Delicious food and fast service! Perfect for a casual lunch date. Standouts for us were the steamed momos and kashmiri curry with lamb. Super fresh, delicious, nicely portioned for 2 people. We also tried the dosa and it ended up a little too much so we had to take some home. The complimentary papadam and carrot pudding were a very nice touch Great experience, would love to visit again!

We were looking for a lunch place for our graduation celebration. Picked this place based on solid yelp reviews. Our experience is consistent with other reviewers. Our party of 10 people had an excellent time today. The staff were very friendly. Food arrived pretty fast. They put it all together so well in spite of the many different dishes we ordered. Taste and spices were in perfect balance. Flavors may not be exactly authentic but I still liked the overall taste and the finesse. Everything was done as per our special requests. Kudos to JD and the chef.

We were looking at new restaurants and were excited to see Timur open up on 9th We got the meal for two and it was a great meal overall. Portions could probably feed 3 or 4. We are big eaters and we had enough for leftovers The meal for two had all the popular dishes and they were all good. We got to try a bunch of food for $60. The naan tasted fresh and came out hot. I liked that the outside texture was hard but the inside was soft and chewy. The team/staff were friendly and asked for our feedback on their food. The chicken came out on a sizzling hot plate on a bed of onions. Reminded me of the presentation of kalbi and it was really tasty If i had to give constructive feedback, it would be that we weren't into the dessert.

Wow. And I mean WOW!! I've lived in the neighborhood for 8 years, and have always gone to a particular Indian restaurant that is solid, and the people are warm and welcoming. SO, when this new restaurant opened in their spot, I hesitated to go; I felt like it couldn't be THAT different. Tonight, I finally looked at the menu, was intrigued by some items I've never heard of, but then ultimately decided to order a few of the standard go-to dishes that I gauge by: - onion naan (kulcha) - VERY GOOD - chicken momo - VERY GOOD - shrimp tikka masala - BEST I'VE EVER HAD, didn't realize it could have this depth of flavor (almost a bit of wonderful char flavor, buttery, complex) - saag paneer - SAME AS ABOVE! Amazing food, and the warm and friendly service to match it. Only issue? Too full too quick. **Important note: my basic photo does not do the food justice! RUN DON'T WALK.

We live in the area and picked up take out for dinner from timur. We got: samosas, timur chat, chicken tandoori, veggie biriani, ginger-garlic curry (chicken), paneer stuffed naan, garlic naan, chili momos, and rice pudding for dessert. Everything was so good and flavorful and a nice portion! They were very nice and pick up was pretty quick after ordering. We will be coming back and dining there soon!!

We were not going to eat here. We climbed out of an Uber here. We turned on Yelp and saw this was "new and hot ". The staff saw checking out the menu, and asked us come in. So we decided to give it a shot. Glad we did. We've eaten Indian food all over the world and we lived in Hong Kong and we ate it there a lot. This is on par of some of the best we've had. Everything was very fresh and had the right amount of spice. Breads are huge! Prices are reasonable, portions generous. Upscale setting with white table cloths and cloth napkins. The prices are not what you would expect from such a nice setting. Two of us chowed down for less than 40 bucks! The staff is excellent and cares about you having a good experience. If you love Indian food the way we do, be sure and check this place out while you're in SF.

We were strolling through the Inner Sunset looking for dinner when a friendly staff member lured us in with a sign for a free glass of wine and 20% off the bill for first-timers. I am so glad we took the bait! Atmosphere & Service The restaurant is clean, spacious, and feels a bit "dressy" with crisp white tablecloths and neatly set tables. However, I didn't feel out of place at all wearing a hoodie and jeans--the vibe is welcoming. The service was top-notch. Harsh and JD were incredibly friendly. Harsh, in particular, was enthusiastic and asked if we wanted to go the "experimental" route. We said yes, and he steered us toward dishes not commonly found in other Indian/Nepalese spots in SF. The Food * Timur Chaat: An incredible starter that blends cold and warm temperatures with crispy, smooth, and chewy textures. The flavors were amazing and set the stage for the meal. * Jhol Momos (Vegetarian): Harsh recommended the veggie over the chicken for more flavor, and he was right. They arrive piping hot in a savory, tomato-y broth with a steady, black-pepper level heat. It's the definition of a juicy comfort dish. * Chicken Hariyari: Super tender, juicy, and moist. The flavor profile is very unique and incredibly savory. It was great on its own, but even better when dipped in the Jhol Momo broth and topped with tamarind sauce. * Medu Vada: Grounded, seasoned white lentils fried into crispy donut shapes. Harsh taught us the proper way to eat it: cut into fourths, sprinkle with salt, dunk in sauce, and immediately follow with a spoon of sambar (vegetable soup). A fun and tasty experience. * Sizzling Brownie: For dessert, this is a hot plate of chocolate sauce, sliced almonds, and a brownie, topped with vanilla ice cream. The crispy, burnt brownie parts stuck to the plate are delicious. It was a bit too sweet for my personal taste (I usually get 25% sugar for boba), but the ice cream was fantastic. Drinks Since I'm not a big wine drinker, Harsh kindly allowed me to swap the promotion's free glass of wine for a Mango Lassi. No regrets--it was one of the best I've ever had. Rich, thick, and packed with mango flavor. Welcome to the neighborhood, Timur! With sincere service and unique cuisine, this place is highly recommended.

Great new (as of 2026.2) Nepalese Indian restaurant on 9th Ave! Food is not overly heavy nor it is salty or sweet. Fully flavored dishes. Please make sure you mentioned preferred level of spiciness. Well priced and good value. Worthy of visiting with family and friends.

Really nice desi food with additional regional dishes. Service 10/10. Owner checked in with us a few times to make sure everything was good. Quality of food. 10/10. Generous portions for the price and very clean food. Not oily. right amount of spice. Environment. clean. elegant and homey? would return. my new favorite indian/Nepalese restaurant

Visited during their soft opening and had a great first experience. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and excited to walk us through the menu, which made the visit feel relaxed and personal. We were able to try a few items, and the quality was definitely there. The butter chicken stood out right away. We also really enjoyed the papadam as a perfect starter. Overall, the food felt thoughtfully prepared and exceeded expectations for a soft opening. Excited to come back and try more of the menu once they're fully up and running.

Incredibly delicious food with a varied menu. We've eaten lots of Indian and Himalayan food, and this had much more nuance of flavors. Really kind staff that made great recommendations. It's on our short list of places to go in the city when we go to Golden Gate Park or the museums. Thank you!

Towards the end of our meal around 8:15 restaurant was mostly full but still a few open spots. Food: Okra Fritter - okay, solid portion size, sliced okra in a pakora like batter that added a hint of nuttiness and a touch of spice, served with tamarind and mint chutney for dipping, fried crispy, fairly dry and not oily Onion Persarattu - a thin dosa sprinkled with diced raw onions served with 3 chutneys and rasam soup, dosa was very lightly seasoned, didn't see any of the green gram mentioned in the description, dosa lacked crispness and ate a bit soggy, chutneys were okay but fairly bland Paneer Tikka Masala - minimal spice, creamy with a hint of tomato, okay portion size wish there was a bit more paneer to sauce in terms of ratio, need more seasoning and wish this was a touch saltier Service was lacking, tables were set with plates napkins silverware and two bottles of water which was nice. The rest was a pretty mixed bag, felt rushed to place our order once the group was seated they checked in twice in the span of 5min to see if we were ready. Food pacing once orders were placed was fine maybe 10-15min for dishes to be prepared and served. Once we were done eating staff did not check in to close out our bill for 10 min, when we finally did flag a server down we wanted to pay with blackbird so they told us to checkin and we waited another 5-10min before we were actually able to pay the bill. There are so many other great Indian spots in the Mission, would suggest those over this spot.Food felt under seasoned, service was lacking. I will say price point felt reasonable and maybe the kitchen and staff were off the evening I visited.

Starting off with what was good though, their mango lassi is tasty and momo chili dumplings are so flavorful with great texture. I would say they excel at their doughs in general because their naan was also great (especially the onion stuffed naan). Their Sewa/kale chaat was also passable (but would love if the kale pieces were bigger so that beans don't cause it to be as soggy after a while). That being said, it seems like they could do a little better with packing a flavor punch for their other dishes. Their shrimp tandoori was good but nothing to write home about. Lamb biriyani was also good but could've been stronger in flavor. Chicken tikka masala seemed like it was lacking something (but not sure what...), and the artichoke pakora didn't taste like artichoke? Thought it was still decent... I also think their tamarind chutney could be a bit thicker in consistency (maybe like that of the mango lassi), the mint chutney was nice.

"Authentic" is one of those words that gets thrown around in reviews of ethnic restaurants without…read moremuch thought behind it. People use it to mean tasty, or familiar, or just different from a chain. That's not what I mean when I use it. To me, authentic means the food isn't pretending to be something it's not, that the flavors and intention come from a real place: heritage, roots, memory. My benchmark is simple. When someone who grew up eating this food says it tastes like home, that's the review that matters. That's the one I trust. Keeva earns that word. Rita is the heart of it, but Keeva is a family labor of love and you feel that from the moment you walk in. When the restaurant first opened she told us about the dream they had to bring the taste of home to the people of San Francisco, and you could feel it. Her kids were often playing in the restaurant when we'd stop by. That kind of detail tells you everything about what this place is. What made me a regular wasn't just the food, which is delicious, it was Rita coming to every table, checking in, teasing us about why she hadn't seen us in a while, steering you toward something you hadn't tried yet. She didn't do this selectively for certain customers. She did it for everyone. That kind of warmth is rare, and it's the whole reason eating out is worth doing in the first place. The dishes are made with intention. You can taste the difference between food that was assembled and food that was cooked with purpose. Keeva is the latter. And if you ask for spicy, prepare yourself. I used to live about a block away and this was my go-to. Moving out of the Inner Richmond meant leaving Keeva behind, and I genuinely miss it. If you're in the neighborhood, what are you waiting for? If you're not, it's worth the trip!

Copra is an absolute masterclass in coastal South Indian cuisine that completely recalibrates your palate. The Fillmore space itself is gorgeous--dripping with lush greenery and high-end tropical energy--but the absolute culinary obsession happening on the plates is the real story. We ran through a massive spread, and honestly, the flavor profiles are loud, complex, and unapologetically bold. The Standout Drinks -Jaggery Sour It hits that perfect balance of sweet and tart, with the jaggery giving it a deep, complex molasses-like richness that pairs beautifully with the spice of the food. -Salty City: refreshing and addicting Food hits -Mysore Masala Dosa: My personal favorite of the night. The dosa itself has that elite, perfect crisp-to-chew ratio. Pair it with the tomato and coconut chutneys, a heavy dusting of podi, and that rich onion sambar, and it's pure perfection. -Thayir Vadai Chaat: A total texture bomb and another personal highlight. It's got this incredible contrast between the cool yogurt, sweet date chutney, and the crunch of the Madras mixture and cashews. -Varuval Sea Bass Collar: Absolutely phenomenal. The fish was cooked to absolute perfection under that heavily spiced varuval crust. The karavelli curry it sits in is incredibly rich, and pairing it with the clean, bright snowpea poriyal and basmati rice made it an elite main course. We also dug into the Shrimp Vennai Roast (smothered in a brown butter chili chutney that is pure crack) and the Slow-Cooked Octopus with that sharp jaffna rub and grapefruit. Dessert -Jigarthanda: You must save room for this. The frozen caramel milk bar combined with milk jam, nannari, and the crunch of candied cashews is elite-level dessert engineering. It's sweet, cooling, and the perfect antidote to the spice of the meal. Last but not least, you must try their filtered Indian coffee. It delivers a strong nutty subtle sweet flavor. Service is sharp, fast-paced, and genuinely passionate about the menu. It's vibrant, energetic, and entirely worth every bit of the hype. A shout out to Ser taking care of our group of 6. She helped us make decisions for orders as we were divided in what we want. Lol

Unfortunately my experience here did not match the quality of food I tasted for dinner at the Rooh in Palo Alto several years ago. We ordered: - Dahi puri: unfortunately they came pre filled, so you couldn't do the fun poke-and-fill that makes this snack fun. The filling also seemed to be just pure yogurt. No potato, no mint chutney, no tamarind chutney. Bland, I'd skip - Bombay pan bahji: an artisinal take, with butter brushed soft rolls and a pile of lemony and buttery mashed filling (with a slight kick!). Delicious but requires assembly - Vegetable kofta: the dumplings themselves (falafel-like) were pretty bland, but the gravy/sauce was a heady mix of saffron and cardamom that addicted your tastebuds with its sweet and savory combo. Soak up with some saffron rice - Signature paneer pinwheels. 3 pinwheels (like a sideways paneer lasagna) in a smoky sauce. Again the sauce really carries this dish - soak up with some saffron rice - The garlic naan was dry and tough. - They didn't even have any chai?!
