I've never had a bad experience until the last time I visited... the food and everything was amazing but there was an extremely inappropriate employee named Joey who seemed to have no shame in just staring me up and down in the kind of way that makes you feel very uncomfortable and violated to be honest. yeah, this place is the best. I eat here all the time. you can never ever go wrong with the chicken tikka masala. And then I always get the masala fries which are addicting af. idk what spices they use but it's sooo good. if you're not a spicy type of person then you should get the butter masala. it's good too. It's definitely different but there are plenty of options on the menu and once you find what you like you won't be disappointed. This is my 2nd time to try this place and it was much better. I got the butter masala with chicken and it was good, I did not like their tikka masala bc it was too sweet but this had a little more spice. Their chicken 65 is still just ok I definitely like it a Little more spicy. The naan was better this time also. read more

I usually call in for pick up but the atmosphere inside is really cool if you do decide to dine in. It's super modern and I love all the succulents they have potted around the restaurant. This place reminds me of Chipotle when I walked in. I was not impressed minimal decor or effort. I know people love Chipotle and its atmosphere so to those who love that kinda stuff you may love this place. I thought it definitely felt like a quick lunch spot definitely not dinner option for me. The amount of food you get again is a lunch portion. I spent 30 bucks on two meals with a mango drink and bread. I was a bit disappointed with the taste of the food alot of the items on the menu tasted the same and to me the flavor was lacking. The wait for a table was about 10 minutes after you wait in the 15 min line so be prepared to be there a while. The tables are connected so you might have to share with a family with horrible children or a couple who wants to be left alone. The buser was very friendly and the pizza was good too but I was a bit disappointed. I would not crave this place so to me it's a thumbs down. read more

Came to Lubbock from DFW on business and search for indian food and this popped up. I must say the service and food both have no taste. Very nonchalant attitude of the server. Ordered samosa chat, was ok, sheesh kabob and chicken 65. No taste for both. The chicken 65 was almost cold. Would not recommend and will stay away during my future visits. The prices are ok but the quantity does not match the price. Disappointing. One star for this joint as there is nothing lower available. read more

Really good food at a good price. The restaurant was really clean and had friendly staff. I got the lamb curry bowl which was great the rice the came with it was a little plain but when you mix the lamb curry with the rice it's great. I also got naan bread which is a lot like a tortilla with garlic, herbs, and cheese on it. read more

I love Tikka Shack! I always tell people this place is to Indian food as Chipotle is to Mexican food. It's awesome, but don't expect it to have the same authenticity as a place like India Palace. I usually always get the paneer tikka masala. The sauce is very mild and a little sweet and there is usually way more sauce than paneer, BUT I always get them to make it spicy and I get extra paneer. After these alterations, it's perfect. This place actually uses fresh ingredients and it shows. It is a little pricey, but the food is delicious and the portions are big -- I can always make two meals out of one bowl! read more

The menu is not as expansive as a sit-down Indian restaurant, but it has a good number of both meat and vegetarian options. It usually takes about 10-15 minutes to get your food after you've ordered and they can be a little sloppy with timing (they bring one meal out a few minutes before the other) but the food is really good so it doesn't matter too much. They're new so they are still working out the kinks and have areas to improve, but I really like this place and will keep coming back! read more

Good food, terrible service. It took forever for our food to come out and when it finally did it was the wrong order. The cooks could not tell me what was in the food and if there was sugar in the sauces. The food itself was pretty good. I had a chicken Kabob, one normal and one spicy. read more

So what were we?? Not customer? Food has no taste and you could only taste Cream in Saag Aloo?? And most pathetic Naan, they make. Second time here. First time was opening week so the line was crazy long and though food was good it wasn't perfect. Today blew me away. Food was superb, they definitely tightened up the recipes, spicier and all around better. Menu doesn't specify that the garlic naan has cilantro which my wife doesn't like. She ordered it and it came out with cilantro so when I went up to ask for just the plain naan the staff made the garlic again without cilantro and had it to us in seconds and let me keep the first one #extranaan #bestdayever Highly recommend to those who are scared of Indian food. Great fast casual Indian restaurant! Atmosphere is relaxed and modern--very bright and airy. The food is very flavorful and I have enjoyed everything I have tried so far. I would not call the menu "extensive", but it doesn't claim to be and the menu lends itself well to the fast casual style the restaurant has adopted. I would definitely recommend Tikka Shack as the best in Lubbock by far. Service is prompt and friendly and food came out hot and fresh exactly as ordered. The food was super amazing and filing. The portion sizes are on point. We had the biryani, samosas, garlic naan, and the lamb curry bowl. The naan was smaller and fluffier than I would have liked but it was hot and fresh. An order of samosas comes with two stuffed with potato and veggies. They're the size of a child's first. The bowls are deep and biodegradable. The atmosphere is chic, modern, and squeaky clean. The staff was friendly and attractive. They take really good care of this place and their customers. This is the Chipotle of Indian food. It may not be authentic but you get a lot of food for the price. Great vegitarian options. Pretty casual environment.
