I walked in for lunch on the weekend with a group of friends. This place was well decorated inside and looked a bit more elevated than the average casual lunch spot. I ended up ordering the chicken tikka salad and naan combo off the lunch menu and was pleasantly surprised. The salad was pretty good, but the star of the show was most definitely the naan. I've never had such flavorful and tasty plain naan before. Everyone in my group raved about the naan. I'd come back here just for more naan!

Very good spot! Reservations made a few weeks in advance for a group of 6 for a Tuesday night at 6:30pm. Service was very good, we always had help when needed, the waiter was joking around with us, the owner/manager also came and invited us to an open house with appetizers they would have at their restaurant. Cost was $48.68 per person total; we ordered 2 starters, 4 entrees, 1 dessert. We had tons of leftovers. * Aloo Tikki Chat (March special. $13 for two) - 4.5 stars. Very delicious, great mixture of textures and flavors. * Roti's Bread Basket ($14) - 4 stars. I prefer a little fluffier, softer, but this may be a regional style. * Chicken Tikka Masala ($21) - 5 stars. I've had this dish a million times, this one was so creamy and rich and had a light sweetness that wasn't overpowering. I never thought this dish could stand out, but Roti did it! * Palak Paneer ($17) - 3.5 stars. A little bland to me, but nice thick texture. * Roti's Dal ($15) - 4 stars. * Kashmiri Biryani ($18) - 3.5 stars. A little underflavored. The pineapple seemed out of place to me. * Gulab Jamun ($5.50 for two) - 4 stars.

Walked in for dinner for a table of 2 and was able to be seated immediately. We ordered the chicken korma curry, garlic and basil naan, butternut squash soup, and lamb samosas. Everything was amazing!!! The chicken korma curry was recommended by the waiter and it did not disappoint. We also made it spicy and that was such a good decision cause it added more depth to the dish. The naan was also just amazing. We had to order another one because of how good everything was. I loved this place so much and so happy we decided to try it. Would definitely come back again, especially for the chicken korma curry and garlic basil naan.

Came here with my friend who's from west portal and has been going here since he was very young (he's 20 now)! The owner immediately recognized him and greeted him which I was thought was super sweet. The service was great and the inside ambiance was calming and nice. It definitely seems like a family staple with customers who look like they've consistently been there. The food was so good. The chicken tiki masala was very good with amazing flavor paired with the saffron rice that was fluffy and flavorful. The naan was flaky and buttery + we tried one of the cauliflower vegetable curries that was also great! The only thing that threw me off about that dish was the pineapple which I wasn't a huge fan of. Overall great experience and will come back for sure.

Its been quite a while since I visited Roti, and it won't take as long to come back. Everything was great on this lunch visit. We had Chicken Tikka Masala, composed of boneless chicken tikka smothered in a tomato and cream base sauce with butter and mild spices. It was accompanied with basmati white rice and a cucumber and tomatoe salad. We also had Jheenga Palak with jumbo prawns cooked with spinach, fenugreek and spices. It came with naan and the same salad. Service was great.

Came here for Sunday lunch. Place was only about 30% full. We made reservations but didn't need it at the time. We were greeted with a smile and serviced immediately. We did have to ask for anything because the server was quite attentive. Please was clean, well decorated and welcoming. Food was very good but not great. Everything was tasty and d we have no complaints. Was hungry and in a rush to eat and I forget to take individual pictures of each dish. Darn. I hate that when it happens. Enjoyed the experience and will return. We do recommend.

The original plan was to grab some lunch items at Whole Foods, but who doesn't want to try a new restaurant?! Walking into the restaurant, it's a little unclear if you order the counter and they bring you food or if you're seated and you order at the table. We quickly figured out that your order at the counter and then grab one of the tables and they will bring you your order. I found the restaurant to be unkept, and most of the tables that did not have customers sitting at them were super dirty. The tables hadn't been cleaned from the previous customer/customers. We had already ordered and it was that quick mental conversation of are we expected to clean the table so that we can dine there or what. Thankfully, a bus boy appeared, and he didn't seem overly eager to want to clean the table that we were standing at but instead wanted to clean one that someone was dining at. It was kind of odd. He took a couple of swipes at the table and it really just removed the food that someone had dropped all over the table. Just not a comforting feeling when you know that you'll be dining in that same spot. Our food came out fairly quickly, and I was super excited to have a good meal. We ordered the lunch special, which included a lentil/garbanzo, bean side, CTM ( chicken, tikka masala), rice, and naan. We ordered one mango lassi to share because we figured it was easier to try it, then order too much. You can always order more, right?! The mango lassi was very underwhelming. It locked through mango flavor, and that hint of tanginess. I just felt like I was drinking warm mango juice. I definitely have had better. With the lunch plate, we upgraded the naan to the cheese naan. I love carbs like anyone else does, but I found this to be basically bread that someone had put curry flavor in with a couple of cubes of cheese. So basically curry powdered bread. Yuck. The CTM, I found the chicken to be very sparse in terms of the portion size, and the chicken was very rubbery. It was overcooked, and I specifically had asked for little to no spice. Apparently that request was ignored. The lentil and garbanzo beans were tasty, but the garbanzo beans were undercooked, incredibly hard, and the flavor profile was really weird. It couldn't decide if it was supposed to be spicy, spicy, and salty, or something in between. The rice was OK. It had far too much fenugreek in it, and again the flavor profile, even combined with the CTM just was a little offputting. The guy behind the counter was fairly friendly, but it wasn't that warm and inviting friendliness. Is this a place I would go back to? No, not at all The one thing that I really enjoyed was the artwork on the walls.

This fairly new restaurant is super cute, cozy and had that authentic vibe upon entry. We were greeted warmly, then scored the awesome super sized table near the window because of our party of 6. Overall, the place felt homey and I appreciated that we were able to have a lively conversation without having music or typical restaurant noise to compete with. Our order: The Momo platter $17 Explosive chicken $14.95 Sherpa mix grill $23.70 Kukhura lamb tulsi $20.95 Chicken makhmali $20.95 Shrimp biryani $20.95 Dudh chiya $3.95 Mango lassi $4.95 18% gratuity was automatically added, which brought our total bill to $165.22 Portion wise, I have to say each dish was small and between the 6 of us, we were really only able to get a few bites of each dish. I also found that most of the flavors were not very strong, as I'm typically used to. I do have to admit that our party had request mild in the heat level but even the garlic naan was pretty bland and it didn't taste or smell like garlic, even though we could visibly see lots of garlic flakes on the naan. My dudh chiya was also lacking in tea essence, ginger, cloves and cardamom -- basically tasted like steamed milk... I wish I was more impressed as I did appreciate the warm service and overall ambiance.

I can't comment on ambience as I have only gotten delivery but I've drive by many times and it looks nice. I've gotten other food in the past and it was always solid but nothing too memorable. What I really enjoyed was the onion kulcha- pretty big, stuffed with onion pieces, and soft - and the lamb korma. The lamb korma is rich and full of nicely cooked lamb pieces, caramelized onions, and tons of flavor. It is a sweeter dish (I also got it mild) but that is expected for korma with the onions and cashews. I would for sure get both again. The veggie pakoras were also a highlight- nicely crunchy and served with excellent mint and tamarind chutneys. The saag paneer is not your typical saag paneer and much more spinach forward with I kind of liked. It had a ton of big pieces of paneer which I appreciates. Not my favorite saag paneer I've ever had but good and definitely a more interesting version- I generally liked the fact that you could taste the spinach. Chicken tikka masala was fine, I have had better but not bad. Aloo tiki appetizer was a little small but okay- I would opt for the pakora over it for sure. The naan is good too, again not my favorite but a good portion and nothing to complain about. Overall it's somewhere around 4 stars for me- generous portions, seemingly solid ingredients, and everything was tasty. All the food was nicely packed too and made for great leftovers.

Sam also went out to get a cake, at my request as well. The food was EXCELLENT and we tried many different things (chicken and salmon tandoori, samosas, garlic naan ...). One of our guests had the lamb vindaloo and said it was the best she had ever had. The service, food, and hospitality were all five stars. I would give more stars if I could.
