The service, the views, the drinks... absolutely amazing! This is a place we wish we would've stopped at during the beginning of our trip, but alas we didn't. The service was quick and fast, the drinks were made to perfection and the views were beyond what we expected but definitely what we needed. If you ever have a chance to stop in here you're definitely going to want to make the time!

I don't usually do reviews but I need to send the Tipsy Turtle good vibes and some love. They had: Cold beer, clean restrooms, good music, and decent prices. What more could you want or expect from a beach side joint!?!? I didn't eat but it's great to have an option for a snack that's right on the beach. I'm glad they are back open and appreciate the fantastic view. I hope they stick around

Caught our server Ms. Kristy on her last day! We had a wonderful time and ours pups were welcomed with open arms. Ian is a fun bartender and the staff was so friendly! 10/10 would come back :)

The Tipsy Turtle is back OPEN! We love this place. Easy parking, beach access, great service, and relaxed vibes--what more could you want in a beach bar? We love to spend the day at the beach right out front, it's so easy to come up to the bar for drinks and food and to use the restroom. The showers help rinse the sand off before you head up and are a refreshing luxury here. The blackened fish tacos are my favorite dish, and The Turtle is a deliciously beachy rum drink. Highly recommend this place if you're spending a day at the beach in Galveston.

On a recent visit to Galveston, we wanted to find a dog-friendly spot with a great view where we could have a few drinks and relax for the afternoon. We tried to go during the normal business hours (while the open sign was up) and there was no one there and no signage for them being closed. We tried again the next day and luckily, they were open. Once we were there, we quickly noticed how long the lines were and heard others complaining about not only the drink prices but also how long it took to get through the line with just one person working. It was not the woman's fault but rather overly busy to not have a full staff. As such, my family and I decided to each order a drink bucket so that we didn't have to go up as frequently. I tried to order a frozen drink from the menu but was told they were not available and switched to a mango margarita on the rocks. My family also ordered a bloody mary and another margarita on the rocks. We wanted to love the drinks and later order food, but quicly realized one drink would be enough for us. The view was great and this has the potential to be an awesome place but the drinks were meh and they couldn't handle the rush. Until I hear that things have changed, I wouldn't visit again.

For those seeking a vibrant, tourist-friendly atmosphere, the establishment delivers on its theme. However, the culinary execution leaves room for alignment with the branding. While the pizza was undeniably fresh, ordering Italian fare at an Old West-themed establishment highlights a structural misalignment in the expansive menu. One can only hope that future iterations of the menu might lean into the theme by introducing traditional barbecue or brisket, perhaps served on classic tin platters with all the fixings to truly anchor the frontier experience. Operationally, the service model is highly consistent, delivering a thoroughly average experience from start to finish. Management is notably visible on the floor, maintaining a quiet, non-intrusive oversight, though a brief greeting would go a long way in establishing a feedback loop regarding the kitchen's output. Additionally, while the service staff diligently checks in to ask if "everything is okay," the answer remains precisely that--perfectly, unequivocally okay.Doc Holliday's has built a memorable visual space with immense potential, and with a more focused culinary direction, the food could easily match the high energy of the surroundings.

The slaw on the taco could have been much better with more lime, less mayo? Not sure what was in it honestly, but citrus would have made it even better. I had a couple of bites of the burger, it was good. The wings were a special, not usually on the menu, wouldn't recommend those, there was an odd flavor. The pretzel bites weren't a big hit either. The service was friendly and attentive. I would come back here for a drink and an appetizer to enjoy the view.

I then ordered the fish tacos. I was really disappointed. They were presented pretty but all three had a slab of tasteless, dry, very bland, white fish in them. I didn't understand this because the menu described the fish tacos as blackened and so flavorful, but they seemed to have no seasoning at all. Luckily, my husband ordered the Blackened Seafood Pot Pie, which although could have been spicier, he enjoyed it very much.

Not to worry, from the merch to the pastry case, to the products from local artisans, there's plenty to discover while you wait. I personally visited the morning of the 5th of July, after all of the fourth of July dwellers sobered up and stopped in for some caffeine to fuel the drive home. That being said, I waited quite a while to order, which gave me time to explore the menu...well kind of. Their menu lives on a wall and can be difficult to read from a distance. Additionally, their specials are handwritten at the til. While I'd love a digital copy of their menu for instances like these, I did just fine after exploring various Yelp menu photos. I ended up with a Sabrina on ice, avocado toast, fruity pebbles rice krispy and chocolate chunk cookie. Fair warning, everything in the pastry case looks fresh and homemade, so prepare to treat yourself. Shoutout for their emphasis on vegan and gluten-free offerings. Visually the avocado toast had me worried, but everything bagel seasoning has a way of curing all wrongs, if those "wrongs" in question are bland food. I found myself happily gobbling it down after a few initially hesitant bites. The rice krispy was fine, and I'm looking forward to warming the cookie and reporting back. While I'll go for a more traditional coffee next time, I'll certainly be back. I'm hoping for a smile, greeting, or positive energy from the staff next go around. Fingers crossed.

I ordered the Gulf Coast Classic, which includes blackened redfish, crawfish étouffée, grilled andouille sausage, and red beans and rice. The meal was well prepared, and the blackened redfish was the standout. While I wouldn't put it on the same level as some of the outstanding independent seafood restaurants along the Gulf Coast, it was still a very enjoyable dinner. The service was attentive and professional throughout the meal, although it felt a little scripted at times. Even so, the staff kept everything moving smoothly and made sure our drinks stayed full. Overall, this is an excellent choice if you're looking for dependable seafood in a beautiful setting. From the herbed popover to the lobster salad we shared, we were off to a good start. They gave us a lovely window table for a short two minute wait. Our little Russian server was a doll, helpful and full of personality. The strange thing was, every time we asked for something, more tartar sauce, in house made ranch, drinks, someone new brought it to our table. It was very quick rather than waiting for our server for every little request. I ordered the Lobster Thermidor with skinny fries and hubby ordered the Alaskan Halibut Fish and Chips and both were absolutely outstanding. Best fish and chips I've ever had. The Halibut was cooked to perfection! The Thermidor was full of flavor, perfectly saucy with a simple and slightly cheesy Parmesan flavor. It said it had mushrooms in it, but I think it really only had three small pieces. I love mushrooms so I could've gone for more, but the whole dish was really outstanding. My fries were a bit more crispy than my husbands. All their sauces are made in house and are absolutely delicious, cocktail, tartar, and ranch. I was using them all for my frites. I would definitely love to come back for any special occasion. The only disappointment was the cheesecake at the end. It was just kind of boring. It could have been elevated by caramelizing the banana. In hindsight I would have chosen something different because an airier version of cheesecake, or something more delicate would have been a better finish to such a lovely, meal.

The prices are definitely on the higher side, but considering how consistently busy they are, it's clear many people feel it's worth it. I'd say it's because it lacks competition.
