Love the concept, and the food is good. But there are a few issues. Long line upon entering, and could see one employee just standing in the middle doing nothing but handing dishes that were being scooped by another worker. Completely inefficient, and on top of it he was talking about sports to a customer. Again, line out the door. Finally get up to order and got wagyu mapo, orange chicken, eggplant, chow mein and rice. All that with a drink was $23. Not too shabby considering the portions are decently sized. That was for 2 and we didn't finish and took some home. Nice that they have all containers, lids and bags easily accessible. The standouts were the orange chicken, chow mein and eggplant. The mapo was dry, not enough meat, and not saucy at all. Would not get that again. When ordering the mapo, apparently you have to ask for the meat, otherwise you'll just get tofu. And there is no additional charge for the meat, but you have to ask for it. What?! Makes no sense at all. Overall, would go back to try other dishes. They just need to get there efficiency in order. read more

This place was perfect for my big family of five! Think Panda Express, but nicer in every way. The portions were great for my two toddlers and my 8-year-old, and whenever we had leftovers, they made it super easy to pack everything to go. Their containers and bags are actually really nice--big plus for parents on the move. Our standout dishes were the soup dumplings, the braised pork and wagyu rice bowl, the curry, and the orange chicken. Tigawok is the real deal. I didn't get the hype about it until I tried it and it was really really good and really affordable as well. The entrees tasted great and each bite was the same as the last. The kung pao chicken was our favorite since it was super flavorful and spicy. Service was alright they just scoop your food and that's basically it. This brand new spot is basically Panda Express on steroids where everything is 3-7 bucks, and I mean, EVERYTHING. Tigawok is the newest addition to Irvine right next to Omomo. They do fast casual Asian fusion dishes cooked up by...wait for it, robot. Woks. I couldn't believe none of the human staff here actually do any of the cooking besides prep work and cleaning, but having the robot woks do the cooking guarantees the same consistent quality and delicious taste every single time you visit. They've got your classic Chinese dishes like orange chicken, which is WAY better than Panda's in my opinion, tomato egg (the ultimate comfort dish iykyk), and even soup dumplings. I didn't have huge expectations at first because of the affordable prices but I was blown away by the quality of the food. I got the wagyu mapo tofu and kung pao chicken and they were both so delicious and the authenticity is on par with some of my favorite chinese restaurants. The mala taste is actually quite strong (which i like) but if you're not a fan of spicy food, watch out for that lol! finally got around to trying tigawok and it did not disappoint! went on a thursday around 5, the line builds up but it goes by quickly. you grab a tray and go down the line choosing what you'd like, they also let you sample things first! staff was super friendly and helpful when i went. a few tables inside and outside but they go fast so be prepared. they also have everything out for you to take once you're done, (bags, lids, cutlery, etc) the food was all super yummy. i'd definitely go back to try more things! chow mein (3/5) - pretty standard chow mein. very veggie forward though, i wish they were cooked a bit longer orange peel chicken (4/5) - really good flavor, still had a bit of a crunch curry (4/5) - surprisingly good! the consistency was a little off but the flavor really made up for it. braised pork and wagyu beef rice bowl (4/5) - this was pretty good, it is fatty like other reviews mention but very good flavor otherwise. pork buns (4/5) - so cute! i liked the flavor of these, very soft and moist overall i'd definitely stop by if you're in the area looking for something fairly quick and affordable. read more

went in with low expectations but it was honestly not that bad. the mapo tofu was actually kind of mala, and the brussels sprouts were great, though they were on the saltier side. the broccoli (we got the garlic sauce on the side) was pretty bad, and the sauce was too sweet. the honey black tea was also not really to my liking. but i tend to be kind of picky with black tea, so maybe its okay. i didnt hate it at least. i do wish it was a little sweeter, thats all. the atmosphere was alright, but it felt too cramped, and i feel like i went at a good time in between peak lunch and dinner hours. i had to wait a solid 2 minutes to put my trays away, because there were too many people crowded by the fountain drink machine and the sauce counter -- which are right next to each other, the place to put back the trays was underneath the counter, and you have to squeeze past all of the people doing whatever around there just to get to the bathroom. probably wont be back unless im somehow in the mood for a small portion. read more

The concept reminds me of some restaurants in China where you can order just a bunch of precooked small side dishes - despite being precooked, the food was very fresh tasting! they were all delicious and tasted authentic. I highly recommend the tomato egg, they mix it perfectly and the scrambled egg is nice and gooey and the sweet tomato taste was so delicious. Hunan beef was a blast of flavor and on the spicy side. Portion/quality consistency need to improve. I went on two days in a row, with different time visit. First time being 1:30pm. Greeted by a female staff. Very patient and very friendly. The portion was generous. Food is fresh and temperature is well maintained. I had a really good first time experience. This prompt me to revisit the next day. Around 3:15. The guy (white/tall/buff) just toss the small food containers on the high counter after scoop, showing some attitude. He then check me out using the back of hand/knuckle without taking off the glove. It is a food safety violation. Food portion is also significantly fewer than the previous day. The garlic eggplant dish is also looking old and stale. This restaurant has potential and just need a fix on the staff training and quality control. I give it a 3 star and will change to 4/5 if I see improvements on my next visit. read more

I've been here a couple of times now and the food has always been amazing. Their chili paste is delicious and adds a nice kick to your meal. I pack myself 2 or 3 containers every time I go. Irvine use to have some nice options when it came to fast take out Chinese Food like Sam Woos and Capitol Seafood. This is my second time trying Tigawok ( first is in LA). The line can be long but moved fairly quickly if people already knew what they want. Customer service is good. They are definitely nonstop working. They are friendly and try their best to serve food for you. Price is fairly good from 3.99 to 5.99 most of items. Food is decent. I would say it's too oily for me. Yet that's also the trick. I would recommend to pair the dish with some tea~ I ordered the rice with braised pork and beef; dry fried Brussel sprouts; string beans with eggplant; shredded potato with sprouts; and orange chicken. Orange chicken seems very popular; I heard it was the last batch by 7pm already. The flavor is pretty decent not too sweet like other fast food. Rice with braised pork and beef ($5.99) brings the childhood memory back. My favorite food. I added with their spicy chilly n beef. It's perfect combo!!! I would def just go back for that only! One thing that isn't my cup of tea is the over use of the plastic. Everything is in plastic. It's pretty wasteful. I wish they could come out something to replace plastic tho. read more

I was very excited to hear about this opening-- my favorite Chinese comfort foods to-go! But I was not pleased with my experience... I came on a Monday night at 7pm and it was packed! I waited about 20 minutes in line and when I got to the front, they were out of almost everything, so I had to wait even longer... I ended up waiting 40 minutes for what was supposed to be fast food... The food is marketed as "just $3-7 per bowl" but size of the bowls are pretty small and the price adds up. Also because it was so busy, the workers were not filling up the bowls... Not "a steal" as marketed. The restaurant was very clean and the packaging was nice, which I appreciated. The staff were also very friendly and apologetic about the long wait. The food itself was mediocre. I ordered the eggplant and kung pao chicken. Eggplant was very salty and kung pao chicken was greasier than I liked. IMO, just a fancier Panda Express, probably wouldn't come back (or at least wait until the hype dies down) read more

Saw Tigawok months ago and was excited to go try it as soon as they opened. Tigawok has similar concept to Panda Express in the layout of fast yet easy, where you pick your entrees and pay at the end. The biggest difference, it taste way much better and I really like the individual small portion size so you can try a lot more different dishes they have. The other aspect is there use of reusable containers with provided lids. The containers feel solid so these can be reused if you decide to clean and keep them after use, so they kinda push a bit more for environmentally friendly and sustainability. Theres plenty of tables inside so finding a seat was not too difficult. This restaurant is located in large plaza so parking isn't too difficult to find either. Overall food was good. When I got there, I was blown away?! There's an incredible amount of stuff to talk about. Let's start with the ambiance. It was a nice clean build, with great vibes and colorful decor! Seafoam everywhere! I love that theming! The service was killer too! Staff was helpful, and they even checked up on me while I was eating, too! It felt like it was the perfect setting for a fast and casual meal! Not to mention the togo-ability! There's lids and bags and all that for you to take leftovers or the entire thing togo. The food? Get outta town, it's very affordable, and the food is comparatively delicious too! We got rice, chow mein, and almost all of their entrees! There was mabo tofu, orange chicken, and a bunch of others! The standouts were, in my opinion, the cold shredded chicken, and the kung pao chicken. These two were outstanding, and if you pair the cold shredded chicken with the spicy chili sauce they have?
