I go to Tiger Noodles for one thing -- a bowl of piping hot, delicious beef noodle soup while sitting on the outdoor patio. This review is primarily because of the noodle soup, lol. When the weather is nice, the atmosphere of the patio is unbeatable because it's a bit isolated and shaded by some trees. The service is pretty fast. People complain about staff being brusque and rude, but I think it's just a cultural thing -- I'm not offended. The noodle soup is decently priced. Can't speak to many of the other dishes because I'm very picky about my Chinese food. I had the eggplant lunch special once, because I love the Chinese way of cooking eggplant, and it was a bit of a disappointment -- not flavorful or tender enough. There is always a decent crowd here. Coming form the Chinese food heaven of Los Angeles, I found this restaurant serves the best noodles, even better than those authentic Chinese food places in Los Angeles. Best. Chinese. Ever. I can't believe there are bad reviews on here. I have been going to Tiger Noodles since I was 4 or 5 years old, and it has just gotten better. The people who work there are great, the food is amazing (and I live in NY now - try and find better steamed veggie dumplings, I double dog dare you), and now that they have expanded, there are more seating options. Eating outside in the summer? Nothing better. Cold sesame noodles and chicken moo-shoo are YUM! Wonton soup? Perfect. If you could marry chinese food, I would do it here. Seriously, Yelpers. Went to Tiger Noodles for the first time. I am Asian and growing up in New York have had tremendous authentic Chinese cuisine in NY. I now live in Lawrence and hard to find a really good Chinese restaurant in this area. When looking at any place, I check out their menu first for certain items, not your typical Chinese place catering to Americans, those dishes do not interest me. Right away I saw two items that are my favorites Chow Fun (it's Chow Fen on the menu and does not mention any meat, chow fun is a wider noodle) and Pan Fried Noodles. I sometimes see Chow Fun on some menus but never Pan Fried Noodles so was very excited to try it an see if it's the one I like cause the only places I can get it is when I go back to NY. I went with friend who loves noodles but just lo mein (not very experienced in chinese cuisine). So I ordered pork lo mein for her, chow fen (with beef), and beef pan fried noodles (they also have chicken and seafood). I have to say all three noodle dishes were excellent, especially the two I ordered, delicious beef and sauce I'm use to, delicious noodles. The Pan Fried Noodles had a ton of beef too. I was very happy. This will be my go to place for noodles from now on. The prices may be on the little higher side but that is Princeton address. What is good is they at least offer a smaller size for half the price for some items. I can't speak of service since we were there at 12:00 on Saturday and not very busy. We were only ones outside. Service to me was very good, food came out fast, but if the place was packed then that might be another story. Overall good experience. I highly recommend trying the Chow Fen with beef and Pan Fried Noodles with Beef. Most people may not be familiar with these and you won't regret it (make sure you mix the sauce with the pan fried noodles). read more

Ooohhh Tiger Noodles, I was so scared to try you, and so happy the wait at Blue Point was so long so I did. Classy, upscale Chinese food in every sense. Trendy outside patio seating. BYO, with a liquor store right next door for easy access. Quick service. Reasonable prices for portions and quality. You won't have to wait where you could wait a week for a table at some of the neighboring restaurants. The ambiance and service is definitely on the more casual end for the Princeton crowd. While visiting the Princeton campus, we happened to find this restaurant a block away from the engineering building. It was such a delight to dine here. I love the Sichuan wanton with spicy sauce, it was as good as Ding Tai Fong. Their dumplings and beef noodles were excellent too. I'd rather eat Cup-O-Noodles than spend $8 here. Granted, Princeton's East Asian food scene is notoriously Americanized [1], but Tiger Noodles makes P.F. Chang's seem like a Chinatown joint. My visits here have always been disappointing and bordering on humorously bad. The soup noodles consist of resuscitated dried white flour noodles floating in an uninspired, sepia-toned MSG broth that is garnished with few bits of meat and veggies. The tofu and eggplant dish features a syrupy orange sauce smothering chunks of tofu and sliced eggplant and served with rice. This is par for the course here and gives you an idea of what the other entrees are like. Unless you're in the mood for a caricature of Chinese food, steer clear of Tiger Noodles and head to one of the places listed below to satisfy your cravings for East Asian cuisine. WTF, Tiger Noodles? Picked up my take-away tonight, got it home, and immediately noticed you started using new plastic take-away containers, after 10 years of using the old tinfoil containers. That's great, but these new containers are HALF THE SIZE of the old containers, and contain HALF AS MUCH FOOD. FOR THE SAME PRICE AS BEFORE?! So you've essentially doubled your prices. You were rather expensive to begin with. No way am I going to pay that kind of money for half the food as I used to get for many many years. I was not impressed by this place. Call me spoiled but these guys can't hold a candle to the food I can get in San Jose. The tastes here just didn't do it for me. I got the beef fried rice and I felt like I needed to add 2 spoons of Sriracha just to get any flavor out of it. Really dull food which was a downer... I love this restaurant. I have been going here since I was a little kid. My mom and I always get two of the same five dishes every time we come here. I highly recommend the vegetable spring rolls and the homestyle noodles with spicy ground pork sauce! Those are my favorite. My mother swears by the soft shell crab with ginger scallion sauce. Just because students goes to Princeton doesn't always mean they can always afford fine dining. There is a reason this place has been around for so long. During summer and fall, their patio opens up with additional seatings. It is just absolutely beautiful to enjoy a nice meal that does not cost you an arm or leg. Was given a friendly greeting when I came so that was a nice start. However things went down from there. Although the dipping sauce was good, the boiled seafood dumplings were very bland and had to be soaked in the sauce for some flavor. I ordered the Little Bit of Everything soup and was very disappointed. The "broth" was more like congealed gravy. Huh? The bits of pork I could find were ok enough but the carrots and what I think was cabbage buried in the gravy were very overcooked. Yuck. Oh and I hate to think there's bias but um...non-Asian folks do like hot tea. I wasn't offered any, just given ice water but when an Asian family came in 15 minutes after me, they were given tea immediately and were also served much more quickly. I thought maybe they just didn't like me but about 10 minutes after them, a white family came in and yep, were given ice water and slow service. Bad show, guys. And don't think paying me an empty compliment while delivering my check is going to inspire a higher tip. You got an average one. Improve your food and your service and you'll do better. This places uses a ton of MSG, which is why I prefer Ivy Garden over it. If you're okay with MSG however, you'll probably like Tiger Noodles more as their dishes bring out a lot of favor. But pretty much all of their dishes taste the same due to so much MSG. Good dishes: Beef with Garlic and Tomatoes - the tomato pieces are larger than optimal, but it's not a big deal. Chicken with Eggplant - standard, good tasting chicken with eggplant. General Tso/Sesame chicken - Comes with 3 pieces of brocolli. Try to pair it up with other dishes that include veggies. Chicken Vegetable Noodles - I got this when I was sick and wanted to eat some chicken for proteins. It was really good. It also comes with chinese cabbage (napa/chang bai cai), carrots, snow peas, mushroom, and broccoli. Beef Stew Noodle Soup - nowhere near as spicy as Ivy Garden's. Stay away from Pork in Garlic Sauce and the specials. The specials aren't special at all. They're just plain dishes. read more

We used to like Tiger Noodle. Food is just "ok"-- but strangely Princeton is awash in sushi and Indian places and very few Chinese options-- and delivery from TN was always solid. But no more. They switched to an online system and now delivery always ends up taking well over an hour. Sometimes more than 90 mins. You can try and call, but you often can't get thru. Tiger Noodle is decent for take-out. Their food is reasonably priced and always ready when promised. I like their hot and sour soup. Their dine-in options are, however, kind of atrocious. My husband had "noodle soup" which was essentially hot water with vegetables and noodles floating in it. It would have been nice if they at least bothered to cut something. I had the home style noodle, which came with a sliver of rubber band. Oh, and a "vegetable" dish are priced the same as the meat dishes but you actually get less food because they just pick the meat out. There is nothing extra. Average Chinese restaurant that is slightly overpriced, probably because of its Princeton location. Chicken chow fun (stir-fried flat noodles) and Dan Dan noodles (with spicy chili sauce) are always my #1 choice here. A huge plus is that there are outdoor seating available, which I think is very uncommon for a Chinese restaurant.
