Went in around midnight on a Saturday with a guy friend. Being new to the area we walked in and went to the bar. There was a guy (not even lying) with his arm and one leg straddled around a blonde middle aged woman behind the bar. They were hugging and falling over some other guy who was w them BEHIND THE BAR. I've never seen 4 drunk idiots behind the bar at any reputable establishment before.. weird. Anyways after waiting for 10 mins for someone.. anyone not too intoxicated to take our drink order there was a pretty cool blonde guy bartender who came and took our drink order. Drinks are regular prices $8 for long island, and $7 jack and coke. They were on the stiffer side. They were so dead they closed way before 2 am.. and we felt awkward being the only few people left so we decided to leave as well. I would have give this place no stars, because they made us feel super uncomfortable. Everyone was way older and drunk and the bartenders never asked if we wanted another drink. My friend and I are the exact crowd they need in this bar. I gave them 2 stars because of the pool tables and their nice flat screens. So GF and I decided to go check out The Iron Maidens (who are awesome!) here at the Tiki. After reading Yelp reviews, I was kinda second guessing this event, however we pushed on and went anyways. We arrived just before 8 and as prior Yelp'rs said, there is very little parking at the event and many of the open spaces had cones in front of them. The place next door has several Tow away signs, I'm not going to allow the CTS to be towed, so we drove down to a side street (about 50 yards from the place) that allowed parking till 2am. I asked the guy at the door about the cones and he said "Band parking" hmmm ok, kinda makes sense. I had called earlier asking about the cover cost and the guy told me $12ea, so when I went to the door I gave the guy $25, he looked at me and said $15ea. I told him that I had called earlier and was told $12, he grunted a little and said since it was before 8 he would let us in for $12 "but next time it'll be full price". So watch for price switching. There was a band already playing and GF and I had the pick of the room for seating. We sat at the bar and people watched for awhile, Yes, lots of old 45+ (ok, me included) and then even older rockers (65+) along with a few creepy looking "low hanging fruit, bar scraping" old dudes (nearly passed out girls beware!), began slowly making their way in with a few 30ish peeps sprinkled in from time to time. The one thing that sucked the life out of this night was GF and I were expecting 2 maybe 3 bands and then The Iron Maidens, sadly, this was not the case as band after band kept setting up totaling 6 before the Maidens even hit the stage at 12:30am. With the only exception of SnakeHead, who were actually pretty good, This may not have been so bad had the other bands not cranked the amps up so high as to drowned out their sound till it just blended into a mediocre garage band's guitar noise and gutteral spew. I swear there was one band that sounded the same on every song with nearly constant speed metal guitar riffs of the same notes over and over and over again. By 12:00 the GF and I were all but ready to head home, but since we had already agonized through 4 hours of noise, decided to stay and see the Maidens. Then they had an equipment malfunction and we annoyingly sat glancing at each other and rolling our eyes for the next half hour. Even though the Maidens were putting on a great show, the GF and I decided to leave after their 6th song, not because of the band, but because the Tiki bar's booking agents assault on our ears for the last 4 and a half hours was becoming just too much. As for the bands low pay comment, I too don't know how the bar could pay all those bands a decent nights pay, because there were maybe 150 to 200 people and the bar girls weren't that busy at all. Final thoughts on this place, If you want to just go to see the headliner, park on the side street, check the price at the door and don't show up till about 11:30 and you may have a good time. read more

pretty decent dive bar. came here on a tuesday for rockband night. no dress code, there isnt a cover charge, and parking isnt a big issue for a week night. it's a really cool set up for Rockband nights - stage is set up with the game and tv and then there's a giant screen in the background so viewers can see the screen and scores. they have a pretty decent selection of songs to choose from and anyone with a band can head up there for a try. the particular night i went was poker hand night which meant scores that made the best 5-digit poker hand won a $50 bar tab. drinks are decently priced (about $5 for a mixed drink). special shoutout to Dena for making quite the stiff drink which was greatly appreciated haha. Gary at the bar was a big help too with his shots and thanks to the Van Gogh coffee vodka people for the shots! it was delicious and i def recommend you giving a try if you're at the Tiki Bar. the place has lots of tvs to watch the game, a few pool tables, plenty of seating and a kitchen that stays open pretty much the whole night. def not a bad place for a chill evening. read more

This place has a lot of potential to be a great hotspot for this area, especially since I get a lot of locals and newbies asking where they can find a spot where they can listen to for live music, live bands, but the only thing is is that this place had a stigma about it. It's known as a hoodrat hotspot made for only old men to google at scantily clad bartenders. This place has great appeal for something great and an AWESOME menu for lunch and dinner , they just need better musical line up, better marketing and advertising, and someone seriously needs to answer the phone. They lose ALOT of business not answering . Especially for a place where greenday had performed, it's losing business. Worst bar ever. Kendra if you can't count to 10 you shouldn't be bartending. I had 2 $5 dollar bills and a $1 in front of me. I ask for a hefe beer and get $1.50 in change. I talk to Kyle the manager and he was too busy sucking his drink down to count the till. What a cluster f... I will make sure to let all my mesa peeps know....DONT GO TO THIS BAR!! Rip off !! Went to the Tiki Bar last Friday (9/26/14) to see some bands play. As the other reviews have already stated, this place was a complete sh*t hole. The thing that made me hate this place all together were the crusted blood stains on the bathroom stall in the girl's restroom. Yep! You read right. Crusted blood stains. We LOVE The English Beat amd when they were playing somewhere close we were stoked. The band, of course, was awesome. The bar itself and the horrible patrons...I can do without. Never will go there again. We will go to Solana Beach or San Juan Capistrano to see them. No security or control of the drunken fools...who will surely make their grandchildren so proud of them. I don't know much about the crowd that frequents the bar (in regards to the above review), but I went on a somewhat slow night before they "officially" opened. Pros: - They have a lot of different kinds of booze. (I counted almost 20 different brands of vodka.) - They have a lot of beer on tap. - They have a lot of nice flat screen TVs if you wanna watch the game. Cons: - There is nothing "Tiki" about the bar. The lighting is bright, and they don't know how to make any Tiki drinks. Biggest misnomer ever. - Also, the drinks were pretty expensive. An awful margarita and a glass of bourbon ran me almost $20. I know this is OC, but come on. Other stuff: - They have 1 or 2 pool tables here. - They have a juke box with some music on it. (Not much, but that's the case with just about any bar.) - I can't comment on the live music since I didn't see any. If they book some good bands, that might bump up their rating. read more

Came here for Midget Wrestling and was not impressed with the Venue. The Security guards kept telling us we could not stand in places so we could actually watch the event. The bouncer was rude and the only good thing was one nice bartender. It may be good on a normal night, but this is not the place to go for an event such as wrestling. read more

I stopped in here by accident after a movie and I was waiting for taxi service - I was pleasantly surprised by the very fair priced and absolutely delicious drinks - the incredibly friendly atmosphere the niceness and smartness of the waiters if I had one complaint I wish they made a few appetizers but at least they have chips and I rather enjoyed my time at this excellent bar and they really do make great drinks I have no real knocks on this place whatsoever and I will probably try to go there again soon. read more

will get two star because i can walk here. I was here a Saturday at 5pm. It was quiet. Creeper trailer trash types.. The bartender, the owners cousin, young and blond was the only redeeming factor... I hope she stays... The TVs are a great touch for a sports fan. I am worried to go back at night because of the constant reports of violent crime in and outside of the bar... I come here on wednesday's ... its a walking distance from my house but honestly i call it BEN WEDNESDAY'S. thats the only reason i give this bar 5 stars.(The Bartender) Ben is dope once you get to know him .. he makes a bar like this who is rated so low worth it. he's one cool dude.... jus like the rest of us... i came in today ( wedneday january 31st ) played some pool with 3 other friends of mine and really enjoyed the time i was there.... Went to see a live band play on a recent Friday night. Good venue to watch live music. Varied crowd inside. I was drinking draft beer and the prices were reasonable less than $6. Place looked like a good place to watch sporting events too as there were HD TVs about. Parking - They have a small lot. I ended up parking on a side street. The place is located in a industrial area, and would probably be a bit creepy for unattended ladies to walk to from an offsite parking spot. Wasn't sure if could park in business parking lots nearby - they all had signs that said they would tow. Bouncer was no help with this question. Cover Charge was $10. I would have given this place a higher rating but for the cover and location. $10 is steep for non-famous local bands. Not sure why it is called Tiki Bar. Didn't get the feel I was in a "Tiki Bar". Ambience somewhere between a dive bar and a neighborhood bar. Didn't try the food. read more

Well I thought I was going to a cool neighborhood bar that was still open. I was so excited when I talked to Kyle on 1/2/21. He said they we're open and that I would be able to watch my game. Everything was great when me and my 6 friends got there. Great Hospitality from Bob, the kitchen staff and Mandy the cocktail server. Between all of us with ordering food and drinks we spent around $500. Low and behold when we received our checks for the drinks there were extra drinks on the bill that we're not ours. Mandy took the extra drink off of mine and brought me a new bill which looked fine. I gave her my credit card and then gave her a $20 cash tip which was over 20% for my bill. I had checked my credit card charges when I got home because I was told by a friend after I left, that that place was Infamous for double charging credit cards and padding a tab. After looking at my account I was charged $20 over what the bill was so not only did Mandy received $20 cash tip but also gave herself another 20% tip. I called Kyle at the bar who happens to be the owner asked him if maybe there was a pre-authorization or any explanation. He hung up on me. I called back 3 times he would not answer the phone. It's just disgusting the way the world is right now and you go and you spend a little money that you have to have a good time and people are still trying to rob you blind. So fellow neighbors beware do not go there unless you want to get robbed. Pay cash as if you dare to go there. read more

So I agree on the taco lady Rude no sense of character .Food was cold I was hungry so I decided to see for myself of the reviews I read so far I agree in a few things . THE FOOD WAS Cold and I would of bought more but she had no business skills. So I ordered 1 and hubby oderd 2 and as my tortilla was cold I disnt want anthor. Iver all the club can use a new decorater nowhere to sit to see the band . Outside nowhere to sit as well with there lawn chairs. Ugh wont go again unless my husbands friend plays again . Perfect place to watch the games while enjoying cheap drinks and great food! Every night is a different set up, whether it be Reggae, Rock or Hip Hop! I recommend the Old school cheeseburger with grilled onions and onion rings as a side. Their sweet potatoe fries are delicious too.
