We were there on a Friday at lunch time, so, it was super busy. We were lucky to find two seats at the bar, as everything else was taken, and more and more people were looking for seats. At peak time there should be a policy that doesn't allow someone to sit at a table, on their computer, after they finished eating. All that aside, the pizza was the real deal. As close to NY style as we've had in Tucson. We did have to ask to have it put back into the oven, since it was undercooked, for our taste. Our request was received with a smile. The service is friendly, everyone is super nice. The fruits and veggies are very fresh and appetizing. Just going up and down the aisles inspecting their varieties of products was fun. But, the absolute masterpiece is their bread. OMG. I'm a New Yorker, so, I know bread. Without a doubt their bagquette is probably the best I've ever had. Certainly, in the top 3. After living two years in the Old Pueblo, I tried Time Market my last week before moving back to CO. Tragic. Sad. Disappointing. All words I would use to describe the time lost without knowing about this establishment. When visiting Tucson, it's one of the first places I go back to. There's so many options and choices to please everyone, but the menu isn't too extensive to give you decision anxiety. I love the attached market, and always wander through before and after my meal to find some wonderfully curated goodies. If you get one thing here let it be the chocolate chip cookie. I like cookies, but there's something out of this world about this cookie. I dream about this cookie. I find myself hoarding several of these on my flight back home with the excuse "my roommates need to try these" (but generally I end up snacking on the plane and my uber ride home). The atmosphere has a nice ambiance, the service is great! I usually come here on early Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoons with my friend to read the newspaper and have a bite to eat. I ordered the Coppa sandwich they had: baguette, capocolla, havarti, tomatoes, basil leaves, radish sprouts, mayo, olive oil, balsamic (from the menu) and was a little pricey of $8.50, but reasonable for the quality of the ingredients and presentation! My friend ordered their Merguez pizza slice, which was massive for the price of $4 a slice. A little bit thin as far as the crust, but the sausage was decently sized and went well with the ingredients. They have an open lay-out style with a bar stool area right in front of the brick stone oven and kitchen area and then seating with rustic metal chairs, which only adds to the great atmosphere. They have a barrel with water as self-serve, which I thought was nice. The market itself has some great organic ingredients and there are items on the shelves that range from speciality chocolates to essential oils and soaps. There is a great deal of variety. I have not tried food for dinner or breakfast, but the menu looks great and I will definitely consider eating here in the future. read more

Expected a pretty nice pizza for the price point, but my dining partner who ordered it was disappointed with the size and taste. I sampled a small amount and found it was high on salt and not very complex in taste otherwise. Crust was great, and I've found bakery items to be generally good. As someone who eats 90% plant-based, I was hard-pressed to find an option on the menu. Ended up going with the hummus plate. Many salads had cheese that could easily be fashioned without them, so perhaps that is a modifiable vegan option, but why not offer at least one truly vegan salad? Much creativity could go into that, and I'd love to see that applied by the chef. Would be great to see more options for people trying to be more sustainable and cruelty-free with their diets. (side note: sometimes customer experience is below average, wait time above average, and answers to questions a bit pretentious/short as other reviews have mentioned, but I'm just happy to have anyone willing to show up to work during a pandemic and provide me food that I didn't have to make myself, so I'm not basing my review or rating very much on that.) read more

Consistently inconsistent. Sometimes the food & coffee are amazing and the service is great, other times they're bad enough to make me want to ask for refund. Today is one of the bad days. I asked for the WiFi password and was informed that there wasn't any. The cashier shared that if they had WiFi, "come lunch time, there would never be a place to sit." My food was served with spotty old brown avocados. I asked for fresh ones and the response was that they were all that way. My server said she would try to look for fresh ones, then never returned. My latte was unfortunately watered down. Not what I would expect after spending over $18 for a one person coffee and breakfast. That said, the food is amazing when its served with love (and without old avocados). The coffee and lattes are great (sometimes). I suppose it just depends on who is working that day. Kale salad is worth driving from Phoenix for! Pizza slices are legendary. Selection of chocolate bar choices is like entering chocolate heaven. The ambiance is always pleasing and chill- service is friendly and efficient- never have have had a lengthy wait for food or drink service. The market side is quaint, filled with beautiful produce. Im trying to enjoy the pizza here, but it's just not the same. They got rid of the wood fired oven which made a big difference in the quality of pizza. We ordered togo and when we got home, we were missing a slice of pizza, it was all slapped together on top of each other in a small pizza box causing the slices to get oily and flat. I've been here twice since it reopened and both times I had below average interaction with the staff. I know it's tough times right now, but there are other local business around that are trying a lot harder to serve their customers right. I wish a Time Market the best, but I'll be looking to find a new favorite for the future. read more

Swung by on a late Saturday afternoon, really impressive building with lots of natural light and really open layout. My wife ordered a simple salad and the hummus plate, both were delicious. The salad was less than 5 dollars and had a bright vinaigrette. I ordered the Reuben sandwich, the bread was fresh and the homemade Russian dressing was tasty. We sat at the bar across from the wood fired pizza oven so we were inspired to head back to the counter to order a slice of pepperoni to share. Can't wait to come back and try more sandwiches and pizzas. We also took a lap around the grocery area and picked up some beers from their great selection. Very disappointed to see they no longer have a wood fired oven to make the pizza. This was the sole reason I would go there. Today's pizza was soggy and really nothing special. For some reason, every time I go there the employees are very indifferent to the customers. I never feel like they are eager or happy to serve. (Hint to the management...That alone would make a huge difference...) And, my husband was scolded by a young cashier a couple weeks ago for approaching the register to pay before he was "called up". I love this place! Everything is so fresh and local and organic! Their bread is baked in house, sandwich's and salads are made with a lot of care. The pizza, doesn't leave you feeling too full. When you order at the table, they don't bring your drinks, you have to pick them up at the counter - a little odd since they do bring the food, then you're sitting there wondering where your drink is... I love the store - an assortment of eclectic goodies, wine, organic chocolate, sauces, yummy nuts, fruits and veggies - great for taking home to make a special and extra delicious dinner, ingredients are key. I have been her twice now. Both times we have enjoyed the pizza. I have had the margherita pizza, it was good, but nothing super special. We have also had the kale &coach and the caramel heart. I highly recommend both these vegetarian pizza's. They use fresh, mostly organic ingredients. The Greek salad was delicious! They also have a great selection of beer to choose from. We have had yummy fresh baked cookies. The staff is always friendly. The outside eating area is a nice place to sit and eat your meal. A couple of important things: their pizzas are huge! A small pizza will definitely feed two, but we order two different pizzas and have plenty for lunch the next day :). They have more then just pizza!!! Such a cute place for lunch, with so much character! Their options here are endless, from the groceries that you can purchase, to the pastries, coffee, pizza or sandwiches! The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because the sandwiches are a little pricey for their size. They're pretty tiny, but were definitely delicious! We got a slice of the pepperoni pizza (which was huge by the way), the classic Reuben sandwich, and roasted red sandwich. We even went into the market and got some chips to go with our sandwiches so that was pretty cool. Overall, I'd go back for a lunch date, but I wish their sandwiches were much larger or came with a side so that it'd be more worth the price and would make me come back more often! read more

This review is for their coffee only. I first reviewed Time Market last fall and now is time to go back again. I found out the owner found a Probat roaster in Louisiana, purchased it, brought it back to Tucson and rehabbed it back to working order. Personally I love old Probat's, especially the era from the 1920's. I've heard all kinds of stories about the owner as well so I was intrigued to find out. Too bad he wasn't there when I showed up to investigate... I ordered a doppio and the person behind the counter pulled it for me. They obviously have had no professional training and no clue on what they were doing. The shot pulled in 14 seconds and was horrible. So I did the only thing any respectable critic would do - I bought a sample of their espresso and took it back to the shop and pulled my own! It was actually a pretty nice and smooth shot of espresso! Obviously a blend of Americas and Africa. It was lacking on the roasted nut and caramel, but did have some nice notes of lemon and full body. I'm hoping that the time that has passed has allowed the staff to embrace what it is to be a barista... read more

BAD COVID CUSTOMER SERVICE. We are all in a pandemic, I get it. But when customers approach and enter your business with their face and expression masked maybe you could try greeting them. Maybe you could ask them if they have any questions. Just maybe they have never seen your business rearranged for take out only w paper menu and price signs. It was noon and I was ready to purchase lunch and an adult beverage but no one would acknowledge me or offer assistance. Every time I come to Time Market it has been a good experience. The food is tasty and always served up quickly. I really like the ambiance of time market. It's not your everyday deli. The booming music adds to the upbeat atmosphere and the rustic hipster decor lets you know that you are most certainly close to downtown Tucson. I've had more than a few dishes here over my visits, But my favorite tip is to let you know that they whip up the best home baked chocolate chip cookie with a dash of sea salt you've ever tasted. I literally sometimes pull over if I'm in the neighborhood and run in just to get a cookie for to savor at home later on. As far as other dishes I have tried...I've had their pizza here, which is pretty delicious. I'm a fan of a large think NY style slice. Ive also had their Hummus plate, which is a great addition for those of you that are vegetarian like myself. The dolmas on the hummas plate are top notch and my favorite part of the dish. The only thing I would change is that I wish that they had more comfortable seating. The flat wood and iron chairs definitely add to the rustic hipster vibe but are not so kind on my 40 year old tush. Also during peak lunch hour sometimes the only option is sitting at the bar if you're not willing to step onto the patio.
