Walked in to get a tire quote and was surprised by their prices. They beat all other business around the general area. Couldn't beat the price and proximity so it just made sense to get it taken care of there. Tires were ordered, arrived the next business day and installed within 2 hours. Service included balancing, mounting and alignment. Overall I was impressed with the service and speed. My 2 complaints: They lost one of my tire valve cover. Not a big deal as I can replace them pretty cheap. One of my tire's pressure was slightly higher than the rest. Most of these issues I should have caught when I picked up my vehicle but I was in a hurry and couldn't stick around. Ryan helped me out big time! Recently was in town visiting from TX and did not realize how bad my tires were before I made the trip. I knew they needed done (was planning on replacing after my trip) but not how bad. Started raining in Jville and I was hydroplaning left and right. My experience with Tire Country was utterly disappointing and extremely embarrassing on the entire management of this business. On March 27, I took my 2017 F150 Raptor to Tire Country to have my front shock absorbers replaced. I decided to come to this business after having a phone call verifying their ability to complete this job due to the type of springs installed on my struts, in which I was quoted $400 dollars. Upon dropping my truck off I was informed they had to take the struts to another business to have the springs compressed and remounted on the new shock absorbers I provided. Once the job was completed, I was informed I had to pay $487 for the job, despite the quote of $400. After picking up my truck, I noticed a significant shaking of the steering wheel and metallic clunking noise from the front left wheel well and I returned to Tire Country on March 30th. I had asked them to fix the issue and instead of completing an alignment at their location they took my truck to yet another business to have the alignment complete. I drove the truck with Ryan, who I am unaware of his position, and the issue of clunking would not reproduce itself. Additionally, I was charged another $100 for this visit despite front suspension work requiring an alignment after being reassembled; something not done during the first visit. During the following weekend the truck began making noise and driving poorly again. I reached out to Ryan via text message, stating the springs were improperly mounted, to which my message was ignored (reference photo 1). On Monday, April 1st, as I was entering the parking garage at my place of employment a significant metallic noise was echoing and upon inspection my driver side CV axle was broken and leaking significant grease (reference photo 2). Immediately after work I called Tire Country with my concerns attempting to receive a refund for their mistake in which Ryan told me numerous times he would not issue me a refund for the work done despite the truck having zero issue prior to their work on my truck. On April 2, I took my truck to Sander's Ford to have the certified mechanics inspect the damage done to the truck due to Tire Country's job. Upon inspection, it was found the driver side CV axle was improperly reinstalled after the work Tire Country did resulting in the failure. Additionally, it was discovered the springs were improperly mounted requiring at least 1/2 of an entire turn to properly mount the springs in order to not cause issues with the front suspension (reference photo 3 and 4). To have all the issues Tire Country caused to my truck it cost me an additional $1278 and a one day job turning into a 12 day job. Today is April 7 and I am just now receiving my truck back in the condition it was prior to having Tire Country do any work on the truck. My experience with Tire Country was abominable. I would never recommend this auto shop to anyone in the Jacksonville area. This business is a classic example of military town businesses only interested in benefiting off of service members. Tire Country has zero regards in rectifying any issues they have caused with someone's vehicle and will not take any steps in accepting responsibility for their actions. Truthfully, this business should be on the off-limits establishment based on my interaction during this visit. I strongly believe this is a recurring issue, messing up service and refusing to take ownership of their mistakes, based on their strong stance of not providing a refund. After it was placed on my vehicle the tire was magically $20+ more expensive and when I questioned it the older guy came and told me that the guy who recommended my tore was only there for a month and didn't know what he was talking about and walked away without giving me a chance to respond. Both my husband and I came here to have work done on our cars recently. He needed a computer diagnostic and then a tune-up, I needed my ball joints and arms replaced. My husband felt they overcharged him for his work, but I was more than pleased with my experience and what they charged. They looked at my car and gave me an estimate. I told them to go ahead and do the work, and when it was done, the guy said it was gonna be $70 cheaper than what he first thought. He totally could have lied to me and he didn't. Plus, their price was $150 cheaper than what Firestone quoted. The only downfall was that the guy said that it would take about an hour and a half and it actually took 3 hours and 15 minutes. They never touched my back tire so I left with a flat tire that they had filled with air still thinking they had done what I paid for. Once they have your money they're done with you, purchased 6 brand new Atturo trailblade X/T tires from these guys, less than 12,000 miles later both front tires had a belt separate and you could no longer drive on them. Took them back to file a warranty manufacturer default claim and they refused to do it, claiming it was from hitting a pot hole or curb too hard (false, they just didn't want to fill out the paperwork). I then contacted Atturo directly and they sent me to discount tires and they filed the claim immediately and explained the hole refund process to us even though we didn't purchase the tires through them. We were in and out in 40 minutes, got to the DMV and who ever filled out the inspection paperwork entered the wrong VIN number so we left DMV headed back to Tire Country, spent another 30 getting it "reinspected" with the correct VIN. They said it passed inspection but four days later my breaks went out. The breaks have been so badly worn down that I need a whole new breaking system and they didn't even catch it. Not only that but after they worked on my vehicle I had three lights show up on my dashboard that were never there when I gave it to them. Bought a tire less than 3 weeks ago and it wound up being defective. I found myself on Western with a flat tire. No nail holes or rubs on the tire but somehow it was deflated and I had caused it to be flat enough to run a rim through it after just three weeks. I try to get them to replace it and they do not stand behind their product. Wanted to charge me for a replacement. Even the technician was flabbergasted and apologized. First off i would like to say they ordered my rims and tires and did so on the day they promised and called me back with notice to get there as soon as they were done. Thats where the pleasant part of the experience stops. Went in and told them i wanted the largest tires i could get without rubbing....that i didn't want to cut any fenders or remove any plastics so they recommended a size and I told them that it wouldn't fit because i had been to truckers toy store and she told me they wouldn't. Mike proceeded to tell me that he had been doing it for 25 years and guaranteed me they would fit so we ordered them and had them installed. By the way truckers toy store was correct. Picked the truck up when they called only to find the tires were rubbing. So i carried the truck back and he wanted to shave my plastics down i said no. I offered to buy the leveling kit(from him) and he could install it at his cost or send the tires back. He agreed so we went inside and he made me put a deposit down on the lift that he was ordering because he screwed up!!! I showed up Saturday about 9:30 to drop my truck back off(4th time to the shop)and he came out with an attitude So we went inside and i had to pay for the rest of the lift before he proceeded $67. I had a 100 dollar bill and he said you got anything smaller i don't have change. My wife was livid by this point and said heres the hundred take it or do it for free. He starting saying that he was doing so much for free already in a very condescending manner and slightly under his breath. My wife said if you hadn't screwed up we wouldn't of even been there. Nobody likes HAVING to purchase tires but unfortunately I found myself in that predicament last week when trying to get an inspection. I checked several tire dealers in Raleigh and they were all within a few dollars of each other, if I wanted a comparable tire to what I had. I was going to Jacksonville the next day so I decided to price check there against Raleigh's prices. I checked out NTB and one other (can't remember the name) but the staff and prices were the same as always. "Yeah we got tires, what size do you need?, you want them mounted and balanced?....etc." I felt as it was an incovence for ME to need tires (s.o.s.) I decided to try this ONE LAST PLACE and I GOT LUCKY. I was immediately greeted upon entering and asked how they could "help ME". That was a shock. I told them my dilemma and explained EXACTLY that I was "just comparing". No one looked cockeyed at me and their professionalism never waivered. Ryan escorted me to my car (2017 Highlander) looked at my tires and asked if I'd give him a minute. A SHORT time later he came back out, went back to my car, wrote something down and then went behind the desk and looked at the computer. In a moment Ryan asked me to step over to where he was at and showed me the price he would replace, mount and balance the very tires that came factory on my vehicle. I was in SHOCK. The TOTAL price was $137.00 lower than ANY of the quotes I had received in Raleigh for tires alone and mostly brands I've never heard of. Needless to say, I returned to Raleigh with Tires from Jacksonville and they will be my FIRST CHOICE from now on. They made the hassle of replacing tires much less "hasslesome". Went today for two tires for the front of my car. Mikey was the man who helped me out when my husband and I got there! Super nice guy and gave me a really good deal! 60 dollars each for two tires and a 30 dollar inspection. I mentioned we were going on a trip soon and they went ahead and rotated my tires too. No extra charge. Seating area has nice couches, a tv, and vending machines. Only took a little over an hour to do the work on my car, while they worked on a few other cars as well. The staff insisted that they install my tires and wheels for a fee of $300.00 and when I refused they would not sell me the lug nuts. The mangers said "I had to make money". I cannot recommend this place at all. I got a flat tire on my luxury SUV, and after driving up on a donut thought I'd made a good choice since they ordered my speciality tires and made an appointment for the next day. Boy was I wrong. They threw my spare into the back of my vehicle leaving grease and oil on the carpeting in the back and upon further inspection of my rims while washing my car a few days after my visit, I found deep gouges and scratches on my rims. My vehicle left this place in worse shape than when it entered. I know a lot of military people use this place because of its location, but I wouldn't recommend it and would in fact discourage my friends from going. read more
