The person arrived and simply used a heat gun to melt the ice, working for only one hour. When he finished, he demanded $716. When I spoke to him on the phone and asked for a discount, he threatened to call the police if I didn't pay the $716. I advise everyone not to go to him or contact this company; they are thieves and scammers, and I cannot trust them. They are thieves, thieves, thieves!... I advise you not to trust the service and nobody should ask for help from these services.

Typically we use Rick's Towing, but due to it being at the end of our workday, I reached out to tailhook towing, as they are literally one road over on Commerce Street. They sent a truck over to winch us out of the mud, a process that took under 30 minutes. One month later they sent me a bill for $700. I emailed him back asking if this was a mistake. It was not. Skip claims that this is the industry standard for winching. I reached out to two other companies, both of which assured me that $700 for a winch out, one block form there location and not even after hours was insane. I would not recommend Tailhook towing.

The literal fucking worst…read more I was in an accident on a trip to Vermont, and I live in Massachusetts. The state trooper who was first on the scene called snow and tow and to their credit, they arrived quickly. While the vehicle was loaded onto the truck, I asked where my vehicle was going, to which the driver of the truck replied Junctions Auto. Keep in mind I was visiting Vermont and have absolutely no idea what garages are in the area. I then double checked and asked when to call them, he said in about an hour, and then gave me their phone number. I was given a ride back to Mass as I assumed it was going to be set from there, the following day I called Junction Auto to ask about my car. The man who answered said they didn't have it. Naturally I begin freaking out, immediately calling Snow & Tow Services to which I received no answer, but I'm not sweating it yet, they could be busy so I leave a voicemail. A day goes by with no call back, I call again, no answer, again leaving a voicemail. Fast forward two full days with still no reply, and every time I called up until this point, it was during business hours. I ask my friend who lives in Vermont if they could check out their lot to see if it was there, when they drove by, there was nothing there, not just no car, but no business. The address they have listed leads to nowhere. After another day of no response I go straight to the police, and majestically within the same day I get a panicked call back from Snow & Tow Services after they received a call from the Police. I ask "why wasn't my car brought to Junction Auto?" To which he replied they never said that they never said that. After explaining that I quite literally don't live in the state and don't know what or where Junction Auto is until the driver of the truck who instructed me that it was going there, told me that. He continued to deny everything. I spoke with both Junction Auto and my insurance broker, and they both said the same thing. "They're a shady company who rips people off" Avoid this towing service at literally every cost.

I went to get my car inspected at the Autosmith the other day. Not because I heard good things…read more(just the opposite), but because I was feeling lazy and the Autosmith is close. They inspected it right away, and found that I needed new springs in the front--they said mine were broken. Their two options to fix the issue would have cost me approximately $615 (the "cheap" option) to $665. Well, folks, Tracey Phelps doesn't have $700 kickin' around, so I got a second opinion. My boyfriend, Jake, took a gander at the springs and being a car guy, noticed that the springs WEREN'T BROKEN AT ALL. The paint was peeling off, but otherwise totally fine! He then told me that the Autosmith tried to rip him off in the past and that I should head over to Bob's Auto in Essex. All in all, it cost me $65 for an oil change and inspection at Bob's Auto, as opposed to ten times that at Autosmith for work that I didn't even need. I know Autosmith is trying to expand and pay for their new stuff, but can they give their neighbors a break? I can't afford to pay for your new shop, and neither can most of us in this cruddy recession.

I was glad to see they found an issue in my front end (go figure with the wonderful roads in VT) while doing the oil change. It cost a bit more than a free oil change, but was certainly reasonable and the service was very prompt. Thank you again and I would recommend anyone to try them out for fair prices and honest quality.

My wife recently purchased tires from here. She had purchased a discount voucher from Deal Chicken…read morewhich was $33 for a winter tire to summer tire install, and at the bottom it stated that it also entitled her to $100 off a set of any 4 tires. She went in a week before her install to get a quote, showed the sales person the offer and told her for sure it allowed the discount, and gave her a full quote for the tires. Today she brought the car in, before having any work done once again had the sales person verify the deal, and once again stated that it was fine. However, after the work was completed, she was told "the offer was one or the other, and that it was all DealChickens fault and we had to fight with them if we wanted anything done. We've had a lot off issues with that this week". I stated that had they told us from the offer wasn't valid we would have been fine, but we had gotten quotes twice stating it was fine, and that it was illegal to charge more then the quoted price without prior authorization. I was directed to call the owner, Rob. Rob was incredibly rude to me, and called me illiterate (he stated the coupon clearly stated one offer or the other, which it didn't; also, his employees verified that as well), and proceeded to tell me that he could "take his new tires off and put my old piece of sh!t ones back on". All of this over $35! I'm not upset the offer didn't work, I'm upset with how it was handled, especially since two different employees quoted us. Seemed very much like it was done on purpose, since the issue was found immediately after the work was done. I will never, ever go back here. What would I deal with for issues if I had left and immediately gotten a flat, or a tire band was bad? I bet I'd be told I was on my own. Stay away!

So I decided to call Vianor to see if they could get me in on short notice, the attendant on the phone was very accommodating and let me know it should not be a problem. I was there 15 minutes after the call and like clockwork my truck was in and up on the lift. Not only that they were able to help me with a simple e-brake issue I was having and removed a pair of stubborn running boards that were stuck on my truck, all for a very reasonable price! And believe me I watched the attendant take care of this and it was no easy task, one where most places probably would have charged me far more or simply told me it they couldn't do, a big thank you for this! On top of that the gentleman who installed my tires was very informative and professional, he even offered to turn on the TV for me while I waited, beyond that he also gave me some great advice on some other issues I was concerned with. In today's world we are always worried that the places we trust our auto needs with try and point things out that we really don't need, but in this case I can say the treatment and service I received was beyond professional and helpful. I would highly recommend taking your car or truck there. My wife's car is next in line for tires/service needs and I can assure you I will be going back to Vianor. Thanks again, and keep up the great service! I had seen the other reviews prior to my experience, and have to say mine was great, sometimes the extra time we do have to take is well worth it to get great service in the end!
