He installed new, stainless-steel rollers in place of the old, broken plastic ones and replaced rusted, broken screws on the frame. He also aligned the door, cleaned the track, and showed me the proper lubricant to keep things moving. He was also great with our two dear dogs, and they liked him just fine. McCormick Construction Services installed a new 16 foot Milgard four panel sliding patio door for us. They did all related construction work for the project including removing the old slider and window, installing a header beam for structural support, electrical, repairing stucco and drywall. The owner Michael McCormick is highly professional, knowledgeable, honest, and experienced. Michael exhibited the utmost professionalism throughout the whole process. He's honest, reliable and does a great job of strategizing how to best tackle a project; you can tell his approach is well thought out from the start. One aspect we especially appreciated about Michael was his responsiveness. He answered every one of our calls, emails or texts in a very timely manner. The various workers he brought in for the job were all terrific - very attentive when it came to the details and all very friendly and approachable if you had any questions or concerns. CLASS ACT COMPANY from start to finish! If I could have given, McCormick Construction a 10 star I would have. Workmanship was good, they cleaned up at the end of the day FYI: They are not just windows and doors they do a lot of contracting work as well. Ok so, I first called McCormick Construction because we needed our bi folding doors installed in place of some existing windows and the job needed to be done quick for an upcoming party I was hosting. I first spoke with; Michael and he was extremely well spoken, and you could tell he was educated and knowledgeable. I had him come out to give us a bid. My husband, who is an Electrician and extremely picky hired him after meeting with him. Eric, (the picky husband) stated that you can tell by the conversation that he does jobs like this all the time and that he really knows what he is doing. From the moment they stepped on the job site Paul O and Carlos was professional and very efficient in their time here. The work they provided was meticulous, detailed and systematic. Michael's crew removed the grass and put down cement over part of our backyard. We also had them put in three iron gates around the property. The grass was removed last week of January. Then on account of the rain, the cement could not be put down till second week of February. One can't predict the weather, so the delay was understandable. Michael's crew was booked on the days when there was no rain - so waiting for close to two weeks with a dug up yard waiting for the cement to go down was frustrating. However, the end result was worth the wait, and the backyard looks great. We also had some iron gates installed around the property. They came out and measured the space and delivered and installed the doors on schedule. They did their best to match the pattern(on the new gates) with the pattern on the existing gates on the property. Small glitches are bound to happen with any project - in the end, the yard and the gates look and work great. It was a positive experience and will hire Michael in the future. read more

The estimator was right on time the 2 times he came to see us (initial estimate and follow-up to verify measurements and sign the contract). I used Yelp's quote request tool to reach several repair providers about a broken glass panel in my…read moreMilgard fiberglass french door. I described the door specifically and asked for someone experienced with Milgard. This company replied first and told me they work directly with Milgard and handle their repairs all the time, so I had them come out to measure and quote. The technician who came out did not seem familiar with how the door was built. Instead of getting the glass dimensions from the manufacturer or measuring the opening, he tried to pry off the interior trim to take his measurement. He started at the top left corner, in plain sight at eye level, and chipped the door, exposing the white fiberglass underneath. Then he did the same in the other three corners and again partway down the right side. Five spots in all, and he kept going after the first chip had already shown what the prying does. What makes it worse is where the damage landed. The chips are on the door itself, the fiberglass, which cannot simply be swapped out. The trim he was prying against is removable and replaceable, and it came through fine. He damaged the one part that is hard to replace and left the replaceable part intact. On top of that, he could not actually get the trim off, and proposed cutting it off and gluing it back on. The plan to cover the chips became repainting the door, and since it is a french door both panels would need painting to match. They asked me to source the correct Milgard paint myself. Their verbal price was also higher than what the job ultimately cost me, and the formal written quote they promised more than once never arrived. The company I ended up hiring removed the same trim in about 30 seconds, testing first in one discreet spot, with no damage to the door or the trim. That is the difference between a shop that knows this product and one that does not. I have patched the chips myself with epoxy putty and Milgard touch-up paint, but it is only a stopgap. The real irony is that the door now needs a full repaint to look whole again, not because the glass repair called for it, but purely because of the damage done during a visit to measure and quote. The damage was serious enough that I considered small claims court. One star (less if I could).
