Charged her over 2X more than what other shops are charging and tried to get her to get more work done and again quoted over 2X what shops in the area charge. I took my car there to get a broken part removed, and the part was removed in 30 minutes. I was charged two labor misc. fees for $70 each and my final bill was over $200. I understand the shop is in business to make money, but when a shop adds extra charges to make a bill double of would in should cost. This place is absolutely horrible! The have had my car for 2 days for a minor repair. They only have one mechanic on duty and the customer service is terrible. I'm just going to take my car somewhere else. Don't waste your time & money. And the two men at the counter are extremely rude (3/1/25)! they don't greet you when you come in and you have to address them first. Worst experience I have ever had with a mechanic. read more

Made a service appointment for the morning time slots starting at 0730. Dropped the car off around 0735 and spoke to someone at the front desk regarding the services I needed. This included an oil change, tire rotation/alignment, check out an engine light code, and add on a state inspection if possible. He said okay, I gave him my key, and left. I went back at 1700 to pick up. Nothing was completed. Another person asked what services I was expecting to have completed, so I repeated the above list. He then started to poorly explain how they don't let inspections jump others and they didn't do appointments for them. That's fine, but at no point was that information relayed to me when the car was dropped off. This morning I asked them to please do an inspection if possible. I had the exact same things done last year at the same location, inspection included, with no issue. I will not be using them again and will let anyone looking for service to avoid them. read more

I dropped my car off yesterday at 8am for an oil change, tire rotation, and *if possible* a state inspection. I called at 5:30pm for a status update and was told there was another car ahead of me for the state inspection. It most likely wouldn't get done until the next morning and be done around 10am. I called multiple times from 11:24-11:36 this morning and never got an answer so I just showed up at 11:50. The man couldn't find my paperwork and told me he sent the state inspector to get something and he had my papers and would be back "momentarily". I left upset and told my husband about it. That's when the man found my paperwork and told me NOTHING was done. They had my car for 28 hours and didn't even touch it! And it was not communicated yesterday that nothing was done. Beware! I recently took my vehicle to the Tire Choice on Cedar Road for an inspection. It took 4 days to complete the inspection. On the way home, the vehicle was making an odd noise as I drove it. It turns out the lug nuts on one of the wheels were very loose, not even hand-tight. So the noise was from a wobbling tire. Would it have come off as I was driving? Good question?? Fortunately not fall off, it was a short distance home. Looking at the receipt, I double checked the tires that were looked at for the inspection. On the second tire that was part of the inspection, the lug nuts were very tight, to the point you needed superhuman strength just to break them free. What a disappointment. With so many poor reviews, I should know better than to take my vehicle to this location for any work. If I could leave ZERO stars, I would. This place doesn't even warrant a 1-star review. Went to Tire Choice for an oil change and inspection. Set an appointment online 3 days in advance and received a confirmation. Once there was told they didn't have the appointment and they don't do online appointments. this is not the first disappointment. I bought tires from them a while ago and told them I wanted equivalent tires to what I previously had. They quoted me and I accepted what sounded like a fair deal only to find the used Black Lion tires. Who would ever consider Black Lion 40,000-mile cheap tires equivalent to the 70,000-mile Yokohama tires I had? They lost a loyal customer today. read more

I got my car back from them with a broken window, and a false promise that company insurance would take care of it. I took my car for inspection at the location at 849 Battlefield Blvd, in Chesapeake, VA. The people there used to call me when they were done inspecting my car, but not this time. My car was vandalized the night of Dec 6th and nobody called me then, either. When I showed up and saw the broken window for myself, the manager gave me a card with the police report number, and excuses why he thought *somebody* must have called me. The manager also said Tire Choice's insurance would take care of it, and he'd have my window fixed. I asked if I needed to leave the car with him, and when it would be. He said he'd call when he knew. When I call, nobody ever has answers. Nobody ever gets answers and calls me back. When I call the company's 1-800 number for customer service, I get put on hold and eventually directed to leave a message. And then nobody calls me back. If that manager had just been honest, I could have had my window fixed by now. If your company isn't going to have my window fixed, don't tell me that they are. I've gone nearly 3 weeks with plastic taped over that window because that manager lied to me. read more

I brought my car up to Tire Choice to patch/plug my tire that had 1 nail in it. After over an hour of waiting they were done. However they didn't add any air after putting the tire back on so I had to refill it myself. I noticed the leaking continued though so I took it back to get it relooked at. When they were done the guy said I should be good now. So I went to work only to notice that the tire was going flat again. So I called and the manager told me to come back. After getting my job to allow me to leave I went back to Tire Choice for the third time. Only for them to tell me that I had 4 nails in the tire and it was nothing they could do. AVOID THIS TIRE CHOICE AT ALL COST. TERRIBLE customer service & HORRIBLE staff. I brought my 2015 m4 in for a tire swap and left with two curb rash rims. There insurance won't cover it because the "machine" wasn't at fault and the manager that looked at the wheels prior to the work being done wasn't there the day I picked up the car. Tire choice management lacks integrity and goes to show that the days of doing what's right is numbered. I usually buy my tires (always Michelins) at Sam's Club but always have to wait a few days for them to be ordered. I didn't feel like waiting this time so I checked places online to see where my desired tires were in stock. Tread Quarters had what I wanted and it was only a few dollars more than Sam's Club but I was a bit hesitant because of a horrible experience I had at another Tread Quarters location about a dozen years ago. At that time I thought I would never patronize on of their stores again but all these years later I decided to take a chance. Seeing that the reviews for this location were a little better than most other TQ locations made me more comfortable. I unexpectedly had some free time late on a Tuesday afternoon so I drove the F-150 to TQ to see if they could fit me in. The place was packed with cars and customers so I didn't think they'd have time to fit me in so late (almost 5pm) so I was pleasantly surprised when they said they could get it done but I'd need to wait a couple hours. This TQ location is open late until 8pm on weekdays and 7pm on Saturdays. They're even open on Sundays from 9-5 so their hours a certainly more convenient than most other businesses in the tire shop industry. The waiting area is very spacious but not particularly comfortable with some basic chairs, a couple vending machines, a coffee station, water cooler, an assortment of magazines and a TV. It's a pretty standard waiting area. They also offer free Wi-Fi, there is a placard on top of the water cooler that tells you the name of the network and the password, I thought this was a nice touch. All together I was there about 2.5 hours until the installation on my truck was complete. I was happy with the quality of my tires and installation process. The employees I interacted with were very pleasant and professional throughout the experience. I listened to some of their interactions with other customers and was impressed with the way they discussed repairs in detail. They always seemed upfront and honest, I heard a couple customers comment on how they appreciated the honesty of the employees at this location. I do have a couple of quibbles. There is a $3 disposal fee per tire. I had instructed them to only dispose of one tire and just throw the other tire in the truck bed. They returned the correct tire but when I looked at the bill they had charged the disposal fee for both tires. I pointed this out but said I wasn't going to worry about it, I just wanted to get home. The other small issue is that my truck was done and pulled in front of the store but no one let me know it was done. I thought maybe the bill wasn't ready or something so I waited about ten minutes or so before I approached the service desk and inquired if my bill was ready. It was indeed ready and waiting at the desk so I settled up and was on my way. Overall, my experience at this TQ location was very good. I was happy with the personnel, the service and the product. Staff is friendly, professional, knowledgeable and honest. Prices are fair and competitive. There were a couple small glitches but I have no problem recommending this location of Tread Quarters for your automotive tire and vehicle service needs. read more

From a warm greeting on the phone to great service when I actually get there! I can't speak for anyone else there but I would hope the way he is, he runs a tight ship! My father & I have both religiously brought our vehicles to him! if I could I'd give this company a zero. Ever since it switched from Tread Quarters to Tire choice it's gone downhil. It took them 5 days to get back to me with a quote on the work. As well as tell you how much you can afford. Then they give you a quote, order parts, tell you what day you can pick it up and then if the work is too much or takes too long for them they refuse to work on it and claims it's unsafe. If wasn't safe to work on why did you order the parts? and give me a quote? the customer service is terrible, they are disrespectful. My truck went in making no noises and now it's loud and barely accelerates. So I'm in the process of filing a suit against the company. Avoid at all costs. Walked in to get an inspection, and there was an employee sitting at the desk, not on the phone, and I walked in and he just sat there without even acknowledging that someone had walked in. After two minutes of standing there he finally said "I'll be with you in a minute", never even a "hello". So he walks in the back, and comes out 1 minute later and asks what I needed. I asked how long it would be for an inspection. He said flatly "tomorrow". That's it, nothing else. It felt as if I were a burden for being there. No customer service at all. Did not feel welcomed. I have come to this tread quarters for a few years now for regular service, tire rotations,state inspections and the like. I recently had a potentially HUGE issue and took it to TQ and had a wonderful experience. I called and set up an appointment for the following morning. I was kept in the loop through the entire process. This is important as the stress of not having a vehicle can be massive. (Especially if it's the one that fits the kids!) We were able to talk about what was recommended and what was necessary. This is key! I was told a few thing we're not necessary but they are recommended and they even walked me through why. In the end I went with what was necessary and got ZERO slack for that. There was no pressure or shade. In fact all of this was done with the nicest customer service. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Terrible customer service! Took my car there to drop it off for service the following day... It needed to be inspected and a few minor things. Th following day, I called them at 1PM to check on it. By the way, I have used them many times in the past, and they never call you to tell you when the car is complete. A cocky little dude named Steve answered and said that they only had one state qualified inspector and had 12cars in that day for inspection. Good news- I was next. Great. Well, at 4:45PM, STILL NO CALL. I called him, and he reported that they were still busy and might not get to the car today. I reminded him that I had dropped it off the day before! They do not take appointments for state inspection. So, I asked how that could be that my car was not in the que for work first thing- since I had brought it in the night before to be sure to have it back the following evening. I informed him that I had sat around all day waiting for them to do the work. Hung up. I called back after thinking about it, and asked cocky Steve to forget about the tire rotation and tranny flush and to just do the inspection. This would save a lot of time, I figured. They close at 8PM. Well, I show up at 7:30 and guess what? No cocky Steve and car in same spot I parked it in the previous day. No calls, no apology, no concern, no respect, no accountability. What happened? No other customers sitting around with the same story. How did they fail to do the work even though I was there the previous day? I suggested to the tight-lipped lady that perhaps they should get on it because it was close to 8PM closing. Gee, that would inconvenience them. No go. Outright refusal, and again no apologies whatsoever! Cocky Steve had smugly suggested at 6 PM when I dropped it off that I should have the coolant flushed and that they could do it right away. Nice joke; you couldn't even do the inspection the whole following day. I'm done with this place. I wasted a whole day sitting at home waiting on them, and drove away with a car that still is not inspected. And again, NO APOLOGY OR EXPLANATION OTHER THAN THEY WERE BUSY. It's a struggle for most of us car guys in the 7 cities region to pass the Virginia state inspection. Most places will fail you for any little thing they can find, it almost makes it impossible to drive a project car out here. I was referred to this place from a close friend at work and I wasn't disappointed! You don't get any kind of intimidation and the workers are pleasant to be around, something you rarely see at other autobody shops! This review goes out to any military members stationed in the area or anyone who loves building cars but can't pass the inspection, this place helped me pass when I needed it. I can't vouch for any of their services because I only came for their state inspection but if I needed new tires or any of their other services I would trust them. This is also the only autobody shop to get a 5 star rating from me in my 3 years being stationed here! read more

If I could give this a 0 star rating I would. I set up an 8am appointment on their web sight for an oil change, tire rotation, and state inspection. Dropped the truck off the night before and confirmed they could do it at the service desk. Came back the next day at 6pm and was told they didn't get to it. I asked why not since I had a confined appointment for 8 am and dropped off the night before. The guy behind the counter just smirked and shrugged his shoulders. I then asked why there was no call. Same stupid smirk. Are you kidding me. Do not waste your time at this place unless you plan on babysitting them and calling them every hour on the hour to make sure they do what they are supposed to. Then finally looks at me and says my car make. I said yes. He gives me my key and says $20. I pay and ask him if my car was in the back. he said somewhere outside right there. I've been coming here for years and it was never parked in the lot of the Rite-Aid across the street. I've also never dealt with this kind of service. I've been coming here since it was a Goodyear. Had an appointment for 1pm today and scheduled it online with the brand and size tires I would need. Showed up at given time and was told that my tires weren't there. Why wasn't I called ahead of time? Tires showed up at 2:30pm. Here it is almost 5:30 and I'm still sitting in the lobby waiting for my car? Oh and I had to warn a woman that brought her 2 children in and told them to have a seat in the lobby that a completely inappropriate movie was playing on their lobby television. I got an oil change recently and the staff was really nice and they did a good job with my car. And then tonight I went by to have my tire looked at and Steven was more than willing to drive my car around to see if he noticed any weird noises or it driving weird. When he didn't hear anything wrong he tightened the tire just in case. He went out of his way although the tire hadn't initially been changed there. This business took advantage of me being a young girl alone in a mechanic shop. I'm 25 and up until this experience I thought the idea of taking advantage of girls in the car world was antiquated. I ended up waiting 4hrs for my tires. Was told at the end of my service that it was over 150 above my quoted price for a tire change. When I brought this up to the front desk I was told the lowest they could do was still 2x the price of my original quote. In order to get it closer to my original quote I was told "we'll you can take off tire disposal. Which will take off about $20." At this point it added insult to injury. I told the staff to charge me and I would be contacting customer service. I have since done so and reviewed my invoice and have since discovered that not only was the staff rude, but I was charged for services I didn't request or approve. Ok, I heard something loose up under my car, scared me bad still didn't want to have to take it to the shop because I was worried about the cost. Went inside told the tech that I had something loose under my car he asked for my keys, I was there maybe 20minutes and the other tech came smiling and said that whatever it was has gone and I asked are you sure he said he put it in the air and he drove it which I did see, they did not charge me a dime, I have never experienced this kind of service from a car repair business, went there before because I could not open my hood and they opened it for me sprayed some oil spray on it and again didn't charge me a dime, I know them from getting my oil changed there, really feels great to go to a repair shop coming out with a big ole Kool-Aid smile on yo face. I am not going to lie. I hate having to come here. It's like having to go to the dentist or doctor: a necessary evil. Their customer service has been phenomenal every time my husband or I have been. With 3 vehicles, we are here several times per year. The men up front recognized me when I came in last week and asked how my husband and his Mustang were. When I told him he'd sold it, they were disappointed until I told them what he'd bought. The fact that they recognize me and remember what cars we have before I've even given them my info says a lot about their staff. They never try to sell me things I don't need. Yet , they warn me when something will need work soon. I like the night drop off service option and their financing (credit card). Their prices are compatible for the area. I've been bringing our cars here for about 3 years and will continue to do so. read more

Like most people getting state inspections, I was worried that they would try to upsell me with a list of things..but they didn't. This is my 2 time here getting my alignment done on my son's truck..first was in oct.4 new tires went bold,and they told him after they did the work he needed to replace ball joints..so rite before I went into surgery for lung cancer 1 month ago we fixes the whole front end brought it back up so the can fix. Sad to say I'm back here again. It's the best they can do..and we are going to fix it or money back and I'll take it somewhere who can first the alignment. If you asked me 2-3 years ago, I'd easily give this place 4-5 stars. The reason? Easily the customer service. They were kind, considerate and made recommendations not BS claims about what NEEDS to be done. Within the past year, the wait times have increased significantly and other than the main customer service person (who I believe has been at this location for years and is very kind!), the new guys seem to lack this simple skill. Additionally, 4-6 hours for a state inspection is a little bit nuts. I'm not sure what the cost of training is for these inspectors, but to only have 1 on staff close to the end of the month is kind of ridiculous. I hope they can increase the number of inspectors or at least create an express lane for inspections. This would definitely be more efficient for busy customers, and allow other mechanics to work on the major repairs, keeping customers happier. Even if there is some kind of rotation based on who's trained to inspect to keep things fair within the shop, an EXPRESS LANE for quick inspections would have me more likely to bring BOTH of our cars here for regular service and oil changes vs. going to a Jiffy Lube or something. I was in and out of Firestone in less than an hour. Please do better with the wait times and I will gladly increase my star rating!!! read more
