It was a rainy day and jumped in to escape the rain. I was blown away. I really loved the food here! I had the samosa chaat, naan, mango lassi, and rusmalai. The complimentary apps (some type of chips and amazing sauces) make it so easy to make this a five star place. They have basically made this my fave Indian restaurant! This spot has become my go-to Indian restaurant. We ordered the Sheekh Kabab, Pani Poori Shots, Coconut Shrimp, Pav Bhaji, Murgh Curry, Chocolate Chip Naan, and Tikka's Special Motichoor Ladoo Parfait. The Coconut Shrimp was a weekly special, which we decided to give a try. It was creamy and sweet. Not many Indian restaurants offer Pav Bhaji, which we were excited to try. It is on their Brunch Menu (Weekend Special), served with tea/coffee and Parle-G cookies. Tasted home-y and very flavorful. The Murgh Curry tasted authentic with incredible homemade flavors. The Chocolate Chip Naan was amazing; tasted like a chocolate chip pancake! The Laddoo Parfait was a unique dessert, if you like ladoo, this is a must! read more

I was really excited to try a new halal Indian place! Right off the bat, I thought the flower wall and hanging chair was so cute and looked so interesting next to the black background. It was a different looking place than any other. They are very friendly and service was good. They had barriers in between tables and wore masks. We ordered the papri chaat and chicken 65 appetizers. I liked both and appreciated that the chicken 65 was spicy. The chicken 65 is actually huge pieces of chicken and I felt it could be an entree. I liked the addition of pomegranate to the papri chaat. For the entree, we order chicken tikka masala, chili garlic naan, and garlic naan. I'm going to be honest and say I prefer other naans I've had that had more prevalent garlic flavors. It wasn't bad but it was just standard (as was the rice with the chicken tikka masala). The chili garlic naan was not spicy and I was expecting it to be. The reason why I took a star away is because I also expected something different of the chicken tikka masala. I thought it was going to be spicy throughout and instead I had an unpleasant surprise when I scooped from the bottom of the pot. The tikka masala gravy itself is super sweet (almost tastes like ketchup or it could be tamarind) but there are pieces of fiery hot green chili on the bottom. It was painfully spicy as I got a whole bunch in my mouth and made it hard to continue eating. I wasn't expecting that at all. The gravy had a similar sweetness to the red (tamarind maybe?) chutney that was served with the complimentary papadum in the beginning of the meal. So I would order the appetizers again but not the entree. Overall, I might give this place another try and order something else. I live fairly close to austin st and I loveeeee Indian food. I noticed they had great reviews here and figured why not try some for dinner. Fast forward, this is my go to Indian spot! I have some for dinner and leave enough to take to work for lunch the next day. They give a good amount of food, but be clear, for a price! Our family's favorite restaurant for Indian food in the neighborhood. They have outdoor seating if you're still worried about the virus (though it's getting cold now). They will adjust the spiciness level for you - my hubby loves his food spicy, and is content with the default spice level (or sometimes orders a specifically spicy dish). For our entree we ordered the murgh vindaloo, shrimp biriyani and garlic naan. For dessert we ordered the rooh-afza kulfi and for our drinks we ordered the ginger-mint lemonade and thumbs up (my fiancé was feeling nostalgic haha). The appetizers were decent. Completely blown away but the food here. It's my new favorite Indian restaurant. They have vegan options as well which really help when eating out with the husband who is a strict vegan. The vegetable Samos was tasty and not spicy because I can't handle spice. The vegetable korma was soooo good, packed with flavor, full of carrots, peas, cauliflower and butternut squash. My friend and I recently discovered this place on social media and decided to give it a try since we were in the area. We were not disappointed!!! They have a great lunch special (take out only) but we decided to dine in. To start off, the staff members are so sweet. The busser was such a gentleman, he made sure we were content throughout our meal. The waitress, Shweta, answered any questions we had about the menu and made great recommendations: Lasooni Gobhi, Chicken Samosa and the Chicken Tikka Masala as well as the Mango Lassi. The food here is so good! We ordered Golgappa/Pani Poori, Papri Chaat, Methi Matar Malai, and Dal Makhani. The flavors were authentic to what I had during my visit to India. Everything was so good, but the Papri Chaat was amazing and my favorite. It was a mix of savory with a mild sweetness, and crunchiness with every bite. I love how they set up the Pani Poori with the small shot glasses--makes it easier to pour and then take your shot after. Both the dal makhani and methi matar malai were great. The dal makhnai I'm familiar with is dark brown in color and thicker, but the one here is still very good. The methi matar malai is a simple hearty dish of fenugreek leaves and green peas in curry, but it has so much flavor and the one here is delicious. The service was great and everyone is very friendly. There's a good amount of seating inside. They just opened last week so definitely try them out and give them a visit! read more

I felt that all the food we tried was good, portions slightly inconsistent but not bad. Definitely a better replacement to the Japanese restaurant that used to be in this area. Ah, that nature of ambivalence.... First, the food was lovely. A vegan dish, 2 meat dishes, samosas and naan. Nicely cooked and seasoned, fresh tasting. Maybe the lamb was a bit chewy, but who am I to quibble? But, over $100 for takeout dinner for 2 with nothing to drink? I mean, it is Forest Hills and all, but the same meal from the Indian place down Yellowstone is about $30 less with no appreciable difference in quality. Still, that wasn't my real issue. I ordered online, and due to a glitch in their system, the same order was submitted 6 times. I called and told them, and they assured me I wouldn't be charged. $600 later, I had my doubts. Now I know that these things happen, and they did have the $$ returned to my account within 48 hours, but I was bothered by the cavalier attitude. "Don't worry, you'll get your money back. It's not a big deal..." Sorry, an extra $500 on my card IS a big deal. How about, "Hey, we're sorry, would you like some complimentary appetizers on your next order?" or "Here's a 10% discount..." Something. Anything. At least acknowledge the inconvenience. So I enjoyed the food and probably won't be coming back. Go figure... read more

Omg speaking of nightmares. We stopped in for lunch. We realized their server was down and probably should have gone elsewhere by the waiters astonishment of having 5pp walk in. Upon being seated, there was a man who was very loudly, obnoxiously loudly talking on his Bluetooth. Several guests had to tell him to keep it down. We basically ended up having to leave because this man began recording us accusing us of "making racist comments" and "feeling threatened". He felt so threatened that instead of leaving the restaurant, he stood by the counter and called the police. Mind you, there were 2 traffic police already eating at the restaurant who left. He called 911, harassed us for at least 15 minutes (it felt a lot longer than that), pointing finger at us, and taunting us.
