First time at this bar, my best friend's husband was playing in one of the bands so we came to support of course! I really liked the vibe here, such a cool tucked away bar, the parking lot was full so we had to park down the way a bit which was ok! Our bartender was great, I did ask for a lemon drop and my gosh there drinks were strong lol! However he asked if I wanted sugar of course I do, I think I may have been the only one who asks for that drink there lol We had so much fun our bartender was awesome quick with the drinks. Had such a blast, love live music so coming here to watch music made me feel so good and alive! The Raptors were awesome our friends band, The Gringos never heard them but loved it and that was the band our friend's husband played in. Codefendants were amazing absolutely loved them! It was fun going to Costa Mesa and coming here it's been such a long time! Loved this bar can't wait to come back and see more shows. Live music makes me the happiest, I get lost in it and I'm in my own world closing my eyes dancing to the music and feeling it in my bones. Can't get enough of it helps me forget everything! Music is part of my heart and soul and maybe it will heal me! :) All and all this is a great bar good atmosphere they have two pool tables, and some high seating so you don't have to stand the whole time with some tables. They also have an outside patio area for smoking or fresh air also to buy some merch if you would like to. I would recommend this bar, it's good vibes and live music how could you really go wrong? I'm so glad we got invited to such a fun night here! Absolutely come check it out if you like live music Have a badass day :) Aloha

Main thing I liked was the tacos in the outdoor patio. Like really delicious street tacos. $3 per taco but worth. (I like the al pastor and brirra. Chicken if you like healthy, still good.) I ordered like 21 tacos total between 2 people. ***CASH ONLY*** Parking is small. You can park on Newland street if its full. Not a far walk, 2 minutes. There's barely AC. It was hot inside, but cool outside. $10 min for transactions inside. There 2 pool tables. 75 cents per round. I would probably only go back here just for the tacos.

Love the venue for the concert I attended, always support local businesses and bars. This place is a little rough around the edges but would come here for a concert again!

There was an auction fundraiser event here last night and it was a blast. The beer offerings were solid. Mixed drinks flowing and there's a taco stand in the back.

If you're look for a tiki bar this isn't the place. Service was slow. Only thing good was the cold beer and the two beautiful bartenders.

It was a beautiful day, and we were given our choice of patio dining. Our server, Grace, friendly and efficient, was exceptional at checking on us which doesn't always happen when outdoors. She brought our drinks and meals quickly. One friend ordered sliders which she really enjoyed. She commented that it was the perfect size and tastes that she was looking for. Another friend and I split a steak salad. Sharing a salad off a plate can be an awkward feat, but they offer a split-plate up-charge for avoiding that! The salad was simple: steak, cherry tomatoes, and lettuce, but chopped fries were an unexpected addition. Overall, a great fit to get our night started off right!

My friend had to go shopping and so we decided to grab a bite to eat at kenwoods. From the outside, the windows are so darkly tinted. I couldn't tell if they were open or not. But upon opening the door there were people scattered throughout the place. So we just walked into the bar area and got a high top table. Server came up to us, asked us for drinks and handed us menus. He came back shortly after we gave him the order. I had a chicken Caesar salad and a space dust double IPA, my friend just had a cup of coffee. The chicken Caesar was really good, and the beer was as expected. The first cup of coffee that he brought to the table was cold so we had to send that back to get a fresh cup. Now it wasn't that busy so I would think that the server would take a moment to check to see that the coffee was warm, but apparently that didn't happen. I got my food and started digging in and the coffee came out a few minutes later. The salad was good, had a nice size chicken breast on top and the dressing was really tasty, not overpowering. I was a little bit stunned at the bill when it came to the table and it was $35 plus dollars, I guess the food and grocery hikes still surprise me, although they shouldn't. The dining experience was okay, it wasn't stellar by any means, but it was adequate, I didn't felt neglected or rushed in any way. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because of the coffee incident. Having been a server in the food industry. That's definitely one of the things you look for. Bottom line, I would probably come back again. But there are many other places in Costa Mesa to try.

Cabo Cantina in Newport Beach leans more into a party spot than a traditional restaurant, but the…read morefood still holds its own if you know what to order. The atmosphere hits you first. Loud music, packed tables, TVs everywhere, and a crowd that's there to drink and hang out. This place stays busy, especially at night, and works best if you go in expecting energy instead of a quiet meal. It's built for groups, not solo dining. The menu sticks to classic Mexican bar food. Tacos, burritos, nachos, and fajitas make up most of what you'll see. The portions come out large and filling, which fits the setting. Popular picks like carne asada fries, shrimp tacos, and loaded nachos stand out as solid choices. Flavor-wise, the food is good for what it is. Nothing overly complex, but seasoned well and satisfying after a long day at the beach or a night out. The fish tacos bring a lighter option, while the burritos and fries lean heavier and more indulgent. Where this place really separates itself is value. The 2-for-1 happy hour deals and large drinks draw most people in, and the food complements that experience instead of competing with it. Service depends on how busy it gets. During peak hours, things slow down and feel less organized. When it's calmer, the staff keeps things moving and stays friendly. This is not the place for a refined dining experience. You go here for loud energy, big portions, and a fun group setting. If you walk in with that mindset, Cabo Cantina delivers.
