I really enjoyed the tea I chose which was a mango sago inspired drink but unfortunately they didn't have any sago to add at the moment so I opted out into adding regular boba. Even without the sago the drink tasted amazing and just like I remember the dessert to taste -- it was really refreshing and good quality. The staff was kind and worked efficiently -- barely any wait time to get your drink ticket called after ordering. My other friends tried other items as well and I liked every item they ordered (mango oolong tea, one of the coffee teas, and another drink that had fruit in the bottom) shop is pretty small but great for ordering and being on the go -- would def try again if I'm in the area.

I got their Milk Tea with boba and although I actually don't enjoy boba too much I was surprised that the boba was tender and chewy. It seems like they just prepared a new batch. I enjoyed the drink and will visit again when I'm in the area.
I ordered the black sugar boba with mochi per the recommendation of the cashier and it was delicious! The staff were friendly and had my drink ready in less than a minute! Decently sized medium drink for under $6- the price was very reasonable! The store was clean with cute decorations (see pics) and had nice music. I would come back here again!
Cute little spot to get a tea and a snack. The employees are friendly and explain the drinks well. Unfortunately the drinks are too sweet for me and I can't have anything here, though I did try the mango tea and it was good, I wouldn't be able to drink it on the reg. If you're okay with sugar, this place is for you. Best to get here on foot, bike or scooter, or via public transport or ride share.
Convenient location in the Japanese Village in Little Tokyo. Drinks that we ordered were pretty good (see photo). This location doesn't have much seating but most people just want to buy their drinks to go anyway. They do have oat milk option for those who are lactose intolerant. Great service with a smile on a busy Sunday afternoon! Recommend giving them a try if you're in a mood for boba drinks!
Stopped by on a Monday afternoon and was satisfied enough with my drink. We were pulled in by the sign showing all the yummy looking drinks. Service was quick, clean interior. Menu is very much more tea based versus dessert based, more along the same lines as Wushiland. I ordered the Peach Green Tea and it was very strong in regard to bitterness and the jitteriness that I got from the caffeine. I even ordered it 100% sweet! There was a very slight after taste of peach but not much. They were out of the Crystal boba that I wanted but there were little jellies at the bottom that added a good contrast in texture and helped a little with the bitterness. 3/5 Overall, this place seemed cooler than it actually was. My drink was too strong for my liking, literally not my cup of tea lol. I'd probably try some place else next time I'm in the area.
Honestly my matcha was terrible. The milk itself taste odd (I get oatmilk all the time and it just didn't taste good). It seemed like it was all milk and barely any matcha. It was also pale green even before I shook it up. I wouldn't recomend the matcha here but the teas looked good, my friends enjoyed theirs. Service was quick, fast, friendly and helpful at choosing. Inside is small and not many seating areas. It's in little Tokyo which is cute and nice to walk around so those are the pros

Conveniently, if you ever paid a visit here, this is a great option for a refreshing drinks. Tiger Sugar is already famous for their Brown sugar series. Ambience: mostly to-goc they dont have a lot of seatings. (-) The cup size is small compared to their price.
Boba- 3/10 first of all they barely gave me any boba in my drink! Secondly, half the bobas were hard asf in the middle the other were soft. No consistency smh Drink- 10/10 Black Sugar Boba Milk Tea - perfect sweetness and the drink is super aesthetic! Service- 5/10 I asked some questions and the girl who helped me seemed very disinterested. Cost- 7/10 $6.85 in total for the large size option with boba topping. It's not the worst price point especially it being in Japan Town.

I got the mango green tea at 50% sweetness and it was delicious !! We got our drinks really quickly . They also have a cute Photo Booth and a place you can draw a cute little doodle . It's a cute little boba spot ! read more
Stopped by specifically to get boba as I was in Ktown for dinner. Got two tiger sugar bobas. Upon arriving, found out that they do not validate parking. The boba was ok but not having parking validation is wild. So be aware that they don't validate. I found out the hard way. Sigh. read more

Food: 2/5 Service: unknown Ambiance: 3/5 Ordered Black sugar coffee jelly milk with 50% sweetness thru door dash, I had to pay extra for special instructions about 50% less sugar which I got charged afterwards, if I know when I check out, I would not purchase it. The place in a bit small side but I understand that it's located at little Tokyo. I was just there for pick up so customer service was unknown. When I got into my car and have a sip, I was very disappointed. It was very sweet. I even think they put extra sugar in it. When I get home I kept adding water and got about 3 more extra cups. I don't know if the employees did not follow instructions or it was their 50% sweetness. Either way both scenarios are bad. I would not repeat. read more

This is a very popular boba shop from Taiwan. Their brown sugar milk drink is solid, but the milk tea was a bit underwhelming and didn't quite live up to expectations. read more

I ordered a Matcha Oat Milk Espresso Latte, but was given someone else's drink. It was impossible to visually verify my order because the cups are not transparent and not labeled. Nice bright cup design. read more
Needed a quick pick me up and decided on Tiger Sugar at Japantown! I got the normal Black Sugar Boba Milk w/ Cream and it was really good! It was more on the milkier side and definitely could use more sweetener but I didn't want to change it from how it was made. read more

We ordered 2 matcha drinks ( strawb latte and coffee matcha). Drinks r good size, very filling and grassy taste. This location is inside little tokyo so it is very small, better to take to go and explore the town. It is about $7 per cup. I have tried other TS locations so it is pretty on par. Service was friendly. Drinks not too sweet, pretty standard boba chain but nothing stands out in term of these matcha we tried. 7/10. read more

Solid milk tea/ boba place and right in the middle of little Tokyo. The drinks came out fast and tasted fresh. The boba was bouncy and not too soft. Also they look like they have a rotating seasonal or temporary menu which is something I love when trying out new drink places read more

Honest to goodness, I didn't even know about this location at all until my rare visit to DTLA found me in Little Tokyo. I spent the afternoon aimlessly wandering around and found myself in Japanese Village Plaza where it felt like a compressed space with so many people walking around, waiting around in lines that seem to last an eternity. However, Tiger Sugar's line wasn't too long, and there weren't too many people inside either. I also remembered seeing a boba shop with Tiger in its name numerous times in my activity feed, so it felt like I had to pay a visit while I had the chance. As far as location goes, it's on the corner of a building on 2nd Street directly across from Kura Revolving Sushi Bar. The way Tiger Sugar is placed in Japanese Village Plaza, it can get a draw from foot traffic in two different directions, so I can definitely see it getting super busy at any time during the week. There are a couple of TV monitors above the front counter, one showing the menu, and the other showing five popular new drinks. I was able to snap photos of both from just outside the front door so I could study the menu before placing my order. Plenty of good choices, but since I hadn't been before, I asked about a couple drinks that piqued my interest: Black Sugar Boba Milk with Cream and Black Sugar Coffee Latte. The cashier (Jennifer R?) mentioned that the latte would have at least a shot of espresso, and given that it was later in the day, I didn't think espresso in my drink would have been a good idea. I was sold on the Black Sugar Boba Milk with Cream, which is not caffeinated, so I went with that. Jennifer did ask if I wanted the Medium or the Large, pointing towards the example cups on the counter to help me decide. The Large is 80 cents more, but I felt was worth the upcharge to upgrade to Large after seeing those example cups. I asked about toppings, but Jennifer said it already comes with boba, so luckily, I didn't have to pay the 75 cent upcharge for toppings. Considering we were in DTLA where a lot of places charge quite exorbitantly, I felt $5.95 for a Large drink with boba was reasonable in this part of town. After I placed my order, her bobarista co-worker called out my three-digit number in a minute! I honestly don't recall if any other boba shop has ever gotten my drink ready so fast, but I suppose if there's a constant flow of customers coming in and going out, I should not be surprised to see the bobaristas on their A game during my visit. But with how quickly I got my drink, I do get leery of the overall quality. I liked the drink, but I definitely didn't love it as I felt it wasn't as bold in flavor compared to a similar drink, but with brown sugar. The bobarista who prepared my drink did tell me to shake it, but didn't say how many times. There was a sign on the front counter that said to shake the drink 15 times. I don't think I shook it that many times, but I don't think a few more would have made my drink that much better. That sign also mentioned they were willing to remake the drink if you didn't like it. I mean, if I threw half of it in the trash, something I'm not willing to do for even the sweetest of drinks, I wouldn't mind asking if I could get a remake, but considering there were a half dozen customers that followed me into the boba shop to place an order, I really didn't think it was worth it to have them remake a drink that I liked, but didn't love. In other words, I thought it was good enough for me, especially since it quenched my thirst after a long day in DTLA. The cup I got was an interesting one. It was a pink cup that depicted a collaboration with Hello Kitty. I don't know how long this collaboration would last, so if you're a Hello Kitty fan, stop by while you have the chance! The cup also mentions the drink is best consumed within one hour. Also, the boba in my drink was a little too firm for me to call QQ. Jennifer was pretty good at answering my two questions. I'm certain if I had more, she'd continue to answer with dignity and patience, but I really don't want to be that customer holding up the line by asking questions for 5 minutes lol. They have a small seating area inside the small shop, plus some merch on the left wall that you can see upon entering the shop. In a more suburban area, I can see Tiger Sugar being a nice place to chill and catch up with friends, but I wouldn't do it here with the hustle and bustle of visitors in Little Tokyo. Tiger Sugar has two other locations in California: one in LA as well albeit Koreatown, and the other in Rowland Heights. I don't have a reason to visit either (yet), so I'm glad I got to try Tiger Sugar, which has way more locations in other states. Overall, I liked my drink and the service well enough to recommend Tiger Sugar, though I doubt I'll be back since I rarely visit DTLA. If they open a location in the LBC, closer to where I live, I'd definitely be down to giving them another try though! read more

The quality and taste here are noticeably different from the other location. They had another store in Koreatown, but it recently closed. I can tell the drinks here are much lighter--almost like water. This is my seventh visit since the Koreatown location closed, and honestly, I'm pretty disappointed. I'm not sure how they train their employees, but this is why I used to go all the way to Koreatown, even though it was far from my house. I always order the D1 Black Sugar Boba Milo Chocolate Malts and like to try different drinks as well. But here, it just tastes overly milky, and I can barely taste the Milo (and yes, I shake it well before drinking). The same goes for the strawberry crème mousse--it tastes more like plain milk. If I wanted something like that, I could just drink milk at home instead of spending money here. I usually order "less ice" and "regular sugar," but before, I would get "regular ice" and 75% sweetness. I can only imagine how watery it would be if I stuck to my usual order. The first few times I came here, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking the staff might be new or the lighter taste was due to my order adjustments. But this is the seventh time, and the drinks are still disappointing. I should try the drink right at the store and ask the staff to remake them for me. read more

Overall, it wasn't bad, just didn't stand out. Pros: * Super quick service! We got our drinks almost immediately. * The inside was clean and very quiet, which was nice for a quick stop. This was my first time at this Tiger Sugar location. It's a fairly small shop located in Little Tokyo, and it can get pretty busy since there aren't many boba places located in the plaza. Unfortunately, there were only two people working when I came in, so it took a while for me to receive my drinks. I ordered the mango sago and the black sugar boba milk. The mango sago was decent, but I felt that the cream overpowered the mango taste. However, it came with a lot of toppings which definitely helped balance the drink. it also wasn't too sweet, which is something that I was worried about. The black sugar boba milk was extremely milky. I could barely taste the brown sugar in the drink even though there was a lot of syrup in there. This was very disappointing to me because the black sugar boba milk is supposed to be their signature drink. Overall, I'm not sure if I would come back to this location. I felt that they were very understaffed and that the drink quality was not on par with their other locations. read more

The wait wasn't too bad when I got here on a Friday afternoon. It didn't take too long to get my order either. The tea was more on the bitter and less sugar side; not quite for me. The boba in the Black Sugar boba milk was pretty mushy and it tasted like it was sitting for too long during the cooking process. read more

TLDR: the pearl boba is where it's at!!! I haven't had Tiger Sugar since I was in NY a year ago: I had been craving this place for so long. Not only did their drink exceed my expectations, but I realized why I missed it for so long. Their Black Sugar Milk with Cream (with pearl boba!) is one of their absolute best. I would opt for low ice; it'll still make it cold but it won't take too much of the flavor away. I got the Large so I wasn't able to see my drink (which is honestly worth a star), but be sure to shake it enough times for it all to blend. Special shoutout to the workers as they were SO friendly, and even gave me water (LOL). They answered questions about the menu, were quick with the service, and I was able to get my drink before I took a seat. This spot is located right on the corner(ish) and there are a few tables and chairs inside. There is a lot of foot traffic though, but great place to take a seat at. read more

I like how they were able to customize your drink upon requests. Lots of foot traffic here. The employee was friendly and quick with the order. The taste of the boba wasn't as good as I remembered, I ordered the regular green tea boba tea. Probably the milk to the tea ratio was bit mixed up this time. I didn't taste much milk inside. However, the environment was good and there were a few chairs and tables for people to sit inside. read more
