1-Star Review- Very Disappointing Experience Our experience with TMC Windows has been extremely disappointing. You can read my wife's Mila review as well. We purchased $40,000 worth of custom windows, and nearly one year later, our project is still not properly completed! The biggest issue is that the windows we received were not the windows we ordered. We specifically ordered a particular safety lock and hardware configuration built into the window frame called window control opening device. Instead, the windows were installed with a different configuration that includes a small plastic block at the top, limiting the opening to approximately 2 inches. This significantly affects the functionality of the windows and is not what we paid for. We immediately brought this to the attention of management, including Max and Donald. Max initially tried to lie to us that we have made a mistake in our order and that is why we have a problem. He realized his mistake when I showed him his email to me specifying exactly what was a window control opening device and what will be used for our windows configuration. Once cough lying Max assured us that the windows can be modified to the functionality we ordered and he will arrange everything to be done by a licensed Pella technician. This is the reason why we decided to give an opportunity for TMC windows to correct the issue. Almost 5 months ago, we were told that the necessary part would be ordered and that a licensed Pella technician would be arranged to correct the issue. Since then, we have contacted them dozens of times. No clear answers- avoidance and multiple lies from Max specifically. We have repeatedly been told that the part was ordered, that it was at the store, that they were waiting for confirmation from Pella, and that someone would contact us to schedule the repair. None of this happened! Our calls and voicemails are not answered or returned, and after months of waiting, there is still no scheduled repair date. Mistakes can happen with any company. What matters is how a company handles those mistakes. Unfortunately, in our experience, TMC Windows has failed to take responsibility, communicate properly, or follow through on its promises. The installation team also performed very poorly. The guy who came to do the initial technical measurements made mistakes and their installation manger Donald had to come to the house and remeasure everything finding significant discrepancies. Installation team did not show up on the scheduled date for installation. When the installers showed up next day they were missing 3 of our windows and didn't know why. They failed to properly protect the house and used dirty with old cement construction paper. They also damaged our hardwood floor in 2 places. We were extremely patient with TMC windows and gave them many opportunities to resolve this directly and professionally. Instead, we have been left with a $40,000 project that remains incomplete and a product that does not match what we ordered. We are now being forced to escalate the matter further and spend additional time pursuing a resolution for something we already paid for. If you are considering spending tens of thousands of dollars with TMC Windows, please think very carefully and consider another company. For a $40,000 project, this level of communication, follow-through, and customer service is simply unacceptable. We were nothing but patient and polite with them for 12 months including Max, Donald and Maya, however at this point we have to take legal action to protect our rights.

    40+ year old windows yuck

Purchased Milgard Trinsic Windows and sliding doors. In black frames. Have gotten lots of compliments on how great the windows look from neighbors. (get black frames trust me.) Looking back at pics of my old windows i can't believe how gross they looked I went with TMC after getting 3 estimates from different companies. Best deals with quality and different options were from TMC. Great service all the way from salesman to installers. Steve (salesman) was very informative and answered all my questions and explained the process. On Installation day Jason and Gabriel were very clean and professional . was amazed with their skills and professionalism. Was also impressed that an install manager named Angel came by to make sure things were going well. Steve also stoped by to check out the progress. Support local. If you read this review and decide to go with them tell them i sent you!

Height of peephole on inactive door

We'd paid 8K for double entry doors and are very disappointed. First, they put the peephole in the middle of the inactive door (far to the side of where anyone would be standing), and at a height of 61", making it unable to use for the average height American women, and for the average height male under the age of 15. We really need a properly placed peephole, but don't want the look of a second peephole on brand new, $8,000 doors! The doors were damaged during installation. I was told they would bring touch up paint for us to fix it today. (See pics) They installed the door hardware upside-down on the inactive door, and it looks terrible. It is uneven. (See pics) If TMC fixes these defects I'll be happy to update my review.

Completed bi-fold door from the inside.

We ordered a vinyl clad bi-fold door to replace a very old, Franklin stained together sliding door that would stick and my wife couldn't open or close. TMC did a fantastic job even had a subcontractor that built a panel with a pet door! Love the new door.

Milgard Tuscany windows replacing original 101 year old windows

We purchased 4 Milgard Tuscany windows from TMC to replace 101 year old original windows in our historic home. We had a fantastic experience. Mike Morita took extra time to come over to the home, explain the process and had an estimate for us same day. The prices were absolutely fair and the windows were custom ordered and installed only a few weeks later. The two installers that were sent over were extremely professional and did beautiful work. We are so happy with the experience and the service we received. Our only regret is not calling TMC earlier.

Love our new front door! The quality is great and it was installed perfectly!

We had a great experience with TMC Windows and Doors to replace our front door. The quality of the door is incredible, and the service to install the door was great. The door was installed with attention to detail and all fittings and components were installed perfectly. Working with Mike and Angel was awesome; Mike touched base with me throughout the process and afterwards to make sure we were totally satisfied. My husband and I installed a smart lock after the door was installed and it wasn't fitting right and Mike sent out Angel to work on it, and he fixed the problem right away; our door is now perfect. The value of what we received was fantastic, and we would definitely use TMC Windows and Doors again.

My beautiful new kitchen door. I am so pleased. The installers were spot on. Now I don't have to use my knee to close the door tightly.

UPDATE: I want to clarify Newman's response because it's actually a good example of the issues…read moredescribed in my original review. Newman states that they completed "additional work and services at no cost," including stucco work. That is not what happened. I was told during the quoting process that the finish work would be taken care of. Instead, I ended up having to handle and pay for the stucco work and interior moulding myself. I also had to come up with a workaround for the bifold that Newman measured incorrectly. The opening was measured too low in relation to our kitchen countertop behind the sink. Because of that, water could potentially collect at the threshold and make its way back toward the cabinetry. We ended up having to add a granite piece behind the sink to cover and protect that area. That was a workaround we had to come up with because of the incorrect measurement, not additional work Newman did for us. So I'm not sure what "additional work and services" Newman is referring to. To my knowledge, Newman has not performed anything outside of the scope we paid them for. In fact, we've had to pay other people and come up with our own solutions to finish or correct items we were originally told Newman would handle. This is exactly why I mentioned the communication issues in my original review. We're told one thing, later told something different, and now their public response says they performed stucco work for us at no charge when Newman did not perform our stucco work at all. I'm happy to acknowledge anything Newman actually did outside of the scope at no cost, but I genuinely don't know what they are referring to. UPDATE 2: I think you're missing the entire point of my review. The issue isn't whether you can go back after the fact and explain why each individual problem technically wasn't Newman's responsibility. The issue is that we repeatedly relied on what YOUR team told us, only to be told something completely different later. Your sales rep and project manager told us you would handle the full bifold installation, including the necessary stucco chipping. We relied on that. Now you're calling it a courtesy outside the scope. Your sales rep told us the bifolds could be rushed. We relied on that. WinDor later told us there was no rush option. We raised concerns about the installation and were told things were "normal." We relied on your expertise. WinDor then came out, told us they were not normal, and corrected one of them. Your project manager inspected our prepared openings and took the final measurements. One of the bifolds was still measured incorrectly, and we had to modify our kitchen design and add granite behind the sink to work around that mistake. Now we have a bifold that is so difficult to open we practically have to kick it, and again we were initially told this was normal because of the ADA threshold. WinDor has now told us it should absolutely not operate that way and is investigating the installation. That is the pattern I'm talking about. At some point, you need to stop explaining why every individual issue wasn't really your fault and take ownership of the overall experience your customer has had. We hired Newman to be the experts. We shouldn't have to verify what your team tells us with the manufacturer, come up with our own solutions to measurement mistakes, or debate afterward whether something your employees told us would be handled was actually part of the job. I'm not expecting perfection. I'm expecting accountability when something goes wrong. That is what has been missing throughout this project.

He was nice and explained everything. Plus gave suggestions... I gave a downpayment of 10% for everything to proceed. They then ordered it. Rough estimate would be 3-4 weeks for the entire process. They have a physical store in norco which was being run by Andres' wife. After 3 weeks or so give or take... i got a message that they were ready to install. Well within the time frame.... They informed me when they were on the way. They probably took roughly 2.5 hours. Lucas, Andres' son was present. Nothing was rushed and i saw how they handled everything... They can reuse your old door handle... but in my case, i bought a new one... just because. The price: It's pretty fair. It isn't cheap but you get what you paid for. For the peace of mind... ill do it again. Since i got a door replacement, everything was included. From removing the old one , to clean up, trash, installing... and thankfully.... the door i got doesn't need any paint. So it's pretty good. Threshold was top notch. And it seems water / insects wont be able to pop in. Will i choose to work with them again? Probably yes... Once i opt for a screen door... maybe in a couple more months once it gets a little bit cooler.
