Robert has an extensive in-depth understanding about vehicles and the auto industry. He looked around and found the very best deals for me! Having lived in Los Lunas most of his life he knows everyone and whom to trust when he needs other local services to compliment his work. I needed some welding; upholstery work and a few parts from the camper stores besides a new transmission and he knew just where to go. Robert restored my old 1992 old Dodge Camper Van back up to speed. It needed about 40 different little adjustments made to make it more handicapped accessible for me and is now ready to traverse the U.S. and Mexico again. I drive all the way from my home in the East Mountains of Tijeras, NM to Los Lunas, NM because he is such a trustworthy mechanic and so much better than any I have found in Albuquerque to fix Dodges. He fixed up my Honda also. He found things the other dealers were in too much of a hurry to test. Robert laughs easily; is kind; peaceful and so easy to be around and will take the time to really explain things to me on the phone (as a woman he is very respectful to my limited understanding). Robert sincerely cares that you walk away completely satisfied with his work. He is a bit of a perfectionist so be patient if he takes the time to treat you and your vehicle with the best of care. I feel so fortunate that I found Robert at Need a Brake and I would highly recommend him to anyone with any kind of vehicle! p.s. Thank you to Antoinette and all of the Isleta Pueblo for all the help in containing the fire this summer. I was next in line to evacuate! Thank you God for the wonderful blessing of Prayers for Rain. We appreciate it so. We are all so very blessed as God is so Good to us! Sincerely, Suzanne Hruschka

My 76 year old husband called and asked for the price/ availability of a battery for my Subaru. He…read morethen went in to the shop and again was given the same price, he was not told what the cost to install the battery was. Ten minutes later the install was done and he was presented with a bill for the battery plus a $195.00 shop fee. Big surprise, too late to change his mind, the batteries already installed.... So much for supporting a local business. Taking advantage of an older man, you should be ashamed.

i had a horrible towing experience with these people. To make a long story short, avoid this place…read moreat all cost. I've left a Google review that explains it all. They will do anything they possibly can to squeeze another dime out of you. If it inconveniences you greatly, they don't care. If they tow you, they only accept cash. if you need to get your car towed to another location, make sure you arrive at the same time the tow truck does because the tow truck has to be there in order for them to release your car to you. This is because the tow Dept closes at 5:00. The business itself is open until 6:00 though. If the tow truck shows up one minute after 5:00, then they will keep your car and charge you for another day. In my case it was Friday and the tow truck couldn't get there until 5:30. I had to cancel my tow truck, find another ride down there on Monday from Albuquerque, and pay an extra $50.00 for them keeping my car over the weekend. When I called on Thursday about picking my car up the next day, none of this was explained to me. At 4:50 on Friday I asked if I could at least get my clothes out of the back of the car. I had just moved and most of my clothes were in my car still. The owner said no. I had to go without clean clothes all weekend. I called other tow places and was told I was over charged and treated unfairly. My radiator had exploded Wednesday night at Isleta casino. While I was inside arranging my roadside assistance tow, Isleta police had my car towed by these people because it wasn't in a very safe place. Fair enough. I tried to get my car on Friday but it didn't work with their schedule, even though they would have been sitting right there when my tow truck arrived. As it turns out, I didn't get my car back until Monday and was charged 356.00. They had to tow it a whole 9 miles. Avoid this place at all cost.
