OMG! Never again. So I was craving tacos de carne asada and decided to try this place based on reviews I read. What a mistake. I ordered the 'Vamipiro' which was ok, it's pretty much a taco on a tostada with a thin layer of melted cheese... this was the first thing I tried and it was good, so after I finished it I moved on to the tacos. The tacos are small (like little street tacos from TJ) they looked tasty, but when I took my first bite I was not impressed. The meat was very greasy and bland. I decided to try one of their many salsas from the salsa bar, but they too were bland... : / I wasn't going to add this because I still feel nasty just thinking about it, but I must.... I must for the good of the people... So my brother had the carne asada burrito and half way into it he found a hair.... eek! Me thinks not... we dropped everything and took off. I guess it's needless to say that the place is not very clean. : / So anyway, I was not impressed and will not return to this place. I will continue my search for the perfect care asada taco. I did not know what to think when I first drove by this place many many months ago. I know the spot, it's where many little restaurants have come and gone. "What would make this place any different" I said to myself. Cheap food in a crappy little strip mall off of Arlington and Van Buren, nothing too special there. Know what I'm sayen? Besides Tapatio market is right down the street, they have good tacos. I finally paid a visit; I wanted prove to myself once again that I am always right, besides it always looks pretty packed, especially at 2am Friday nights (what do the drunks know). Like many have said, Tijuana Tacos are Tijuana Tacos. Basically the same stuff you get from the taco guy at the party. They are real and simple. Meat, cilantro, onion, some green guacamole type sauce with a side of grilled onions and nopales (I don't care for the nopales). They are cheap too; compared to the $2.50 most places are now charging for these tacos (I don't know where they can justify this when you can get a mini meal at McD's for the price of one taco). As far as the taste, nothing too out of this world, it hits the spot when you have a taco craving at cheap price. Something that is out of this world, at least out of the norm is the all you can eat beans!! They give you a cup and you can get your fill of beans with chunks of some type of meat and I think hot dog. They are ok; I just like the fact that I can get as many as I want. Perhaps one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in Riverside. After living along the border in San Diego, I'd say that this place is pretty spot-on when it comes to the food you'd find in either southern San Diego/San Ysidro or Tijuana. Most of what is on the menu are tacos or variations on the taco. They have normal tacos with just about every possible main ingredient you can think of ranging from carne asada to adobada (which you HAVE to try!). They also have special tacos with multiple meats and things like nopales (cactus), onions, etc. And they even also have mulitas which are two corn tortillas filled with meat and cheese. Every single thing on the menu is good, though definitely go with your own meat preference. They even have free beans you can have whenever you want, and you can ask for free nopales and roasted onions upon request. The salsa bar is also quite diverse, featuring many kinds. The place is located inside a strip mall, but it has these awesome flashing neon lights. The inside is painted in bright colors to match its appearance outside. The only major downside about Tijuana's Tacos is that everything is a bit too greasy. The meat soaks off into the paper it is served within. The beans are cooked with bacon, and although they taste wonderful, you may get indigestion afterwards. read more

Checked this place out last nite and it was packed! We ordered a carne asada burrito & 3 tacos: al pastor, pollo & carne asada tacos... yum!! it was our first time and right after we ordered there was a line snaking out the door! & there were 2 other taco places within walking distance so you know its good :) they don't have combo meals... but you can get unlimited beans that are near the salsa ... and those beans are tasty!! Everything we had was good... the only downside was the pollo taco, I liked it, but my bf didn't really... he said it didn't have any flavor. best carnitas hands down and I'm from SD. It is like butter. So tender and tasty. Never disappoints! I always call in my order because the line and wait can be long. Bring cash because last time i didn't, I used my debit card and they have a weird system that is atm like. Then come to find out my bank charges me for an atm fee. WTF? So lesson learned: cash only. love this place. I have been to this location, Ontario, and Fontana and all are excellent and consistent. I looove the quesatacos al pastor and the bacon wrapped hot dogs. I eat here regularly. I have been to three of their locations; Ontario, Pomona and Riverside. Across the board, all three locations had the same quality of food that tastes great! The Riverside and Ontario locations had a clean kitchen from what I could tell. Unfortunately I didn't see the kitchen at the Pomona location as my husband ordered for me. I went to the Pomona location on a Thursday night about 10:30 pm and there was a line out the door. Seating was minimal in comparison to the other two locations. Seating was mostly outside with a few tables. The inside dining was very small and crowded. The salsa bar was messy but what would you expect with the line out the door. It was clean enough given the busyness of that location. The food was so good that I took my friend who was visiting from out of town to try the Riverside location. The Riverside location was very clean and had the same great food. At the time of my visit, they weren't as busy as the Pomona location but we just missed the lunch rush. It was about 1:30 pm on a Monday. The thing that set this location apart from the other two was the hospitality. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and treated us like family. It seemed as though the lady that was cashiering had a genuine interest to get to know us. It made me and my friend feel like we were a part of their family. We both left there saying "Wow! That is one of the best experiences I have ever had at a restaurant". They had plenty of indoor seating at this location. The Ontario location is close to home and has great food as well. Came years ago for my first time. Couldnt remember if it was fire or not, came last week, place looked alot different , they had shut down then re opened. Anyway I thought the food was good ! I got asada tacos no big deal, but my girl said it wasn't that good, I disagreed bc chicks be complaining about little things. I Came back today bc i was craving Tijuana tacos. Like actual tacos from street vendors in Mexico and this place came to mind. The only thing I've had here is the Burro Loco. It's basically three different types of meat (asada, chorizo, al pastor) with beans, rice, onions, cilantro, cheese, guacamole, and salsa. My husband and I split this beast since it's so big. I didn't give this place 5 stars because the service is poor. The girls at the register are super slow and moody. The salsa is also pretty bland but since I order take-out I add my own from home. :) The owner is this really cool young guy who's always in a good mood and makes you feel welcomed. They also give you pork beans and fried chiles, cactus leaves and onions with your order free of charge. (you do have to ask for them though) and another big plus for me is that everything has guacamole. Made a stop to grab some lunch before hitting the road again. This place was busy, so I figured that could only mean good news. I had high hopes as soon as I read the menu - many not-so-common items! I thought I'd give their "Tijuana Dog" a shot - and some tacos wouldn't hurt. For starters, they give you a small cup to have some of their "frijoles charros." All you can eat slow cooked beans, with chopped chiles, onions, and cilantro already prepared - just like home! The beans were slow-cooked to perfection. Their food, however, was not as drop-dead delicious as their beans. My food, though looked delicious, almost felt cold and slightly bland. Just a bit disappointing, I still enjoyed it. Love Tijuana Tacos. Used to go to one in Pomona but this location is much more friendly very clean ...no trash. .has a tv making it more inviting to have a sit down. I normally only order to go Young lady Claudia that took my order was very friendly, very helpful with answering my questions in their menu. Something I never did at the other location as I always felt rushed to place my order. Tables are clean and spaced out so I don't feel like I'm too close to the next table and can enjoy my meal.
