This is my favorite restaurant in the Sunny Isles-Aventura-Hollywood area. Unfortunately, there is pretty slim pickins up here. I had the mozarella balls with oven roasted tomatoes and eggplant as an appetizer. Forget everything else this is really good. As my main course I had snapper with shrimp raviolis in spicy broth. I live in Sunny Isles and often find myself at Timos meeting somebody. I really do not get why this place is as popular as it is. I lived in italy for 9 years and can reassure you that timos food is beyond terrible, and when (and if) you manage to find one good item on there, sure enough the menu is going through another seasonal cycle and has changed again! The service too leaves a lot to be desired... Doesn't follow up on custom cocktails, forgets requests, and lacks any courtesy. The only good thing I can think of is its interior. Five of us dined at Timo on Thursday evening. We all had pizza which was terrific for three reasons: wood oven pizza, great flavor combinations, inexpensive wine by the bottle. We got there at 6:30, just before the rush. Thank goodness we got our order in before all those people came. I would not hesitate to recommend for pizza. Really disappointed. Read the reviews and thought it would be great. Food was ok, service was very slow - and we were there at 6:15 on a Sunday night. Drinks for kids - lemonade were all ice and $5 each, refills not free - and we weren't told. We had a birthday, they had us pick the dessert we wanted, took them 30 minutes to bring it out - it was ice cream, then they not only charged us for it, but charged us more, because we split the three scoops of ice cream between 2 kids. Steak - $44, was burned; we asked for it medium well. Pasta with Alfredo for the kids / we ordered it special request was $21!!! All around, not impressed! Ok, so after reading so many great reviews and hearing so many amazing things about this place I was so excited to get a chance to eat there. We got there before the rest of our party so we decided to grab a glass of wine at the bar. It was a great atmosphere and despite the fact that I didn't recognize anything on the wine list (and I work at ABC fine wine and spirits) it was cool to try some new stuff. I got a brut rose sparkling from burgundy and my boyfriend got a really good chianti. so everyone got there and we were sat and this is when it all began to go downhill... two big problems: our waiter sucked big time, and the food was, i hate to say it, mediocre at BEST for the price we paid. The best part of the meal was a white truffle pizza we all shared as an appetizer. my crab raviola was ok, I feel like I could've gotten the same thing at the Olive Garden. My boyfriend got the mezzaluna with sausage and he liked it, but I really didnt like it. Our waiter apparently thought he didn't need to write anything down. For 2 people, not a problem, I'm sure it isn't difficult to remember food for two people. But we had 5 people. He forgot my dad's soup, but most importantly he forgot my boyfriends entire entree. thats a huge deal when EVERYONE else has their entrees, and he is sitting there without anything. The one thing I can respect is that the waiter admitted his mistake, when he could have easily blamed it on someone in the kitchen, and he did comp us 2 desserts, which were mediocre at best as well. as a last note though...i've heard that the chef/owner leaves for the summer...so im HOPING that this was not him cooking this night. read more

I have never been more disappointed in my life. I have been recommended by a few and have lived in bay harbor for 15 years. Locals and my native Italians and I felt like eating early on a Saturday evening. Not only was I treated with poor service by the hostess, she just about wanted to seat me. They obviously have no clue of Italian food they live on the tourist industry which has no clue.. It is ashame. To my local friends never attempt this poor quality restaurant that has nothing but poor service and mediocre Italian food that the average american would not know the difference. read more

My dinner was just OK. Not good by any means but now awful. I had eaten here years ago and enjoyed the food. Now things have changed. I had a delicious lemonade to start with, accompanied by a superb surf 'n' turf that not only made me write my first review on Yelp (this one!) but also achieved the status of best dish I've had in my life. DELICIOUS!! We ordered fois gras as small plate, amazing! Then we had burrata ravioli and prosciutto pizza. The ravioli was extremely fresh! Like no Oder. I really wanted this to be great. I read the reviews and I was SO excited to bring my friends here based on what I had read. We had a group of 9 people for dinner to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant itself is nice- noise level is great- easy to talk to each other. The bread basket is awesome. The menus looked good. Unfortunately, our meal experience was hit or miss at best. Several of us got the Miami Spice menu... maybe that was our mistake? The appetizers were good- not great but still good. The entrees... not so much. Dishes desperately needed seasoning. My steak was sliced into five pieces- but there was so much fat that I had the equivalent of two slices that were inedible. The desserts were just meh- nothing special and on the small end portion wise. And we sat for 30+ minutes between each course (like 30+ minutes AFTER we were done with our dishes). Overall, it was kind of a bummer... and it wasn't like I expected a personal serenade or anything- but a simple "happy birthday" from the waiter would have been nice. read more

One of the very worst dinning experience, starting from lack of service to terrible food. I don't understand the raving reviews, could we have been the exception? We arrived to celebrate our anniversary and was looking forward to an exceptional evening at Timo but we got stuck with one of the worst servers ever; I had to search him out several times including going to the kitchen. The meal started with fois gras which is my fav and it was great but the steak and pasta dishes deserved to be tossed out. The pasta dish was not pasta but soup, and the steak had no flavor which is why I was chasing the server looking for spices to make something out of nothing. Not once did the server stop by to inquire of our experience. My partner and I are young professionals with a crave for fine dining experience and we're quite disappointed. What a pleasure it was to have stopped here. We went to dinner with my hubby and cousin since our original idea was closed. Since we got to Timo service was exceptional, our server was very polite and knowledgeable. We started with a black and white pizza and the smoked pear appetizer, both were very good. Then the Chef sent out a bone marrow small bite as a courtesy, what a sweet detail! I personally didn't have it since I'm a vegetarian however i did try the gnocchi's and mushrooms that came along with the dish, and I could tell the flavor was amazing, they said it was the highlight of our dinner. For main course I had the branzino & asparagus dish, super fresh and delicate. They both had the duck breast both loved it. Unfortunately we had to skip dessert, but all looked tempting. I would definitely recommend it. Maybe date night or a night out with friends since the ambience is very cozy, upscale yet not pretentious. read more

OK, for most of us the location sucks. It's tough to get excited about a third rate strip center in the middle of a bunch of massive empty condos on the beach just north of the Broward County line. But the food is special here. It's worth the drive from South Beach or Ft. Lauderdale. Someone told me the owner is a former Mark Militello chef. If true, it would be another example of Mark's protege's outdoing the teacher. From the crispy oyster salad, to the sausage stuffed chicken thighs, the whole artichoke, the brussel sprouts, the bronzino; it's all good. The wait staff knows the food and the wine and takes good care of you. And who really cares if they're not vegan friendly? read more

Love this place! Went here a year ago while in town, and had to come back on this visit. We got the risotto special (with lobster--yum!) and branzino (also, yum), and then shared a chocolate cake (again, yum). Had a bottle of wine we'd never had, and we will look for it on other menus to enjoy elsewhere. The selection of wine isn't huge, but we applaud it for its variety. Next Feb. when we return to Sunny Isles, we will also visit Timo. read more

I went with a friend Friday night it was packed but the prices are too steep and the food is not so good. One of us ordered the salad with chicken she said was fine but nothing fancy. Another dish we ordered was the branzino pretty good fosh but at the same time very very expensive for the taste. Not recommended if you don't want to soend a lot. read more

My Fiance and I went for dinner here for our 2 year anniversary. We ordered the Ricotta pizza as an appetizer along with the red and white flights of wine. They were both so good. The pizza was delicious and had right amount of cheese on it. For our main course my fiancee got the lamb and I ordered the salmon. The lamb was probably the best I've ever had. I loved the salmon too. It was cooked just perfect. The orange gelato ice cream is to die for, along with the chocolate molten cake. Overall, it was an amazing dining experience. Our server was awesome. Very attentive and made great suggestions. I just wish our tables weren't so close to the other people eating there. But everything else was perfect. Yellowtail and grouper were great. Service was excellent, but the bill put a damper on the whole experience...$42 for 3 glasses of house wine and an 18 % tip added for a party of 2. Amazing unique food - just found this gem recently while living in Hallandale. Food is obviously creative/unique gourmet as well as some upscale favorites and though this is an upscale/$$$ restaurant, they definitely please with portion and flavor! For example, the lamb meatballs with goat cheese came with 5 meatballs and 4 potato/cheese delicious dumplings. I expected smaller portions just because of the restaurant type, but everything exceeded my expectation. They also bring you excellent bread and breadsticks to the table. The truffle carpaccio pizza with cheesy potato puree instead of sauce, is unique and AMAZING - you will crave it a few days later and return for it! Service was excellent from the welcoming host to the prompt and friendly waiter. It's easy to see why this gem has been here for over ten years! We were so full after the meatballs and half of the gourmet-size pizza, that we ended up bringing our whole duck dish home! DELICIOUS! Romantic for date-night also. read more

The best dining experience I've had in sunny isles! Our server was great, made other great restaurant recommendations for us to try down here..and the food! We both ordered seafood dishes, the branzino and tuna. Both plates were completely finishes, no leftovers they were so good..also split a side of the mushroom risotto. Best meal I've had down here, everything was beyond perfect and seasoned just right. The risotto might have been my favorite I've had..only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is the abrasive hostess (I've worked in fine dining for years, hosts are the first face and interaction a guest has..being rude and short w guests isn't gonna help the business) the food gets 5 stars! read more
