Tigawok - Chinese Near Me - Irvine, California

Was a fairly quick process to choose what items I wanted. I liked that you can order individual entrees a la carte (including the base) and the mini bowl prices vary over the items. You can get a variety to share instead of just the two or three selected for your "combo" like at other fast Chinese food place. I was also happy to see a good selection of food, and I liked the flavor of them. Fair warning they may not taste like other fast Chinese food places, but tastes more like what I would expect from a sit down Chinese restaurant. Looking forward to next trip back! read more

Love the concept of tigawok!! Everything is less than $6 each and is a big portion for one person. It was our first time here and we were able to sample some of the dishes before we decided. The pork and peppers were my personal favorite, savory and packed with flavor. The chow mein at only $3 is such a steal, a great base. Curry and mapo tofu with meat were pretty standard and could definitely fill more than one person. The cabbage was all of our favorite veggie dish, it was garlicky and perfectly cooked. HIGHLY recommend getting a lot of their wagyu chili paste, it adds a great kick and a lot of flavor. Their strawberry mints are also the perfect way to end the meal!! Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the food. read more

This place is like an elevated Panda Express! Super yummy and still affordable. They have a sauce bar on the side for all your spice and marinated radish needs If you don't know where to start, my personal recs are the braised Pork Belly and the Tiga Wagyu Curry. I wouldn't say any of these dishes blew me out of the water, but for a fast casual Chinese food place, it goes way above expectations. If you're looking for something quick, affordable, and good w/o feeling too heavy, this is your place! read more

Just tried the new Tigawok in Irvine and honestly, I'm impressed. The robot woks are kinda mesmerizing to watch -- and they make sure every bowl comes out fresh and consistent. The mini bowls are the perfect size if you want to try a few different things, and the prices are super affordable (most between $3-7). I liked that they had a nice balance of carbs, veggies, and proteins, so you don't feel stuck ordering the same thing over and over. The space itself is clean, modern, and welcoming, and it's nice knowing they already have locations in Sawtelle and Burbank too. Definitely a cool new option for Orange County -- can't wait to come back and mix and match more bowls. read more

Wasn't sure what to expect but I like the concept. It's similar to Panda Express but smaller portions. Great for sharing family style. And definitely reasonably priced. Staff is friendly and will give you suggestions. My fave was the Dry Pot Brussels sprouts! Great flavor and perfect texture. I'm generally a carnivore but it was so good. Recommendations Tiga Cola Chicken - kid friendly option Kung Pao Chicken - spice level was just right, nice little kick Orange peel chicken - nice crispy texture, not too sweet Garlic eggplant and green beans - another great vegetable option My least fave was the pork buns. I like their tea options and cute packaging. Great for takeaway. read more

The food here is very authentic Chinese food. The flavors are rich, comforting, and close to what you would expect from traditional Chinese home-style cooking. The dishes taste fresh, well-seasoned, and not overly Americanized, which I really appreciate. The portions are generous, and the menu has a good variety of options for different tastes. It is a great place to come with friends or family if you want a satisfying and genuine Chinese meal. I would definitely come back again. read more

Tigawok - Very authentic Chinese meal! - Chinese Near Me - Irvine, California

This place is phenomenal. SUPER affordable but has an authentic flavor. Got a number of different things: egg and tomato, beef curry, hunan spicy beef, string beans and eggplant, and the orange chicken. My favorites were the orange chicken, spicy beef and the string beans with eggplant. The owners are also very nice and the inside has an all around good vibe. Highly recommended. read more

Tigawok - Hunan spicy beef, egg with tomato, orange chicken, string beans with eggplant - Chinese Near Me - Irvine, California

I loved the concept, like Panda Express style walk down the line, grab a tray start with your base rice, noodles, then entrees they had several chix, beef, and pork proteins and ofc veggies. I opted for the sausage fried rice, mapo tofu with beef and green beans and eggplant. The tofu was interesting not too spicy but the ground beef was a bit too crunchy?? The green beans and eggplant were good, i was looking for more eggplant to green beans in the ratio ...the fried rice was good and I loved that all the trays were constantly getting refreshed. The employees were friendly and helpful and the line moved along relatively quickly as we got in and moved through in a decent amount of time. I really liked the color palette they chose a soft teal and an eco friendly light beige for the containers. Also for those that ordered more than you could eat to go lids and nice insulated bags to take your food home in. I recommend this place to try it doesn't hurt. I think that some of the menu items online aren't always available as my friend wanted to try the chili pork but wasn't available when we went and the employee we asked didn't know for sure when it would be. read more

We first saw this on TikTok and hubs had been wanting to try it. He was fascinated with the idea of robots cooking. When we arrived there was a small line and most of the tables were occupied. The restaurant is more of a small eatery, with pristine white walls, hard (but comfortable) booths that line them, and a perfect view of the ordering counter. Unfortunately, the robotic machinery that the place is known for isn't very visible, but you can see bits and pieces of it if you stand at the end of the ordering counter and look in the back. Meanwhile, the ceiling is adorned with wooden rafters and wavy white lights weave through them to illuminate the place. There were only a few tables inside the place but dining is mostly outdoors. We managed to grab the remaining empty table and we were happy with that but I think someone got upset with us. LOL. Oh well! We ordered the following: Chow Mein- this reminds us of Chinese American lo mein. This was a great substitute for white rice. Dry Pot Brussels Sprouts- never had it at a Chinese restaurant before. Hubs loved this. Tomato and scrambled eggs - it was tasty and good. Wagyu mapo tofu- this was one of the best tasting mapo tofu that we ever had. Red braised pork belly with potato- never had this before. Hubs has a closet sweet tooth and loved this dish. We hope to find this at a restaurant in the East Coast. Steamed Rice - this was nice and soft. Daughter loves that our dinner was all served in a takeout container and that you just need a lid to bring the rest of home. They have reusable bags for takeout and little boxes for takeout with their logo on it, which was cute. This was a huge surprise. We wish that we have this place in our neighborhood in the East Coast. Hubs wish that Panda Express was like this, but sadly it's not. Service was very friendly. They were encouraging us to sample other items. Glad we got to try this place out! read more

I really like this place the portion sizes are perfect and it's really tasty. I love the radishes with the food and the spicy relish it adds extra flavor. Definitely coming back (: read more

I've been here a 3-4 times now, both for dine-in and take-out. Definitely appreciate that Tigawok offers more authentic Chinese than the other quick service competitors. When something is supposed to be spicy (like mapo tofu), it actually IS spicy and in the right way. I haven't had any dishes that I disliked yet, although I think the kurobuta pork could use fewer peppers, and the rice sometimes can be a little bit soggy. The condiments are really good and add much needed spice/acidity to the entrees and I would sorely miss them if they ever ran out. The reusable containers and takeout bag are nice and I've definitely seen the bags being used at 99 Ranch, lol. Unfortunately the coupons from grand opening expired way too quickly and I couldn't redeem them in time - but I'll make my way out to Tigawok again when I'm craving Chinese 'fast food' takeout. read more

We chose this place because we were craving Chinese takeout, and it seemed like the best option nearby. For our order, we got four items: chow mein, white rice, kung pao chicken, and green beans. Overall, the food tasted good, but there were a few issues. The chow mein had great flavor, but the portion was incredibly small. We went close to closing time (around 8:30), so maybe they weren't planning to make more, which I can understand but it was still disappointing considering we paid full price and barely got any noodles. The kung pao chicken, unfortunately, was very dry and not juicy at all, which was a letdown. On the bright side, the green beans were really delicious and probably the highlight. I'd be willing to come back and give this place another try, but definitely earlier in the evening. One thing I'm curious about is why they close so early... especially since it looked pretty busy around 8:30. It seems like they could easily get more business after 9, but maybe there are restrictions. read more

This place can get pretty busy and have a line out the door, but it usually moves pretty fast. There is a small amount of tables inside and not much walking space between the tables and the food line. We got: chow mein - surprisingly delicious and super cheap 5/5 braised pork and rice - it was good, but seemed like chow mein was the superior base dish at half the price 4/5 sweet tomato and egg - the eggs are made perfectly fluffy to compliment the tomato texture 4/5 orange peel chicken - their most popular dish and for a good reason, solid flavor and nice crunch 5/5 beef curry - this one was good, when the beef is cooked perfectly than this has insane potential 4/5 zesty chicken - this one was similar to a Hainanese style chicken, but a bit heavy on the cilantro 4/5 Overall it was a lot of food, you could probably get 2-3 items and be completely full. At $5-6 per main dish, it's a great cheap eats option. read more

Tigawok - Chow mein, braised pork and rice, sweet tomato and egg, orange peel chicken, beef curry, zesty chicken - Chinese Near Me - Irvine, California

I was pleasantly surprised by how good Tigawok turned out to be! This spot is a hidden gem for quick, fresh, and homestyle Chinese meals -- perfect for lunch or dinner when you want something satisfying but not too heavy. We ordered a few combo sets that came with rice and sides, and everything was neatly packed and served hot. The broccoli with garlic was crisp and flavorful without being greasy, and the stir-fried green peppers with sliced pork had that perfect smoky "wok hei" aroma you usually only get in authentic Chinese cooking. The Japanese-style curry beef stew was rich and comforting, while the eggplant with garlic sauce had a nice balance of sweet and savory. You can tell they use quality ingredients -- the vegetables are bright and fresh, the meats tender, and portions generous for the price. The variety is also great: you can mix and match dishes like noodles, rice, and stir-fried veggies to build your own meal. The restaurant itself is clean and modern with a fast-casual vibe. Service was friendly, and everything came out quickly. Perfect for families or anyone craving a home-cooked Chinese meal in a casual setting. Favorites: Garlic Broccoli, Curry Beef, and Stir-Fried Eggplant Pro tip: The combo meals are great value -- two mains + rice or noodles make a balanced meal for under $15. Highly recommend giving Tigawok a try if you're in Irvine! read more

Went here after my wife saw it on TikTok and wanted to try it mainly because of all the gluten free options they offer. I did a pickup order for dinner and when I got there there was a huge line out the door which immediately made me think ok this place must be good. And it was. I was honestly really impressed by the quality. Everything tasted fresh and cooked right then and there not frozen or reheated like you sometimes get at other fast casual spots. We ordered the gluten free orange chicken for my wife and she absolutely loved it did not even let me have a bite and ate the entire thing herself. Great zest great punch exactly what she was hoping for. For myself I ordered the shiitake pepper chicken and kung pao chicken both of which had a serious kick but amazing flavor. The guy helping me I believe his name was Kevin was super patient and kind and let me try a bunch of the dishes before ordering which was huge. Shoutout to him because he nailed the recommendations. Both dishes were spicy but so flavorful and still hot even when I got home which I love. The ratio of chicken to peppers and onions was perfect. Chow mein was also solid I just wish there were a bit more noodles compared to the veggies but it helped balance out the heat. Overall this place is a win and feels like a healthier quicker Chipotle style spot but for Chinese food. Definitely recommend and we have already been back since. read more

The food is cooked by robots --but honestly, the flavors are just as good as a human chef's (some are even better!). Prices are amazing, ranging from only $1.99-$6.99, which makes it easy to try a variety of dishes. We ordered several and shared: * Garlic eggplant & green beans (so flavorful, with a perfect mix of crunch and tenderness) * Tiga wagyu beef curry (rich and comforting) * Dry-pot Brussels sprouts (perfectly spiced with a little kick) * Pepper kurobuta pork (little spicy and savory) * Orange peel chicken (not overly sweet like Panda Express--balanced and delicious) For my base, I had the chow mein, and I actually like it more than Panda Express--the noodles weren't greasy and came with lots of fresh, crunchy veggies. My parents couldn't stop raving about the soup dumplings (xiao long bao). We also loved the unique, well-designed food containers, and the oolong tea was the perfect pairing. Overall, Tigawok is a gem--delicious, affordable, and such a cool concept. Definitely worth checking out! read more

new place at lake forest, nice clean store with delicious food and grand opening event.

Been to this location twice and gottah say it's made the 5-star list in my book. The portions are great, food is delicious, prices are reasonable. I especially like the pork belly and the rice entree, but the string beans and eggplant dish is also pretty flavorful. The spicy selections are extra spicy so tread lightly. The interior of this establishment is clean and spacious. Bonus point goes to their to-go containers. It's reusable and microwave safe, truly a genius concept. I will likely be a returning customer. read more

Tigawok - Pork and potatoes - Chinese Near Me - Irvine, California

Had the chance to revisit and felt really impressed with the entire experience. I saw fresh food getting served out from the back and also sampled several items while browsing. I really appreciate the sizes of the entrées and sides, as it really allows for greater selection and not committing to just one large family style serving of a dish. Even something as simple as the Brussels sprouts is done perfectly, as the veggies are cooked through and well seasoned. The orange chicken has a nice crunchy exterior and tangy glaze, and it's neat that they also allow you to grab pickled radish and chili sauce on the side. The service was great, the food was tasty, and I would easily return here to grab take out. I have yet to to do a dine in experience since it can get packed up pretty quick within the store, but the decor inside the restaurant is very modern, with rope-like lights and tasteful accents all around. Really glad this place is in town! read more

Was craving Tigawok again and it didn't disappoint!!! This place is a hidden gem for fast-casual Chinese in Irvine! It's only a few minutes from UCI campus, and the prices are so affordable. We wanted to try their new sweet and sour pork and it was really good. Crispy, fresh, not too oily, and the perfect balance of sweet and sour. Portions are generous, making it perfect for sharing with friends or family. What's really cool is that all the food is cooked by robotic woks, so everything is fresh, consistent, and ready fast. I was very excited that they open a location in Orange County. I had had been to the Sawtelle location some months back and really enjoyed the food. The Orange County location was very clean and well set up and ran far better than the other location. The service was decent. The problem at the Orange County location is the food. It's not terrible or anything. It's good but I feel like they don't clean up the meat as well as they did at the other location. Most of the meat here had a lot of fat. I'm sure some people don't mind, but that's a thing for me. I'm honestly not sure if I'd be back. I should probably give it another chance at some point, but right now I feel that they have a little work to do to get the quality of food up to that of their other location. read more
