Has really gone down hill since new ownership has taken over. I used to go twice a month for pedicures and the last several times I've been in there we have waited up to 45 minutes after our appointment time, the prices went up and the quality and care of the nail techs went down. I relocated to Jupiter 10 days ago and dreaded the thought of looking for a nail salon. My realtor suggested Tipsy and one other place. I called Tipsy and Jenny answered the phone. She could not have been anymore friendly or accommodating. Upon arrival I was greeted warmly and felt right at ease. I proceeded to have a full set of pink/white dip nails, a first for me. The young man did a nice job and I was pleased with the short and natural look. After he finished and left, Jenny took a look and found some slight bumps. Without skipping a beat, she drilled them down and made them smooth as glass. In my experience, nail salons rarely if ever do something like this unless you make a fuss. Wonderful customer service and very clean facility! I walked in and was politely greeted and directed to the waiting area for pedicures. The receptionist also showed me where the polish selection area was and asked if I need anything to drink. I waited no more than 5 min before the tech came over to bring me to the station and again asked if I needed a beverage. The tech asked asked about the water temperature and introduced herself by name and asked mine which made me feel very comfortable. The tools were all individually packaged which is a huge plus! Beware the Tuesday/Wednesday 20.00 pedicure special. On Friday, I booked at 230 Tuesday appointment. Appointment was confirmed on Monday. Upon arrival Tuesday, not only could they NOT find my reservation, but the owner had decided that week to not honor the special price on pedicures. Been a customer for 4 years. Have seen this happen before during holiday weeks, but the Tuesday of Mother's Day week? Come on. And no notice. Not a word when I confirmed on Monday. The poor receptionist was mortified and told me customers had been complaining all day, and even called the owner, but he wouldn't budge. And I refuse to pay the 32.00 they charge, for a BASIC pedicure. They lost a loyal, longtime customer over this. So beware. If it's Halloween, a full moon, or raining outside, this owner changes his prices at his whim, and you, as the consumer, are just SOL! read more

I went in for a regular polish mani/pedi. For my mani I wanted "chrome" polish. She said they have that but only in gel. I agreed to have a gel even tho I planned on regular polish. She used a purple base coat of gel polish and then rubbed in a fine glitter over the nail. That was "chrome" I told her that wasn't what I had in mind but she insisted that's all she had. When I got to the register I was charged $90. For a mani/pedi! Cashier stated I had "special services" I advised she may have the wrong client information as I had a regular polish pedi and gel mani. The woman that did my manicure advised me they are charging an additional $10 PER HAND for the "chrome" that was applied. She did not advise me there was any additional charges! No one likes to be put on the spot with surprise charges at the register and luckily I had enough money on my to pay or that would have been even more awkward. TIPSY was recommended by two friends for different reasons. My main reason for going there was based on their business hours. My 5:30pm appointment was perfect for my hectic schedule. TIPSY is a trendy high energy salon and spa. Loud music, bright lights, lots of movement and chatter, all the while serving up a decent selection of wine. It was full of young and stylish patrons. I walked in the salon feeling like an old frumpy house frau and left feeling like a beautiful Real Housewife of Palm Beach County. Jeremy was my stylist. He introduced himself to me as I relaxed with a glass of Shiraz at the wine bar. We talked a bit about what I was wanting done with my hair. Jeremy patiently listened to my frustrating bad hair stories. He explained different cut techniques with me and discussed shades of brunette color options that best suited my overall expectations. His knowledge and unassuming confidence slowly gained my trust. Once I sat in his styling chair he constantly and clearly explained what he was doing and why. The end result was an exceptional cut and perfect color. Jeremy brought my hair back to life. I was there getting a mani and pedi then asked for a eyebrow wax. The woman took me in the room and talked me into threading. I never heard of it and she told me its $65 and lasts for 6 months. She did my eyebrows and partial face. 2 days later hair was all over my face. I went in a few weeks later and told the front desk. They really didn't care but did say it only lasts for a few weeks. Any way I went to Eden Nails on PGA and Nancy does the threading. She is amazing and it's only $30 for a full face and she is super nice. I got there now for my nails as well. read more

A friend of mine has talked about Tipsy for quite some time. Today when my regular manicurist was out of town, I gave it a try. What a disappointment. The receptionist was lovely on the phone and when I checked in. Unfortunately, that is where the positive experience ended. I told my manicurist how I like my nails shaped and that the current length was good. She ignored my words and filed down my nails and shaped them incorrectly so I have square edges instead of slightly rounded ones. I used her nail file to fix one of them but she did not do the others. The cuticle cutting was awful. The first nippers were so dull that they ripped skin instead of the area needed. I asked for a new pair to be used and then realized that the manicurist was the problem. The 'massage' was more like someone barely touching my arms and hands...just enough to get the lotion to lose its color. As for the polish application, I have some on my fingers. I am thankful that I wear nearly clear polish because if it was a deep color, my fingers would be that color. Such a disappointment to leave knowing that I had to go home and shape my nails. Truly, a very disappointing and frustrating experience. read more

Selected the $45 spa pedicure or whatever they call it. The "spa" part was lackluster at best. Usually after I get a spa pedicure my feet are soft and smooth for days. My feet were just as rough as when I went in. The massage was not very enthusiastic to say the least. Then we get to the nail painting... I requested french. I was reading and not really paying attention and when I looked down she was finished with the tips and already applying the top coat but the tips were completely uneven and I swear I am not exaggerating but it truly looked like a child had done it. I wish I had taken a picture. I just looked at her in shock and asked if she could please redo it to make it even (I was being very nice). She did it again. It was much better but still looked pretty bad but I figured that was the best she had. Then she asked me to get up and pay without even allowing my nails to dry. When I was paying, I kept waiting for the girl to ask me how it was so I could tell her but instead one of the hair stylist tried a desperate attempt to recruit me for a hair cut. As soon as I got to my car they were messed up (due to not drying them) and I went back to complain. The manager had someone else do them and they looked a little better but I had this done on Friday, and by Wednesday the polish has already come off! almost completely off of my big toe!! This has never happened before and I have been getting french pedicures for years! Oh and when I got home I realized I had large amount of paraffin wax all over one of my legs/feet. Went over the weekend with a friend and we both had terrible manis. I went with the OPI gel (Louvre Me Not) which seemed watered down because it took four coats to almost look like the color. I ended up with a sort of obmre look.. It's a bit more reddish and thin towards the base of the nail and more purple (normal) at the ends of the nails. My manicurist didn't speak English and her work was unprofessional and very sloppy. I had to ask her to file jagged, crooked nails. She either missed the edges of the nail completely or got the gel all over my skin. She also, accidentally, kept getting the gel on random places on my hand. She missed the tips of about half of my nails. The top (clear) coat is barely covering my nails. When I went to pay at the end of the manicure and the cashier asked me how everything went, I told her that I was unhappy and she insisted that I let them "clean it up." She seemed to agree that it wasn't a good manicure and wanted me to "leave happy." I said I would prefer another manicurist, but they put me with the same woman and she was very confused as to why I was back. She smiled and started filing my nails. I knew it wasn't going to get any better and just showed her that she missed the tips. She added more gel to the tips and sent me on my way. Now I have this line of thick gel on the tips of my nails. NOT a good look. My friend's nails were pretty much the same and since she didn't ask for a third and fourth coat of color, like I did, you could see through the nails!!! I still can't believe I actually paid the $30. I just wanted out of there and didn't want to have to argue with anyone. I am so embarrassed that I brought my friend there. I received a text from them about their $20 pedicures given on Tuesdays and Wednesday's. I decided to check them out for a pedicure. Upon entering, the receptionist said I could go on back and pick a color. After that, I wasn't directed as to where to go, immediately to the pedicure chairs, since it was not busy or to sit in the waiting area. Someone quickly noticed this and came over to me. They explained they were a full service salon and the lady was very friendly and accommodating. They used liners which is great, as all nail salons should. The place was clean and service was very nice. It was only a basic pedicure, but that is what I wanted that day, but I will be back! I had a mimosa during the pedicure and It was delicious! They even offer their cocktail pedicure which offers exfoliation on certain days for $30 instead of $40. I'm from out of town but was in need of a pedicure during my visit so decided to give it a try. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and it was surprisingly quiet. The salon was clean and modern, and had ample pedi stations. A unique feature that I don't usually see at salons at home is that they have a full bar in the back. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately offered a drink, and they kept offering refills! When selecting a color, I noticed they had a huge selection of gel options, probably 3 times more than my salon at home. I opted for the basic 30 minute manicure for $30. My technician did a great job on my toes. He was very thorough and used clean tools. I left extremely relaxed and happy with the results. Drinks are not free and not cheap. They have a variety of spa pedicures available but they need help because the actual service needs improvement. Their dip it powder manicure is adequate, but nothing special. They do have a nice variety of colors though. Basically, services are just ok. The concept is really cool. My daughter and I went there yesterday for Mother's day and got Gel manicures with regular pedicures. The service my daughter received was great and we are happy with her results. She was pampered and the guy doing her nails was very friendly. Mine however was horrible. Evan was rude and even made fun of the work he needed to do on my feet, right in front of me. My feet were not bad and the amount of scrubbing he thought he had to do was actually quite painful. The manicure wasn't any better. He for some reason thought he needed to sand my nails down to do the gel mani, and then put 6 coats of primer on them. He then rushed through the rest of the mani because my daughters nails were already done. He even skipped the massage part all together. I had to come home and fix a couple of my nails because he did such a poor job of filing them that they had sharp corners and were catching on things. I was nice, and still gave him the full tip (20) but if I ever go back there I will make sure to request that he gets no where near me. read more

Every nail,technician I have had has been exceptional - even accommodating my squirmy eight year old daughter who is often by my side for her own nail experience. I go to Gabby for my hair cut and color and I am even receiving compliments from stylists who have previously done my hair at other salons. In addition to Gabby, I have gone to many of the stylists for blow dries and have never been disappointed. The front desk receptionists are always so accommodating and friendly and especially good at handling last minute appointment makers like myself. Most importantly, i am always greeted with a smile despite how busy everybody is. Overall, this salon and spa is one of the best I have been to from both a technical and service perspective and I definitely would and have recommended it to all of my friends and colleagues. read more

I really love the idea of being able to get my nails done while enjoying a cocktail with the girls. Unfortunately, the only thing good about this place is the atmosphere. I have only been here twice and can't believe I even gave it a second chance after how bad everything went the first time. I made a later appointment for me and my girlfriend for around 8pm. They weren't last minute so we had been looking forward to going. I felt when we got there, there was a clear lack of communication between the front staff and the actually manicurists. There wasn't any direction given to us, let alone the coldness we felt from the staff when we first arrived. From the get go, we felt like we were inconviencing them for making later appointments, even though they were open until 9pm. The even worst part is that there wasn't anything special about the service except for that you could order drinks. And boy did I wish we had asked for a drink menu before booking our appointments and getting our hopes up. They only offer beer and cheap wine. I'm talking $7 bottle cheap. So of course I opted for Sake and thought I was going to die after tasting it. I don't consider myself to be an expert but you know when something's nasty. And that's the only word I can think of to describe what came out of that machine. It had probably been sitting in those tubes for months. Very disappointing. To some up that experience, the actual pedicure was so so. The people that did them barely tried to talk to us and the front staff kept looking at us like they were mad we even booked the appointments. Then of course, about six months later, my roommates and I all wanted to go get a pedicure together. It was the first time my one roommate was ever getting one, as weird as that sounds being she's 27. lol But anyways, we all arrived separately and checked-in at the front. Instead of making me feel welcome, they just pointed to where I should sit and wait. Not one of the three girls sitting there even escorted me. LAZY! So we are all there and had checked in. We were standing at the bar trying to order a drink since no one had come to take us for our appointment yet. That was impossible. They told us we had to wait until our appointment. Which seems pretty silly being it would just mean we'd probably be more likely to spend more money there. So we are still sitting and waiting at this point for honestly ten more minutes before we decide to just make appointments at another salon. (SALON 54, which by the way was amazing!) When we walk up to the front, one of the receptionists asked why we were leaving and my roommate tried to explain that no one has helped us at all. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the receptionist seemed almost arguementative. This will definately be the last time I ever go there. And will tell everyone that ever asks my honest opinion of this place. Thank god people really value your recommendations when you are working at the front desk of 4 Diamond Hotel. I am from NYC and it took me a while to find a salon in Jupiter that did NYC style manicures. I see Kim at tipsy and I enjoy my manicures and pedicures every time I see her. She spends a good amount of time filing and shaping your nails which is important to me. I've also used Jason and he is very good as well.
