tig for the pregame :) read more

On weekday nights, the interior feels dark and almost lonely, it's almost always vacant and even the servers don't feel the need to welcome you. The service was so shitty. They rejected us from going in when what they did doesn't match what they wrote on the rules at all. Our friend who was traveling from another country wanted to have fun with us so we brought him to Tig. They rejected him because he didn't have a U.S government ID (he had Taiwanese ID which has his name and birthday and picture on it). Besides, their paper that was put on their front desk clearly says that only "Fridays & Saturdays IDs are required." We came there on Thursday. And when we were confused by their policy, we tried to talk this through and figure out why their behavior didn't match their written policies or if that was against any foreign visitors, they kept mumbling about the reasonings and just said the policies changed on Thursdays now without justifying much. They rejected our request on talking to a manager. The whole time we were being calm and just wanted to figure it out and didn't want to fight or anything. The girl waitress just came in and escalated the whole issue by having a shitty attitude and threatened us if we didn't leave they were calling the cops. WTF? She acted like we were the problems when their policies didn't make sense AT ALL. We used to be their regulars before this time, but after this, we'll never come back again. When I walked in on a Thursday night, NO ONE greeted me at the door nor recognized us for at least 10 minutes. There was a special board hanging near the window and that was the only thing that caught my eyes. After I got sat down, I ordered cheese ttukpokkk and soju. The server looked intimidated the whole time when I was ordering. I was okay until at this point. But when the server brought food and threw the food at the table? Okay dude. What the heck.
