A+ Customer Service Hands Down. I came in at 5:26 on a Saturday (4 minutes before they close) to ask how long it would take, and if they'd have time, to change my watch battery. At 4 minutes to close, I was honestly expecting them to say they couldn't get to it today (and I wouldn't have blamed them if they had), but the man behind the counter took a quick look and said "sure! I can do it right now." I barely took one lap around the showroom before he told me it was ready and after paying, I was back out the door at 5:30 on the dot. He had even set the time and date on it. It really says a lot about a small business and it's employees when they're willing to do even the smallest service (that honestly probably doesn't make much of a profit) when they're literally minutes from closing on a Saturday and off the next day. This is my "go to" store for basic watch repair and battery replacement (but for very high-end or specialty / antique watches, Feldmar is the best in LA). If you want to buy or repair a Seiko, Citizen or similar watch or small clock, Timeland has great prices and great service. I bought my Seiko at Timeland more than 30 years ago, and it's still my favorite watch. It stopped working recently and the owner of Timeland (her name is Penny) said it needed a new mechanism (as well as a new bezel to replace one that had fallen off years ago). She said it was still a great watch and worth fixing. The cost turned out to be even less than she quoted, since (she explained) the parts cost less than she expected, so she passed the savings on to me. I recently inherited a simple, nigh ancient Seiko Digital Alarm-Chronograph from my late grandfather. I was anxious to wear it in his memory, but he had much smaller wrists than me and I couldn't locate any extra links for the band! I'm so incredibly lucky that the owner at Timeland was there, just about 30 minutes before closing! She happened to have the exact, now rare links that I needed to get the proper fit (she said she'd had them since they'd been open for 30+ years), and replaced the battery as well. All of this for a seriously reasonable $30, a small price to be able to wear a little piece of my grandfather whenever I want. The watchmaker here is amazing. I went back for resizing the authentic Gucci watch I found and had a great experience. Today, I went in to get a battery for an existing watch and to resize a Rolex I purchased. The watchmaker noticed a rattling sound - I don't know how he noticed it! He explained to me when it should make that noise and when it shouldn't. He even showed me a Rolex he had to compare it. Thanks to him, the watch is being sent back for them to examine and returned if needed. My experience with this place is absolutely wonderful! My husband and I brought our watches here. We had our watches cleaned and checked. I believe this is a family business and they really are doing a good job as a team. The mom is very sweet(Penny) she was teaching me how to care for my watch.. how would I know these things, in stores when you buy something they never taught you how to care for your watch.. she had Nu teach me how to adjust my date if I will not use it for awhile. Never knew these things until we came here. Their prices are really reasonable. We have Rolex's and Tag's... i went to the Rolex store once to have my watch polished and their charged was hefty, that made me thinking I didn't really need it so thats it it wont get cleaned for years:) Glad to know that timeland can do the same for a very reasonable price (its not cheap though but way lesser than the retail store) She also taught me not to put anything after market in my watch. That will decrease the value of the watch. Bottom line here, they do not just change batteries, sell and change straps for watches, fixed and repair but they do give you knowledge on how to take care of things that are precious to you. In my impression, the do things for the customers with passion, integrity and they do really build a relationship with their customers. Also, if past President Ronald Raegan, Elizabeth Taylor, and any other high profile trust them, why shouldn't I? Their reputation seems to be really beyond expectations. I highly recommend Timeland for all your watch necessitys! Penny and her staff are the definition of professionals. I had previously taken my girlfriends limited edition disneyland bulova watch to other locations for repair and was turned away because they didn't have the tools to open it. One place did have the tool "Westchester watch works" but they gave me an outrageously overpriced qoute to repair it. After having it for a month, they even returned it to me damaged with scratches.
