Ugh......Paid Ten Bucks to visit this cave. There are only about 19 parking spaces, so be prepared to chance getting your car towed because you do have to park in other business's lots. If you like dark, wide open places filled with T-shirt and shorts wearing crowds....then this is your spot. Even a brand new pair of jeans will make you feel overdressed. Went there this Saturday night to listen to a great band called "Inhale". The stage is set up very well with not a bad place to view. Very few seats, but that's okay if standing near the stage is your thing. Maybe because I'm just not into Pot or every other person that walks by me and smells like chronic, I just did not enjoy the place. I must have heard, "I'm so Efin stoned" more than half a dozen times. Matter-o-fact, two of the band members were toking out, in plain view, as they set-up their equipment. That's just so wrong.....but that's just me. What does that say about management? I only gave it one star because under better circumstances, the place has a descent chance to give its patrons a good opportunity to put on a good show.....again, because the set-up is nice for a small band performance. read more

This place is what you'd expect from the OC's marginalized white middle to lower class. The entire cast is mostly drunk by 7 PM. So they misquote prices and can't remember who served the overpriced misquoted drinks. Save yourself any stress trying to argue with a crew who quits drinking and tries to interact later in the evening, because they're just drinking again once they close, and go to a bar with a sober team. read more

XNO played here this past thursday for the first time. Its a pretty cool place, the stage was alot bigger then I thought it would be, the sound system is AWESOME and the vibe here is pretty cool. As far as the booze, well I did not have any mixed drinks but I did have some beer and the pricing is reasonable...The only thing I had an issue with is that from the time I booked the show till the time I showed up to play I had no clue who I was dealing with through emails, even after I asked several times through previous emails. I had the impression that they where avoiding telling me, and they didnt have an open communication with me, and I dont work like that, I like to know details, and who I am talking to and plan everything before we show up...I found out once I got there who I was talking to and I will not mention his name, but it was like pulling teeth, so that is why I will not give a 5th star, they also tried to charge the bands girlfriends to get into the place which is totally weak, we had to put the smack down on that and insist that they make a guest list for them, which they did after some persuasion, they also didnt give drink tickets and I can honestly say this is the first place we have ever played that didnt give us drink tickets, but I did manage to get 1 pitcher of beer out of the bar tender right before we went on stage, but that wasnt even enough for the whole band, so that was also a negative, but just because of those things doesnt mean this place deserves a bad review, this place is alot of fun and we will definitly be playing here again. The Tiki Bar - what can I say. The only plus is the bands. The bouncer is a total douchebag and needs to get his head examined. Someone needs an attitude adjustment. Try working on your people skills while you're at it. Do they pay you extra to throw 'F bombs' at us?, if that was the case, you'd be a millionaire by now. I love the parking lot too. I believe the lot can hold up to ten cars, that is, if you own a smart car. They tell you to park next door where they tow you free of charge. The one thing I have a pet peeve about is clean bathrooms. The tiki bar on a scale of 1-10 rates a sad 2 on the bathroom scale. We got there really really early for a concert, so we decided to stay, drink and eat before the show, What we didn't know is that the kitchen did not open until 8 p.m. we got there at 6 ugh!! Big mistake. We should have left and come back. The bathrooms at 6 p.m. were gross, they were never clean from the night before, they had no toliet tissue or seat covers. The sinks were disgusting. Crazy no one ever came and clean the bathroom that whole night. Yes the bartender put toliet paper in the bathrooms. Thank goodness for that. But you would think on a saturday night the bathrooms would have been cleaned that morning. I have serious issues that if the bathroom is unclean what else is?? Behind the bar, the glasses, the kitchen. Ugh!! not a fan of the Tiki bar. Will mostly never go again. read more

I made the mistake of going here to see Pato Banton play last night. I was so angry at the lack of service I ended up leaving before he went on. I sat at the bar with no drink in front of me and money in my hand for over 20 minutes, and not a single bartender even looked at me. I understand that they were way understaffed (in a bar that size they needed 4 bartenders and 2 bar backs, and they had only 3 bartenders and no bar backs), but this was ridiculous. I stopped in here by accident after a movie and I was waiting for taxi service - I was pleasantly surprised by the very fair priced and absolutely delicious drinks - the incredibly friendly atmosphere the niceness and smartness of the waiters if I had one complaint I wish they made a few appetizers but at least they have chips and I rather enjoyed my time at this excellent bar and they really do make great drinks I have no real knocks on this place whatsoever and I will probably try to go there again soon. read more

Don't believe the signs hanging outside! They say that they serve lunch until 6p.m. but you will be lucky to find the kitchen open at 2:45 p.m. It is decent food but you had better call to see if there is a cook; and still be skeptical if they say there is.one!!! read more

Do you want to support live music? Don't come here because they don't. The doorman didn't keep track of who paid to see which band, and when we asked the owner/bartender about it, he said he'd pay us at the end of the night. We were the only band that brought an audience, we kept them there all night (25 people who paid a cover and drank at his bar, in addition to the band who paid for their own drinks), and the end of the night he gave some BS about he didn't cover his overhead for the night. Because in is mind, our overhead, our rehearsal space, our equipment, our time and and promotional efforts are apparently all free and at his disposal. If you are absolutely desperate for a gig, throw a party at home instead. Your friends will save on the door cover and don't have to risk drunk driving so this guy can make his living off you. read more

Since there's no nice way to put it, I'll just say this place sucks! Big time!! Staff was less than friendly. Management booked too many acts and forced the headliners - whom I payed $15 to see - stop their set half way in. Completely lame. I have been to the Tiki Bar several times to see some great bands play! I love how the stage is visble from any part of the dance floor and the stage and dance floor are a good size! There's always a mix of friendly people there and you can meet some great new friends and hear some great new music! The drinks are good and reasonably priced and the bartenders are friendly! The parking lot is small but there is ample parking on the side streets nearby. There is a small door fee but it's worth it! It's one of my favorite bars! read more

Door guy is very rude, if you play in a band, don't expect to have any kind of guest list, or to get paid for playing, even if they are charging 15$ at the door and you bring 10+ people. This happened on both occasions of going there, I figured sometimes people have bad days, but since they were exactly the same as the first time, I decided to write this review. Cheap drinks, disgusting bathrooms (vomit in the urinals), rude/stupid/naked bartender. If you are in dire need to see a naked woman, this is your spot. If you want a drink to go along with that...hopefully you are ordering a (bottled) beer. The semi-naked bartender was so drunk at 3pm today she asked what was in a rum and coke, and took three tries to get a draught beer. She admitted a long island ice tea was too complicated for her. OH- don't give her your card unless you want it swipped through vagina (no, I am not kidding). Attempted this spot a few times after work with coworkers...we offically gave up after today (were also told that the lady in our group needed to leave after 4:30, because the bar wasn't a good place for ladies 'that late' lol). Totally disgusting place, but, if you're looking for a blue collar type bar where you can see boobs that aren't your wife's, this is your spot! alright, I had a lot to say about this place but, after seeing the 2 stars and reading the reviews, I can see that most of its already been said. it's all true. first off, the name is misleading. i thought I was going to a god damn tiki bar!! when I asked about the tiki drinks the gal behind the bar looked at me like I was an idiot. you know what, i get it, bars have weird names. you know, obviously a bar called the firehouse isn't actually a firehouse or a bar called the branch office isn't actually an office or whatever. but tiki bar is very specific!! that's an actual type of bar!! that's like someone opening up a bar called bloody mary's and not serving any god damn bloody mary's. but alright, that's cool, you're not a tiki bar. just some really crappy locals only inside joke I guess. it wouldn't be so bad if the bartenders weren't such dicks though! I've been to shitty dive bars all over this beautiful red white and country, and I've gotta say that these fools easily fit on my top five worst bartenders list. their attitude was awful, they weren't very helpful and, I'm no health code expert but, I'm pretty sure some of the stuff they were doing would not be looked highly upon in the health inspector community. I saw that one bartendress put a beer bottle opener in her pants! not in her pocket, but in between her bare ass and her jeggings, like it was cool. it wasn't the handle either, it was the part that opens beers. it's just..... c'mon Yelp, you don't think that's weird?? I don't know, there's more to say, I'm just kind of over it now. it's a cool enough place, just needs people behind the bar that know what's up. and who aren't jerks. the only cool peeps that worked there were the sound guy and the doorman. super nice doorman dude the whole time, and just seemed genuinely stoked. my girl made a small comment about a cactus in the back of his truck in the parking lot and he came up and was like, "oh you like succulents? here, take a piece!" so now she has a cactus. cool man. you'd think with the consistent shitty reviews and low stars they'd try to change their ways. either they don't have access to the Internet or they truly, truly do not care about what anyone has to say about their bar. either way, I'm never goin' back. suck it, tiki bar. read more

This is a review from a band's perspective. The Good: Stage is big. Has a decent P.A. and lights and the sound guy is cool and easy to work with. The Bad: Don't expect to make any money!! The owner makes you pay $250 right off the top for the sound guy. Then they have some douchebag at the door "collecting" the cover charge. Yeah like he's really gonna pay you what you really made at the door without a couple hundreds not getting stuck in is pocket. We played there recently and the owner(another douchebag) booked a birthday party the same night not only without letting us know, but without giving us a cut from the party!!! Then at the end of the night he gives us a $100 bill!!! He probably made $5000 from the bar plus whatever he charged the people for their party and he gives us a measly $100. Final score: Owner wins big bucks!! Party gets free band!! Band gets fucked. BTW, we weren't allowed to charge the party guests any cover. Bands: go get a gig at any club where they pay at least $100 a guy which is most places in O.C. Skip this place!!!! read more

over all ok spot.. sound system is good, friendly nice bartenders and could have better drink specials. the one thing that did suck, was had a great time at the cinco de mayo party, and then the fat head security guard straight snatched one of the djs/artist's 20 dollar bills out of his hand and said " no, it's mine now!" purely shocked, after attending this place for awhile fat head new exactly who this certain dj was.. and the guy straight got punked for his wages for performing for the night. if you attend here just a notice right now to check your wallet!! and watch out for fat head.(security tool) read more

If you are going to be playing guitar in a band that is not the headliner bring your 15watt recording amp not your 100watt tube amp. I've been playing in punk bands since 1982 and the sound douche at Tiki Bar is the biggest dickhead in the business. He will not let you turn your amp past 1 and a half so every ones amp sounds like a fizzy solid state line 6 POS with no punch or bottom end. Then he will just come up and cut you off stage mid set when time isn't even an issue. This has happened to me there multiple times with numerous bands some very good bands playing a killer set. I won't name the bands as some are still active but they are way too good to be getting booted early by this clown. I could see if the band was terrible but it's not the case. This guy is just a jerk with no respect for the talent that is coming in there and playing in his crappy club for free.Then when the headliner goes on right after you he let's them crank their amps louder(still not loud enough) and they get to play their entire set.
