Had a veggie pie from their food truck. Instructed them that I wanted a whole large pie and he said they're personal pizzas. I ask how big and he made a circle shape as wide as his torso so I said that was good. He ask if I wanted garlic butter and I said "of course". $15 isn't terrible for a medium sized pizza. Well, it was all a lie. The pizza was barely bigger than my palm and the garlic butter had zero flavor. Was it garlic powder and butter? If so there wasn't much garlic. I don't mind a thin pizza but this was thin and over cooked, basically a cracker with sparse cheese and a reasonable amount of toppings. No flavor, terrible pizza, overpriced. read more

While having a beer at Wedge Brewery we watched the Tin Can food truck struggle to keep the engine running long enough to park. It seemed like it had just enough juice to make it to the door then with a pop and a bang it cut off. So with that kind of entrance, My curiosity was peaked and I decided to grab a slice. The crust was fantastically thin and flaky. Pizza sauce was flavorful and also light. Sautéed onions and olives- this was the best pizza I have had in Asheville- ate all of it on the drive home. I LOVE Tin Can pizzas. The crust is really thin and has a delicious sweet red sauce. My favorite is the Margherita. Simple, tasty. The pizzas are a small size, perfect size for one person if you're quite hungry or for two to split if you just want a light meal. Imagine a world that is so amazing that someone decided to combine two earth shattering inventions - pizza and a food truck. Friends, imagine no longer because it's a reality. The pizza is delicious in a way that few vehicles could ever provide. It's not cracker thin, but not sponge thick, and the best way I can describe it is how Goldilocks described one of the three bear's porridge - "It's just right." Pizza Crust is deliciously thin, crispy & overall incredible! Dough is always cooked to perfection out of the dozen times I have indulged while attending shows at Pisgah Brewing Company in Black Mountain! Specialty pies feature the perfect balance of flavors and you really just can't go wrong with anything on the menu!. We happened to be at the Wedge at Foundation when Tin Can Pizzeria was there. I had very low expectations for a pizza food truck, based on previous experiences with other pizza trucks. Well, I was pretty blown away by the quality of the pizza from Tin Can. We ordered this amazing pumpkin cream pizza topped with sausage and arugula and it was to die for. I would seriously go to the Wedge on Tuesday just for this truck. How they possibly make such a tasty pizza with gourmet level flavors in a truck is beyond me! read more

I've had many personal pizzas in my time on this earth- but let me tell you that none have taken me to the level that Tin Cup Pizza Truck bestowed upon me today. First off the service was benevolent and expedient. The menu is to the point and has a choice for most diets. The ingredients are fresh and the dough tossed per order. You can smell your pizza finishing up and taunting your senses. I crushed the entire personal pizza in a single breath and am still intoxicated by its culinary delight. Had this pizza at Turgua Brewery and it was delicious! Thin crust pizza done really, really well. Had the Bianca and a pepperoni and both were legit. The garlic butter crust on your pizza is a MUST, I usually don't eat pizza crusts but there was not a crust in sight when we were done. read more

We had their jalapeño poppers pizza. Great flavor! The thin crust was good, but a portion of the edge was burnt. No matter, It really hit the spot. I would have given 4 stars, but the staff was rude. My wife asked the lady a question and a minute later we could hear her making rude comments from the back of the truck such as, "what a stupid question..." and "she must be drunk..." This hurt her feelings. The other gentleman working with her was very nice and professional. read more

The best pizza I have had since moving to the south! This food truck has their crust down; paper thin, nice crunch and chew. Fresh ingredients and a decent prices to boot. If you're dedicated enough to work inside a food truck equipped with two, full-scale commercial pizza ovens in early August, you better be able to make great pizza that keeps folks coming back. The Tin Pan team has done just that. Located just outside the Wedge Brewery, they offer 3-4 types of pizza at $8-$10 per pie. Grab a microbrew, run down to the truck to place your order, and ten-minutes later a thin crusted miracle arrives before you in the courtyard or on the porch. Price is right, service was quick, pizza was above average. The only foibles I had are probably due to it being a food truck: lack of drink selection and menu options. I know it is Asheville and they can park outside breweries and let you get drinks elsewhere, but for those of us who aren't beer drinkers and don't want to pay $5 for a soft drink at a bar nearby, it would be nice. And actually, I take back the toppings thing, because it forces you to appreciate a plain pizza or try something new sometimes. But seriously, a little more variety in the drink cooler or another ice chest please. read more

Hands down, the best pizza in Asheville. From a food truck. Really. Gourmet 9 inch pies for $9-10. Thin crispy/chewy crust that has all the flavor you could want. Find them parked at your favorite brewery all summer and winter, but be aware, they can only fit so much dough and ingredients in their truck, so try to order before 8pm at the latest or they might be sold out... Actually, if I think back, its better than any of the pies I've had anywhere else, including Atlanta, NY City, or Rome. Really. read more

Cassia is definitely one of the top ones. This is some of the best and most original Thai food I've ever had. They are a regular at Cellarest Beer Project in West Asheville. The food is prepared fresh, but the wait is not too long. And if you sit in the right spot, you may be able to enjoy the fragrant scent of Thai food as it is being prepared in their mobile kitchen. We started with the Firecracker sweet potatoes. These amazing little jewels are mashed sweet potatoes wrapped in the same coating as you'd normally have with a spring roll or won ton. They had a wonderful crispy outside with a flavorful sweet potato mash inside. The spicy mayo dipping sauce was excellent, but we also loved dipping these into the golden curry sauce that came with our curry duck. Where do you ever see curry duck BTW? The duck was cooked perfectly and not at all grisly or chewy. The curry sauce was absolutely incredible. Great flavor along with a nice kick. Between eating the duck and jasmine rice with the curry sauce and dipping some of the Firecrackers in it, there was literally not a speck of curry sauce left behind. We also had chicken Laab Gai. The mint leaves in this were really tasty and not overwhelmingly minty. The sticky rice was good. These came with cabbage leaves that you can roll the meat and rice up in to create a sort of Thai taco. This was good, but not at the same level as the duck curry. Maybe a bit more sauce would help. Prices are restaurant level but well worth it given this is restaurant-quality food or better. We paired the food with two fine beers from Cellarest. The Czech-style Moonglade Tmave pivo had great character. The Weald Oktoberfest Marzen lager was also excellent. Both went very well with the Thai food. Apart from maybe the dead of winter, this will be a place we go back to for more great Thai food.

Overall, we had a pleasant and quick lunch here; the staff was nice and it's decent value for the price point. Would recommend.

It wasn't the best salad of this type that I've had, but it made for something crisp and fresh to pair with a pint. All that having been said, my suggestion would be to go for the beer. If you want to order food alongside your beer, that's secondary.

We ended up parking on the street up the hill near some residential homes, but don't let that deter you. One of the coolest parts was being able to watch the doughnuts being made right in front of us. There was a line when we arrived, and we waited about 15 minutes to order and another 10 minutes or so for our doughnuts. Even with the wait, I'd do it all over again. The doughnuts were incredibly fresh, warm, light, and fluffy. Every flavor we tried was delicious, but the vanilla glazed and the toasted almond sesame cinnamon were my favorite. If you're in Asheville, this spot is definitely worth a visit.
