Worst customer service anywhere. My nail technician was busy today and could not take me, so I decided to try tipsy's. I called ahead and asked if they were able to do UV gel manicure. They said yes that I could come in immediately. My nail technician was confused about how to do UV gel. The manager spoke to her in Vietnamese explaining how to do my nails. She asked me if I wanted color on my nails, this was confusing to me , who gets the UV gel manicure without color? The technician did an OK job, she finished in less than 45 minutes. When leaving to Pay, the girl at the counter stated it would be $60. When I questioned her about the price she said well you got a dip manicure. I said no I receive the UV gel manicure. She then continued to debate with me and insisted that I got a dip manicure. The manager came over and stated that I did not get a dip manicure that I received a UV gel manicure and that it is $60. I have never paid more than $40 for a UV gel manicure in the state of Florida. I was shocked. I told her that her competitors charge $40. She did not care and just stated well that's what we charge here. I suggested they might want to tell people in advance as her price is far above the competitors. She brushed me off and stated that I should not have gotten color. (15 dollars extra ) Lesson learned! Next time I will wait for salon 54 to have an opening! read more

This was my first time here, would never have chosen to come here, but I had gift cards. I got my nails and roots done. The man who did my nails was pleasant and did a good job. However, the woman who did my hair, Heidi, was extremely rude. The minute I sat down she had something negative to say about my hair (her exact words were "ew your hair is green") and then from there the condescending/hurtful comments continued. I have long hair, so it's more difficult to work with, however don't do women's hair if you can't handle it. And then my favorite was when I said I dyed my hair blonde 2 years ago and she had the audacity to say "eh you're alright as a blonde." The icing on the cake was the she didn't even do my hair correctly and it was honestly such a waste of money because now I have to go somewhere else to get it fixed. First of all, this place is more expensive than I pay at home in NYC, which was shocking. Secondly, the mani shaping was really bad. My girl could not understand the concept of rounded square shape for my manicure so I am currently sitting on my couch with an emery board reshaping every single nail and filing off the pointy corners (which will make it chip sooner I know but I cannot live with it as is.) Yes I asked her to do it but she didn't understand and just kept swiping at my nail with the board. One nail she almost got right but I couldn't go thru trying to explain it 9 more times so I gave up. The pedi was fine but she never wrapped my toes or gave me the foam separators so of course it got messed up during the mani and I didn't have time to wait for them to fix, so all in all I paid a lot for a bad mani/pedi. I have to think there are better and cheaper places nearby. Do not recommend. read more

I walked in for a pedicure, having never been here before. The sign on the door proclaims "Walk-ins Welcome!" I was told it would be about a 10 minute wait, which is fine. I settled down with a book at the bar (not that anyone asked if I wanted a drink or anything). After 30 minutes, I went up front to ask what the deal was. The receptionist apologized and said that they were very busy (I don't know, maybe there were 5 people there? It certainly wasn't hopping). A gentleman (the owner?) came over and said he didn't know I was waiting (I mean, I signed in and everything!) He sat me in a pedicure chair (the massage function didn't work) and I put my feet in the water. Very quickly, a woman came and took off my polish. She then packed up her stuff and walked away, without a word to me. So, I'm left sitting there. Another 10 minutes goes by, and I sit in my non-massaging chair, with my temper now heading towards slow boil. I notice a sucking noise, and see that the water has been slowly draining out of the foot basin. Suddenly, the water is below the massage jets, and the next thing I know I'm soaked from the crotch down as the water starts spraying up from the basin. Well, my yelp and jump out of the chair got their attention. At that point, I just said, "I'm out of here." They did have the good grace to offer me a towel on my way out the door. Listen ladies, take it from me...DO NOT EVER, EVER set foot in this salon! What a nightmare. It is a low class scam. They advertise as a high end salon while they have technicians who do not speak or understand english. The staff overseeing the place looked barely out of high school and was wearing baggy jeans and converse sneakers. My nails are completely damaged from the aggressive filing that was so painful I had to get up and walk away. The manicurist ("Lee") couldn't understand english, whatever, but the hand gestures saying "OUCH" and "STOP" should have been crystal clear. Every time I go there, I am hopeful that I will be pleasantly surprised with GOOD service. However, they never disappoint - I do better by myself. The nail technician i had, started off way to far from the cuticle and then proceeded to fix it by applying another "thick" coat on top. AWEFUL - paint on the cuticles, which is more apparent in the sun. When I tried to tell them, they did not even care. I went to this salon last week. Amy did my nails and they were absolutely horrible. I asked for pink and whites and was given clear nail polish with white tips instead. It was absolutely visible how badly they appeared (crooked and all different sizes) and Amy could not care less! After paying $91, for a mani and pedi, I think they would try to do right by the customer and at least have the decency to call me back. However, she never even called me. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will never go back to this salon. I am not one to write reviews, but I had to this time. I don't get my nails done much, but when I do it's a treat for me. I went into the salon around 6 and they were already cleaning up to close (they close at 8). I asked for the nexgen manicure and a regular pedicure. Everything was going good until my technician started to rush. There was no need to rush and she started doing a sloppy job. I have gotten the nexgen done a couple times before and every time they put my nails under the UV light, but not this time. I asked her why and she told me that wherever I got them done was doing them wrong (one of the places the owner of Tipsy also owns-Venetian). I didn't question her even though I was worried. When it came time for my pedicure I noticed my nails had air bubbles and spots. I told my technician and she told me it was my fault. She put a regular top coat on top of them, which was OPI, which was also weird. Again, they did the same thing. She made me feel as if I was dumb by asking her why she would put a regular top coat on the nexgen nails. Then it comes time to pay.... Tipsy offers $20 pedis on Tuesdays, which is part of the reason I went. Online the nexgen costs $35. My total should of come out to $55, but it was $60. I asked her why and she said they just raised the price. I told her online it said $35, but she did not care. Then she proceeds to tell that it actually should of cost $45 for the nexgen alone, but she gave me a $5 discount?!?!?! I left and I was very upset. I decided to call them and make sure of the price she charged me. The girl on the phone couldn't give me an exact price. She stuttered around and said around $40-45. I asked to speak to a manager and her response was "WE DONT HAVE MANAGERS". WHAT?!? She was clearly lying to me. I am not a person who complains, but I really felt ripped off and left very disappointed. A relaxing day at the salon turned into an absolute nightmare for me. I came in for a manicure and pedicure this morning (5/28/16) and as usual, the staff were friendly and welcoming. I brought in my own bottles of polish and top coat, as I always do when getting my nails done. I handed the manicurist both bottles when she asked for them and she walked me over to the pedicure chairs, when she dropped the bottle of top coat. I was a little upset, since it was a new bottle and it wasn't cheap, however I know she didn't mean to do it. She said to me immediately, "I will pay for that". After she finished my manicure and pedicure, she said to me again that she will talk to the front desk about me not having to pay for my manicure. Well, when I went up to the front, not only did I have to pay for my services but no one even acknowledged the fact that a member of their staff broke my bottle of top coat. I am a bit disappointed as Tipsy is not exactly a cheap salon. I don't think I will be coming back anytime soon. 3 days later, my color on my nails have chipped and peeled. For the money and quality of the manicure, I can find another upscale salon that will do a better job all around. read more

I regret not reading the reviews before entering this place. I have been getting pedicures for over 15 years and this is absolutely the worst pedicure I have ever had. The girl who did my pedicure looked like she didn't even want to be there. The massage or should I say the pat down that I got on my legs was horrible. I usually come out feeling refreshed and soft but this time I came out frustrated and angry. I am not sure how they are even still in business. I would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy if that gives you any idea of how bad my experience was. I am highly dissatisfied!!! read more

Loved the concept of having a drink while getting a mani/pedi. However, after the service I received I do not think the availability of alcohol is worth the terrible job. Four out of ten fingers were bleeding by the time I was finished and the massages were next to nothing. Also, while my nails were drying in the dryer they dried with dust in them. I mentioned the bleeding to the receptionist and had my manicure taken off my bill. Poor service from the techs but I appreciated the comped mani. read more

My friend and I come here a couple times a year. We usually have an adequate time, not great, but enjoy catching up over mani/pedis and a glass of wine. this time was the worst! Started with a long wait, even though we had appts. Then I was given a chair that did not work. Would not move nor massage, which is one thing I look forward to. The manicurist apologized but did nothing to compensate. She even said she couldn't really do a good job because the chair didn't work? The pedicure itself was less then relaxing. Now on to the manicure. Or there lack of. My friend was getting a gel manicure and the person that did her pedi took her immediately to the nail bar. I was told to sit and someone would be with me. Well, by the time my friend was almost done, my manicurist showed up. I sent them away. By this time it was a little too late. I will never return. This place is more like a factory and could care less about their customer. Time to move on! read more

I originally left a 5 star review for an amazing nail service with Ryan over 3 months ago. I really enjoyed my service with him and my nails looked great! I loved my experience soo much that I went back for nails and hair! Worst hair experience ever! The low level of professionalism was disgusting...the hair stylist showed me pictures of herself peeing in the grass while she was drunk the night prior!! Soooo after the manager begged me to give them another chance I decided to go back and OMGGG I should have said NO but I went back for what was the worst nail service ever!! First of all I was introduced to a nail tech who after I told her what I wanted handed me off to another tech...ok then! She then asked me if i wanted my eyebrows waxed...rude!!!!! I get my brows done at european wax!! Then she said that normally they replace the nail tips when you get a nexgen fill but she didnt have time because my nails werent soaked off during me pedi!??? What the helll??? Then when she finished they looked terrible...sooo bad that the front desk girl took a picture of them and didnt charge me!!! I gave this place 2 chances and I am done!!!! My daughter brought 2 friends to get updoo's for Homecoming dance. We had a 2:00 appt. and my daughter's stylist(Nikki) didn't start her hair until well after 2:30. I had to leave when I saw Nikki start eating a subway sandwich at 2:30 in the chair next to my daughter(instead of apologizing for a late start). I told her that we were having a huge party and that my daughter was getting her nails done at 3:30. She ended up rushing and making a mess of my daughters hair. My daughter was crying.Then Nikki said she had to leave and couldn't fix it because she had a date. I had even called the salon the day before to confirm the 3 girls were starting at 2:00 sharp because last year Nikki had started late and couldnt finish. THe salon had not called me to confirm the 3 appointments. I have also gotten my hair cut there and it was terrible and my nails were done even worse. Why did I keep going back? Worse experience ever. I use to love this place 7 years ago I use to come every week for a mani and pedi. All staff spoke good English and it didn't matter what nail tech or hairstylist you got they would do a fantastic job and go beyond my expectations, I stopped coming here about 2 months ago when I noticed many changes, new nail techs that can't speak English and are very pushy to get you to get the most expensive pedicure which they claim is longer massage, (usually I do them on a special occasion) Amy made me very uncomfortable because she kept nagging. So I did it and it was most rushed pedicure in my life. 30 mins at most, at this point I didn't even want to get the manicure done with that nail tech so I went to the girl at the front desk who was very understanding and asked to get another nail tech to do my mani. After sitting at the bar for 15 mins another nail tech rushes to me and starts my mani when I noticed she didn't even disinfect her tools! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I got out of the chair, paid my pedicure and left. Couple days goes by and I noticed I had a infection on my foot. Called right away to speak with a manager after the guy Andre answered he didn't even know what to say to me and offered a free drink......and insisted that tipsy is a "high-end salon" and they disinfect tools 2 times......well I learned my lesson the hard way. It really sucks that the quality of the service has dramatically gone down and there is no customer service like there use to be. This place use to be a high end salon with a amazing atmosphere and location..........not anymore so don't even waste your money here. You can get a better and cheaper mani and pedi somewhere else. read more

I went in to have my color done using the balayage technique, which I have had done before. I normally go to a different salon, but the girl I go to couldn't fit me in when I was able to go. Well I learned my lesson by trying somewhere new because my "balayage" looks more like outgrown highlights than the nice ombré look that balayage should look like. There's no gradual effect, it's just a very blunt starting point off my scalp. Also, right in the front above my forehead I have a large splatter spot that looks like the color just splashed and sat there. I have another spot like this on the side but it isn't as noticeable. The worst part is I paid $258 (plus a tip-- didn't notice the splatter spot until later because she parted my hair the opposite direction I normally have it), and she only did HALF OF MY HEAD!!! I wasn't quoted a price beforehand, but I did NOT expect it to cost that much. Especially since she only did the top half of my head. In the past I've had a full head of highlights, a cut, and blow dry at a much nicer salon and didn't even pay that much. I called a few days after the service, turns out the manager is the lady that did my hair! Seriously?! I wanted some sort of partial refund, not to have it "fixed." I have 2 small kids and it was hard enough to find a sitter to get there in the first place. The girl called me back after speaking to the owner and they offered to have me come in and have it fixed, no partial refund. I made the appointment but I had to cancel it because I have no one to watch my kids, plus I'm just over it. I'm going to have a friend fix my spots and never go to this salon again. read more
