I purchased a Groupon for a full synthetic oil change and was able to schedule an appointment for the same day, which was convenient. I was originally told the service would take under an hour, so I planned to wait. However, when I arrived, I was informed it would be a couple of hours before they could get to my car. Fortunately, a friend was able to give me a ride home. The shop called when my oil change was done, which I appreciated, but they also mentioned that I needed two new tires and an air filter, quoting me $800. While my tires have some wear, they aren't in immediate need of replacement. I later checked pricing at Costco and found I could get comparable tires for $400 and an air filter for $12.99 at Walmart When I went to pick up my car, I noticed a few unexpected charges--including a fee for a half quart of oil, a shop fee, and tax-before they even applied the Groupon discount. It felt like the Groupon was more of a way to get customers in the door and then upsell additional services. While the oil change itself was fine, the overall experience left me feeling like transparency could be improved. read more

Buyer Beware This used to be an excellent little auto shop for minor repairs and maintenance but has since changed ownership, and inherited some shady business practices. As noted in several similar reviews, I paid to have numerous repairs & immediately needed urgent repairs. I paid for new breaks, pads, rotors, alignment and an oil change in May. The beginning of October, I also had 2 new tires put on my vehicle , at which time it immediately began making a loud vibrational thud when driving. It sounded like the tires weren't balanced even when driving on a straightaway so I bought it back. The manager Victor looked at it in less than 30 seconds and handed me an estimate for $980. He said I was due for an oil change ( which I just got , there less than 6 months prior) and that the noise was because I need new wheel bearings . He admitted they didn't align the tires or balance them when they installed the tires but stated that wouldn't cause them to wear down. I contacted the corporate office, because some of his statements were more than fishy. They said id need to get a second opinion and have it documented that the noise was due to poor alignment and balancing of the tires, and have it submitted to their office for review. They also added that it wasn't just the front wheel bearings, even though he handed me a written estimate stating such, but now it was both front and back. There are numerous reviews citing shoddy workmanship, and immediately after leaving having vehicles break down, catch fire, parts fall off , needing extensive work afterwards. Please don't fall victim to this type of scam. Save yourself some time and the headache of having to pay for much more serious repairs after bringing your car here . read more

I brought my car in without an appointment on a Saturday morning after finding a screw in it. Victor Andino checked me in and was very helpful. I asked him to get the screw hole plugged, and if it couldn't be repaired, to put my full-size spare on rather than a new tire, since the car is old and just used for local errands. He called me several hours later to say that the tire was ready, and when I arrived, explained that there were actually two screw holes in the tire, one of which could be fixed, but the other was in a location that could not be fixed, so they had just mounted my spare tire for me. To my amazement, he refused to charge me for this service! Our family has used this store in the past and always received good service with fair prices. We will continue to use them as they continue to provide excellent service. read more

Around December 30th my wife had a #2 misfire consisting of just a rough start up. On January 1st I believe, we had the spark plugs replaced and #2 coil pack. It ran perfect until it had another misfire around the 25th the only issue the vehicle had was the one rough start up just like the first time. We dropped it off the evening of the 26th to be worked on the 27th. At 0935 I was contacted by Josh that at this time they were recommending new spark plugs. I told him they had just replaced them at the beginning of the month. He said he would dig further and get back to me. He contacted me again around 1130 and said that the last mechanic did not perform a recalibration after the last work was completed, but he had that done and it is good to go. He mentioned something about the transmission making it sound like it was no big deal and I should get it checked out. I didn't know this was a very serious issue. I went and picked it up and as I turned out into the road and began to normally accelerate there was an immediate issue that would not let you speed up. It felt like bumping in the fuel pedal, almost like you were pressing the brake very quickly. Once taking my foot off the accelerator it shifted gears and I was able to speed up a little more to get out of the way for people flying up on me. Around 20-30 miles per hour the vehicle began to shake very bad. I immediately turned around and called them and said there is an issue with my vehicle. It wasn't like this before and now it has a serious issue. I talked to Josh about it and he basically said that they don't work on transmissions and at this point they are going to wash their hands of it. I said I don't understand I brought you a vehicle that only had two rough startups over a month and you're giving it back to me not drivable. Josh later further explained that the last mechanic also put in a corroded spark plug the first time. I asked if he at least had them replace the corroded spark plug and he said he did. I asked for them to print me out all the documentation of what was done on the vehicle and the diagnostics. They did not do so, only a paper that explains misfires. Now this could be a 1 out of a million thing where this was going to happen anyways and it was just bad timing that it happened when they had it, but I do not believe that is the case. I asked where are the claim forms and was told by Victor that he would have to submit it but they aren't going to do anything for me. He continued to say that basically it's not their issue and it's not on them. I brought my vehicle in driving perfect and only had the 1 rough startup in over a month and left with a #2 misfire light on and my vehicle basically not drivable and paying $117 for a diagnostic test. I believe when they did the recalibration and whatever else, they fried something electrical. I will not be a returning customer. You can decide to go or not go, just sharing my experience. Update: Monro Customer Service sent me a phone number to reach out to and press option six....there is no option six! What kind of garbage company does that. Unfortunately, I called to set up getting new tires, and this time I got Allen. I only know that's his name, because I had to ask. This gentleman proceeded to tell me that I was "putting the horse before the step" because I don't know whether or not he needs to order them, and that he would not get stuck with a restock fee. Allen continued to tell me that I had to come in again, put down a deposit, and then we could proceed...despite me having two quotes. Then Allen hung up on me. They wouldn't help her, told her she needed an appt. so she had to go across to Walmart. I was just at this shop a few weeks ago. Absolutely awful. They lied to me about what service had to be done on my car. Tried to get me to fix my seals on my oil tray and charge me 1200-1300. Never coming back here again, it was my cooling system. 2 water pumps were leaking which costs $82 each. And only about a $105 in labor to fix. As well as my gas filter beneath my passenger back seat. Which is around $240, and $140 labor. Please do not go here if you want to save your car..... Do yourself a favor, and take your business elsewhere. I came in at 5:35, greeted by 5:36, and by 5:37 I was told he can't help me because they close at 6. I just needed a new/used tire, which I have never had last longer than 30mins with literally no other customers, and in the state of my tire in the photo I showed him...a person who actually cares about customers would have made at least something happen rather then say "I can't do anything about it today" and turning back to his computer rather than having any other options available. I would have been cool with an appointment tomorrow. I left saying "it's 5:37 but ok" to which he responded with "I got nobody here to work on it" forgetting that glass is see through, and I saw several people in a shop that apparently ACTUALLY closes at 5:30. Had a slow leak in my right front tire. The guys here diagnosed the trouble was with a previous plug that was done before I owned the Jeep. These guys quickly and professionally removed , patched , rebalanced and re mounted my tire and all at no charge. Can't beat that ! I do not recommend bringing your car to Tire Choice to get fixed. I left my wallet in my center consul of my car not thinking anything about it. When I went to pick up my car, I got my keys, my car was locked and no windows were broken. When I went to grab my wallet to pay for the tires I just got fixed, my wallet was missing. I went in to go tell the workers working on my car that my wallet was not where I left it and they immediately began to fidget with with their fingers looking very suspicious. He then said there was nothing they could do about it and left to go get the manger. But didn't come back until I had to go and find them.I will not be bringing my car to this tire place they are untrustworthy and I will no longer be giving them business. read more

We used to love this place but the last year it has changed in the worst ways. Purchased two full sets of tires from here for two different vehicles and had some alignment work, all was good. Went back to have some warranty work done and they "never had my tire in stock" or was too short staffed. I called ahead to make an appointment and was told as long as they order before 10:30am the tire would arrive by 2pm same day, this was from Keith. Made arrangements to go into work late and the next morning when I show up at 8am for my appointment they called me a lair and said I called the wrong store. Then I showed my call history and their phone number and all the sudden a Keith didn't work there and there was no way for them to work on my car today. We left highly unsatisfied, offended and lost more time away from work. We made a call to corporate to explain the situation. Corporate said they would review the calls and we would hear back from them or Morgan, the owner. This was a week ago and nothing... you guys must have a lot of complaints to sort through. In the meantime, we took our 4Runner to Mavis Tire. A quick half a mile down the road and they have amazing customer service, prices with quality efficient work. read more

Don't go to The Tire Choice unless you're looking for careless mechanics, shoddy work, and the corporate run-around. On 3/02/18, my car was towed to The Tire Choice (Manatee Ave, Bradenton FL) for a broken tie rod replacement. When I picked up my vehicle the following day, it was obvious that there was still something wrong with the tires/tie rods. After pushing the issue with the man at the counter, they put my SUV back on the lift and realized that they had, in fact, put TWO LEFT TIE RODS on instead of a left and a right. This left me out of a vehicle for an additional day and, had I gotten on the Interstate and went about my day, their carelessness could have resulted in serious injuries to me and my family or others on the road. On their second attempt, they put the correct tie rod on and realigned the tires. While they took full responsibility for the mistake, the Tire Choice flat out refused to refund me anything. Instead, insisting that they'd need to talk to the mechanic first and would call me the following day. After two days and no call, I requested to speak with the manager (Kevin). He explained that he's incapable of giving any sort of refund (even $5) no matter the situation and that a full investigation (questioning the mechanic and the suppliers) would need to be done and submitted to corporate, who would then make the decision as to whether or not I was deserving of a refund. This whole process, he said, would take at least 2 months. *The Tire Choice acknowledged complete wrong-doing and the severity of their mistake, and yet refuses to issue any sort of refund. *They claim it takes months to issue even the smallest refund, as all refunds require a claim be sent to corporate. *They have not followed up on their word either time that they've said they'd get back to me regarding this matter It has now been 2 weeks since I spoke to the manager and haven't heard a word regarding the futile "investigation". I've been a customer with the location for a year now, and in the last 7 months have spent 2k on repairs with them. This is how they treat a loyal customer. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. At one time this place was great but since the new ownership and the name change it is now without a doubt the WORST shop I have ever taken my vehicle to hands down. Strike # 1: Had them do an oil change and give my Rav4 the once over before taking a road trip. My wife and I made it up to PA and we were smelling oil. Popped the hood to find the oil filler cap sitting on top of the engine and there was oil everywhere in the engine compartment. They apologized profusely Strike # 2: Car started making an odd noise and had a slight clunking sound coming from the front end took it in for their inspection and recommendations, got a call the next day telling my they could find nothing wrong. I asked if they were sure and asked if they could hold on to the car overnight and I would come by the next morning, so I could be more specific as to what I was hearing and feeling when driving it. They agreed. When I got there the next morning my car had been pulled into the shop and they asked me to come out and see it. When I did I was told that there was no need to look at it again they had no idea what I was hearing but there was nothing wrong with it and that they would drive it anywhere. That's when I told them that was OK and took my car to Toyota for their inspection, surviving the sticker shock from their estimate I went to still another shop and had them look at is as well. Both other shops told me the exact same thing. Both struts are showing wear as are the bearings and the drivers side ball joint is starting to go and both shops offered to show me the problems while the car was on the lift. I will never deal with these people again. read more

On June 3, 2019, I went to The Tire Choice to get new tires, brakes, wipers and AC charge for my 2010 Ford Mustang. They proceeded with the new tires, brakes and wipers and put the dye in the AC system. They came back to me and said that the compressor was bad and needed to be replaced. They replaced the compressor and recharged the system and worked fine for about two weeks. I took the car back again and this time was told it was the condenser, in which they replaced for free. They did this and recharged the system again. It again worked for about two weeks and then again stopped working. They replaced the condenser saying tiny metal fragments must of gotten in there and that is why it stopped working. They replaced it, recharged system again and sent me on my way. On Thursday, July 29th, the AC stopped working again, this time the manager went under the car and within two minutes said it was leaking under the dashboard and would be about $1,000 to $1,200 to fix it. My question is, if the manager found this leak within two minutes, how was it overlooked when they first put in the dye to check for leaks? Obliviously, without fixing the dashboard leak, the AC will not work properly. I am seeking reimbursement of my cost and time to be able to fix the car correctly. Warning to women, do not go there by yourself, obviously they do not know how to fix AC systems in cars. read more

Brought a high end vehicle to have tires rotated and balanced. They left grease all over the wheels. Thought maybe they just got rushed or forgot to clean up. Well the next day I'm cleaning up after their work I find busted center piece to the wheel rims . They glued it back in place with adhesive. It showed really bad when cleaning I then realised this was concieled deliberately. Of course they didn't man up about there mistake. I'm so glad I didn't need them under the hood. Stay away, while I was waiting I noticed much horse play and cell phone texting in the work bay. They are sloppy workers. My rims are all scared now and wheel cosmetic looks terrible. I live in Bradenton and work in Tampa and leave in the dark every morning to make the long commute. Just outside of Tampa, the low tire pressure warning light came on -17# pressure in the left rear tire. These are run flat tires, so I managed to make my way back to Bradenton later that afternoon and pulled directly into The Tire Choice shop. Their shop was full to capacity - they had a car on every rack and several waiting their turn to be serviced. I explained my situation and they assured me that they would look at my car if I didn't mind waiting. Within 10 minutes they had my car pulled in and found 2 screws in the problem tire. They fixed my tire and had me out the door in a very short amount of time. They are all about the customer - not chasing the dollar. I will always remember how courteous and caring they were. I will never go anywhere else for my tire needs. read more

My husband I are extremely disappointed in the take over of this company of the former business!! The customer service was horrible and they charged 90 dollars to install a headlamp!! We had a great relationship with the former business-but we will not be continuing our relationship with this establishment. The man at the counter said that they had to take the bumper off, to change it and charged us accordingly. A simple you tube video check said that was not the case and takes about 5 minutes! Further they acted like they were doing us a big favor and cost savings. 19 dollar lamp 70 dollar labor -for a headlight bulb change!! Saturday (10/26) I noticed I had a screw in my front passenger side tire and went to a Tampa Tire Choice. Unfortunately, the screw was too close to my tire wall to patch. I called this Tire Choice and they didn't have my tire in stock which I understand since it is an all season wider sports car tire. I gave the exact dimensions off the tire to the manager. At no point did I mention that it is a run flat because it's not. So this "manager" proceeded to order the wrong tire and assuming my vehicle needs a run flat. So when I came in on Monday, they brought my car into the garage and told me they ordered the wrong tire. I asked how and he said he assumed the tire was a run flat. We all know what they say about assuming right? Also I forgot to mention that the techs were super unprofessional, switched my car to sport mode and revved the engine in the garage. I didn't lose my temper because it's probably the nicest vehicle he's ever sat in. No harm no foul. I couldn't imagine what would've happened if I left the car with them though. So, here I am waiting for a follow up call and not receiving one. One of the staff members said that the tire should be in this morning. Sorry for the rant but, I hope someone who cares about their vehicle comes across this review and goes somewhere else to get their tires. read more
