Have you ever heard the saying that you shouldn't order seafood in restaurants on a Monday? Maybe I should've paid attention to that on my last takeout visit here. I ordered shrimp tika and paratha. The shrimp were on the mushy side and the paratha was kind of tough. I did like the veggies included with the shrimp though...onions, red cabbage and carrots. Service was fine. The restaurant is big (used to be the Japanese restaurant Yasu) and seemed to have two tables with diners, but it also looked like they were doing a lot of delivery orders. Delicious food. I thoroughly enjoyed my Butter Chicken, basmati rice, and garlic naan. I also ordered a samosa and vegetables starter dish which was pretty tasty. I got it delivered, so maybe that's why, but it was slightly mushy. Still, it was absolutely delicious and it came with tangy sauces, such as mint chutney. There is a new Indian restaurant open on Austin street, I'm not a fan of Indian food, but was looking forward to trying some. There are multiple signs for lunch specials, and I went inside, and they checked my temperature, and received my Information, sat me down, and after they did so, I attempted to order the lunch special, and they informed me that the lunch special is to go. However the signs don't state that it is to-go only. So I decided not to order anything, this is because if they aren't transparent on their signs, what's stopping their menu's from also lacking that clear transparency of a restaurant. This place is very new, and I went during Monday afternoon at 2pm, and they only had 1 customer on the premises. I was already inside, and they refused to serve me the lunch special even though it was clearly stated on the sign, so I am lead to believe that this establishment won't last long. read more

Finally Indian food that is worth raving about. Ordered the standard Chicken Tikka Masala and Murgh (Chicken) Vindaloo, Vegetable Korma with Plain and Garlic Naan. All were excellent. Ordered the Vindaloo extra spicy, and had just the right amount of spice for a Vindaloo sauce. Vegetable Korma met our expectations. I requested that the food be fresh and hot at the time of pickup. They executed this perfectly. As soon as I walked in to pick up my order, the trays were just coming out of the kitchen. Best believe the food wasn't just warmed up. The chicken tikka masala was piping hot! I made it home just in time to break my fast and all 3 dishes were still very hot and so flavorful! I wish Tikka n Talk had better lunch specials again! When they first opened up their tikka masala lunch special came with a small bit of saag paneer but now it comes with gulab jaam. Mixing sweet and savory in the same container is weird and there can be spillover and I often am not in the mood for the super sweetness of the dessert. Honestly speaking, I didn't like the food here. I ordered chicken masala and it came with rice. The rice was hard and clumpy. It was obviously days old rice they've reheated. So far so good, I just started ordering here since my coworkers raved about it. I have a high tree nut allergy and I was skeptical on some of the vegetarian menu items since it's kind of known to use nuts in some dishes but once I called and informed them the worker assured me that it was not an issue at all and that as long as the customer lets them know they will do what they can to make it right. Ordered 40 mins previously and then had to wait another 15-20mins as they "rushed" the order through.
