My experience at Doctor Alex's TJ Endodontics clinic has been one of the most pleasant and beneficial for my health because of the work that he and his staff have done resolving the poor condition of my dental problems. As a kid, I swore I would never choose to have dental dentures because I thought that they had limited adherence in the mouth and the troublesome ways to keep the dentures in place would be troublesome. So, I always took good care of my teeth thinking I was in control of their overall health. Well, I developed a medical syndrome several years back where my teeth would decay regardless of how well I took care of them. I struggled to keep my teeth over the past twenty years resulting in spending a full retirement nest egg on my undiagnosed tooth decay propagation only to continue to lose my teeth after numerous solutions offered by the various dentists, I sought treatment from. After replacing decayed teeth with crowned teeth and subsequent root canals that turned into implants, I found myself with a mouth completely covered in an out-of-control infection (lasting over four weeks straight) in numerous teeth and a pain level that I could no longer tolerate. I fortuitously heard of Doctor Alex at that moment and made my first appointment with him. I went to Doctor Alex as a reference from a friend, and I celebrate every day that I did. He did several things different from the other dentists who had counseled me on the cause and recommended a treatment plan of my tooth decay. Of note, he made better sense than any other dentist did before! He recommended a course of treatment and answered all my questions. This was something unique in all my searching and interviewing doctors about the condition of my mouth. Treatment started immediately and is continuing successfully. So, if you have money concerns getting your teeth fixed or cosmetic concerns getting your teeth fixed and even if you have health concerns getting your teeth, see Doctor Alex; he cares, he's competent, and most of all, he will get the problem resolved to your satisfaction and your good health. I needed an emergency root canal and my old dentist couldn't see me. I'm so grateful I found Dr. Alex, he's far superior to my old TJ dentist, fixed my tooth with a quick root canal and filling and gave me a treatment plan that was full of options in case I couldn't afford an implant. (His prices are awesome, I'm just broke from Covid I'll have to choose the cheapest options). He found so much decay I was frankly floored my dentist missed it all since I had seen him in April! I was shown my x-rays and pointed out all the problems. It sucked but I'm so glad I did get the whole mouth looked at, I just about lost 5 teeth if I'd waited and maybe my old dentist found it? Maybe not? Golly, what a gamble. Anyway Dr. Alex is my new go-to guy for all dental work. He's very kind, attentive, thorough, and made sure I found the office ok and found parking. It's literally the last block before you get back in line to cross back into San Diego. Cant beat it. The office is clean, modern and they let you play your music choice, even 80's Rock. Very cool. Dr Alex loves superhero surgical caps but I'll go ahead and say he's a real life superhero, fixing people's most important feature. Such a pro. You won't find a better Endodontist in TJ. If you need a root canal or any dental work, Dr. Alvarez is the dentist you need to see. Every time I've been seen by Dr. Alvarez he has done a terrific job explaining the procedures and making sure I dont leave his office without any questions or concerns and if you happen to have a question while his office is closed you could always txt Dr. Alvarez. That's how much he cares about his patients. At first I was very skeptical about going to Tijuana for a root canal again since my past experience with Dra. Dalia Dental Care in Tijuana resulted in a incomplete root canal with a crown over it and money lost since it has to be retreated. Regardless of my bad experience with dental work in Tijuana, I decided to go ahead and give TJ Endodontics a chance due to the great reviews I read. Im glad I did because they did not let me down. I was naive to not know how a completed root canal should look like in a Xray until Dr. Alvarez explained to me everything. He is a professional & very good at what he does. Best thing is he manages to work with your schedule. Furthermore, his office team is very helpful and friendly. The facility itself is clean and new feeling, it has a good energy vibe especially with the good taste of music. Consequently I recommended him to my sister. Excellent services! Highly recommended. I had a molar that needed a root canal and waited over a month to have it done. The Friday evening of Labor Day weekend, the pain was too much. I called TJ Endodontics and they got me in the next day. The tooth had cracked and could not be saved. They arranged an oral surgeon to do the extraction. It was painless. Everyone speaks near-perfect English. I was late to my appt due to lots of Labor Day traffic to the border. They were so nice and accommodating. It's an easy cab ride from the border to the office. I just showed the cabbie the address at the cab stand. Staff was lovely. Dr. Alvarez was so good. All instructions written in English on the prescription. There are two farmacias right outside the office. All medications got through customs with no problem. The office staff will call to check on you. You can pay in US dollars. No hassles at all. Quality care, knowledgeable doctors and high end equipment at a fraction of the US price. For anyone worried about physical safety, I will just add that Tijuana has come a long way in a short time. I super recommend TJ ENDODONTIC, and I want to share why. Around 20 months ago, I went to a "1st place" just to replace 2 old resins, a couple of days after a terrible pain appeared in my head because those 2 tooth, even fever and threw up. I went to a "2nd place" to work on endodontics procedures, the pain disappeared a couple of days but it appeared again mostly with the stress; I contacted the "2nd place" dentist, and they asked me for a 3D scan of my head to check these 2 tooth deeply, announcing everything was perfect and this was a ghost pain and it would disappear little by little... so, I resisted the pain week over week until 19 months after (October 2022) I heard about this 3rd place (TJ ENDODONTICS) and I scheduled my appointment with them one of those days with a terrible pain in my head and Alexandro did find lived nerves on those tooth causing me the "ghost pain" using the same 3D scan the 2nd dentist asked me before... Dr Alex & the entire staff are the best!!! I needed 2 root canal re-treatments, and oh boy! I was not looking forward to this at all. I'm in OC - CA, and consulted with an OC endodontist, and before I for the procedures done, that I was looking for some cost savings and perhaps a second opinion. I found Dr Alex through online searches, called them up and scheduled the initial consultation. The day of the initial consultation, I was impressed right from get go. Dr Alex was well prepared, had a more modern system of X-rays then some dentist on the U.S side. Although I speak a mix of English & Spanish, Dr Alex speaks English as well as his staff. The best part while getting my teeth fixed up, is the music! Dr Alex asked what's my music choice - & we bumped some raggaeton, jbalvin.... which was awesome! In addition to the root canal retreatments, I had my teeth cleaned, and a couple of cavities taken care. He is my go to for all my dental needs!!! First of all, I want to thank Dr. Alex and Dr. Monica for taking such good care of me. They were both very patient and gentle with me. My first visit was with Dr. Alex, for about a year I had pain and discomfort on my back upper two molars. Prior to deciding on driving to Tj, I had a root canal done about 10 years ago on one of the molars and a year ago on the other molar. My regular dentist was unable to find the cause of pain and discomfort. I started looking for a new dentist but they were all over my budget. I got quoted almost 9k for two retreatments and two crowns. I did my researched and I found Tj Endodontics. I'm not going to lie at first, I was a little skeptical but I am so glad that I decided to still book my appointment with them. It was an excellent experience the one that I had with Dr Alex and his team. I had to get a couple of extractions done and I was really afraid and nervous about it. The last time that I went by the same procedure it all went wrong, it was a really traumatizing and painful experience to me, so I was afraid that this time would be the same. Knowing Dr Alex and his team, I decided that he was the best option for me, so I made my appointment. When the day came by, I was afraid until I saw Dr Alex, he looked so confident and calm that I got in the same vibe, and to my surprise I didn't even felt when he started working, always letting me know what the next step was and above everything, being really gentle and conservative with his movements. That treatment was done 4 days ago, and I haven't felt any soreness or anything like that. 10/10 recommend! I'm from Sacramento Ca I needed crowns and I still had a root canal that was hurting. My insurance wasn't covering them and taking a long time to even get a response from them. I was skeptic about coming to tj to get work done but decided to come here based on the reviews. So far I have not been disappointed! The staff and doctors are caring and make sure you are comfortable. Based off my experience I would say they are much more attentive to you than doctors in the U.S. answering all your questions and fulfilling your dental needs. I had full X-rays/ pictures taken of all my teeth to develop a treatment plan. In my opinion, the price is affordable and definitely worth it. I will be making more trips down here. My experience has been outstanding. A crown and an implant were done. I am well pleased with his expertise. I have a wonderful smile. I was having a lot of pain on the upper left area, we discovered a big infection on a previous root canal. They missed a canal. We had a CBCT noticed the infection; Dr. Alex treated it under a microscope finding it was missing a canal. Really love this place! Highly recommend Dr Alex Alvarez, he is super gentle when it comes to any pain. He always checks in on me and makes sure I'm ok and if there's any discomfort.
